STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH TRADING STANDARDS

Went to leave bt to go with vodaphone. A bt rep phoned back saying he would offer the same price as vodaphone, all confirmed, contract in e mail. We stayed with bt and have received a bill for £60 when on contract says £29.99. After a phonecall they said they could do nothing about it. Have raised the matter with trading standards, reporting them to ofcom and watch dog. WOULD SCORE ZERO, LEAVE COMPANY ALONE AND STAY AWAY. THEY BREAK CONTRACTS AND NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY

I cant give a score less than 1 or i…

I cant give a score less than 1 or i would. Shocking service, they kept taking a direct debit which wasnt authorised, then managers failed to call back 3 times when requested. Have ended up requesting a DSAR so i can challenge them in court if necessary. They have charged me for broadband and tv even though i'm with City Fibre and moved there 14 months ago!!! Clearly they dont care about customers or the score would be higher.

Unhappy with BT services

We used BT as our broadband supplier, they are costly, however when we tried canceling, the issues began. Eventually 16 months later we were offered a partial settlement. After quite some time we queried the refund only to be told it's still with management, we are still waiting for the refund. Not a company we would use again.

I needed to cancel my BT Broadband…

I needed to cancel my BT Broadband contract as I was moving house. A helpful BT employee dealt with this and I explained that I was moving house on 12 September and that, to deal with the completion of the transaction, I would need broadband cover until the end of the day on 12 September. As BT need 30 days notice to cancel a contract, and I contacted them within that timescale, I would be paying for the service for a few days after completion. I was OK with that.
On the day of completion I awoke to find that I had no broadband because BT had ended my cover 24 hours earlier than I had agreed with them. Although I tried to create a personal hotspot from my mobile phone, I live in an area of central London where the mobile signal is intermittent at best. As such I rely on wifi assisted calling from my broadband.
So, on the day of completion I had no broadband and no wifi assisted calling, both of which were needed urgently for completion of my house sale.
BT's helpline opened at 8 am and I spoke with a very polite BT employee who apologised but said that it would take two days to reverse the mistake that BT had made and he recommended that I relocate to a café in the area that has wifi for its customers....!
Thanks BT but I would rather you hadn't left me in this mess and had actually done what we agreed.
I have been a BT customer since 1989 when I bought my first home 36 years ago.
I have also started receiving emails warning me that I hadn't yet returned the BT Home Hub and letting me know what I would be charged if it wasn't returned by a certain date. I told the polite BT employee that BT had agreed to send me a bag in which to return the Hub which hadn't yet arrived and that it would have been more helpful if the bag had arrived before I started to be chased for the return of the equipment! Thank goodness I no longer need to deal with BT's inadequate service.

BT wringing more money out of their customers - shame on you!!

I am needing to look where I can make financial savings, so I phoned BT to ask if I could go on a cheaper call package. They used to do a 700 minute monthly plan, but have withdrawn it, so now the choice is £18 a month for unlimited calls or pay as you go at 29.5p per minute (so basically you can only make roughly 60 minutes worth of calls and it will cost you £18). 60 minutes goes nowhere especially when companies put you on hold!!
Besides phoning my mother, I barely use the phone and only have it here for emergency, as we get no mobile signal.
BT once again having no consideration for it's customers and removing a cheaper call package that allowed 700 minutes of calls. Shame on you BT. You have no consideration for those struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Useless Digital Voice phones

We switched over to full-fibre broadband with BT, having been with them for many years. No complaint about the broadband - it's fast and reliable - BUT we switched over to digital voice at the same time and it's awful! The 'Advanced Alexa phones' with which we were supplied hardly work at all - when we try to use them, they flash off, then say searching for the hub (even when the hub is 50cm away), then say 'synchronising data'. They then switch back to apparently being ready to use, but they aren't.
I spent hours on the phone to BT in Scotland - a helpful adviser - and went through all the resets and so on but to no avail. I think the phones are incompatible with our system in some way. I was able to connect our old DECT phones to the router and they mostly work, but it's worse than the old rotary dial analogue phones. We need someone to come and sort it all out but how do you get someone. Both on the internet help option and on the phone, you go through endless hoops and get nowhere.

Poor Service

My internet was down Saturday morning including my phone and most of my TV channels.
I reported it straight away but they took until Wednesday to come out and then were unable to fix it but made an appointment for an engineer the next day who failed to turn up so they have given me £29 compensation.
Now they are coming Monday afternoon so i am paying for 8 days without my Tv channels, my phone and very poor broadband which is too slow to do a lot of things. I expect a refund for the loss of 25% of my months viewing etc but probably will be fobbed off. Also I am disabled and live alone so can not contact 999 as the phone is dead!!!
Also the phone number used to sent texts etc between us charged me every time on my mobile number which is all i have now, will they repay that as there were several calls and texts i paid for???

Incompetent, dreadful service

On the end of my contract with BT agreed to move to Sky at which point BT offered a very good deal which was due to start on 23rd Feb. This included TV broadband and landline. To date, (14th March) still no TV and some of the promised equipment has still not arrived. In addition I can't receive calls on the landline. One rep offered call divert to my mobile but I would have to pay £6 a month despit it being BTs fault.
I have lost count of the number of reps I have spoken to all to no avail and despite promises they never call back or update me. I should have gone to Sky and paid a bit more.

Rip off company, won't optimise anything for the customer.

Had 2 accounts with two different phone numbers. One had broadband, the other didn't and was cheaper. I asked if I could keep the number at the cheapest one but transfer the package that had BB onto that number. BT said no and that if I moved the package I had to move the phone number too. This is easy to do for BT but causes enormous effort for the customer to inform everyone of a change of number and BT are now charging me an exit fee of £112.37 instead of zero which is the package I would have stopped if I had been allowed to keep the number. Massive rip off, avoid if at all possible. Summary, made me cancel the contract that still had a few months to run instead of allowing me to keep my number and cancel the expired contract which had zero exit fee.

BT customers service mislead me by…

BT customers service mislead me by selling me a package including broadband which over 8 weeks later couldn't complete the job and withdrew money from my account without providing a service and then refunded the money saying that I cancelled when in fact I was still on record. As of yesterday I was still receiving messages to say an engineer was coming out? No one is accountable for the failure. I kept ringing BT for weeks and weeks trying to sort out the constant confusion and mess. I was told that I would be offered £75 for the journey which started 22 March 2021 and ended abruptly on 11 June 2021. I was told that I would be compensated £5 per day until the job was done, now told no compensation. A very untrustworthy company and should be called out. I have contacted watchdog too. I have they reach out to me too.

Demand for payment of two invoices

Demand for payment of two invoices, months after we cancelled our BT Business service. Explained on the phone that they need to set out the basis for the invoices in writing. BT hung up when I insisted on this.
