Miss Ramsden makes the children feel welcome and also makes learning to swim fun! All 3 of my boys love to go to swimming lessons which wasn't always the case with other swim schools. We wouldn't want our kids to learn anywhere else other than bury swim school!

My daughter has been really happy receiving swimming lessons from Denise and her team. She has had consistency with staff teaching her and I love the methods they use, which has helped her grow her confidence as a swimmer. I had tried other swimming schools before finding this one, and she has come on so much. I would totally recommend.

Denise Ramsden runs an excellent swim school and has taught our son for a number of years. She is an experienced and kind teacher whom I would recommend without hesitation.

Bury swim school is fantastic - Swimming tuition is of a high quality with a firm foundation of technique. Miss Ramsden has an ability to engage the children in enjoying their lesson and balances this with holding their attention throughout. Both of my children have had lessons with miss Ramsden, my eldest having 3 previous teachers and I have been most impressed with Bury swim school!

I cannot compliment Bury Swim School enough for engaging with my daughter, who was terrified of swimming a few months ago, to be confident in the water. Denise and Megan are fantastic

Denise and her team at Bury Swim School have played a crucial role in nurturing and teaching my son how to swim over the years. Ben started his journey with Denise in the small pool at Haymarket centre and has recently progressed to the pool at Bury Grammar. He loves it! He now has great confidence in the water and fully understands the importance of being able to swim. The lessons are delivered punctually and to a high standard with progression noted every week without compromising the fun element of being in the water. He always asks when we leave how long until his next lesson! I am hoping to start my daughter with Bury Swim school as soon as she is ready. Keep it up Denise and thank you!

Excellent swim school. Denise has been amazing with my son, who is now a very confident swimmer. Lessons are reasonably priced, pool is lovely and my son always looks forward to his lessons. Highly recommend.

Great swim school, son was very nervous in the water when he started and now he’s a confident swimmer!! He really looks forward to his lesson each week, this is all thanks to Mrs R. I would highly recommend them time and time again. Mrs R is very patient, thorough and knows what she’s doing!

Both Denise and Jake have been fantastic in helping out daugther discover a love for swimming and become super confident in the pool. Denise's lessons in the baby pool are fantastic - she develops such a lovely rapport with the children - and they were a highlight of both mine and my daughter's week.

Since graduating to the pool at Bury Grammar School, my daughter has really become so confident in the pool and this is thanks to Jake's friendly, low-key style of coaching, gradually easing her along to the point where she can swim several lengths in a row in one go.

She has also made a great bunch of friends at her lesson, and looks forward to going each week.

Having switched from a different swim school, where my older child had an underwhelming experience, I'm in a good position to say that I'd recommend Bury Swim School to any parent. It's the best choice we made for our daughter.

We have used bury swim school for both of our children learning to swim. The teachers are patient and engaging. My daughter was very anxious about transition from small pool to big pool and miss Ramsden was the one who finally got her in the big pool! I now have 2 water confident children.

Both children have swam with BSS for over 4 years. Instructors are clear with objectives for the lesson, kind, caring, calm and make lessons engaging and fun. Both have progressed well and feel confident in the water and importantly learn how to swim with the correct technique.

We have shopped around and engaged in various swim schools in the 10 years my daughter has been swimming and we definitely recommend Bury Swim School. Communication is fantastic about the lessons, payments, any changes, etc.
The teaching style of the instructors is brilliant, the children swim a lot in their 30 minute lesson which is great for building stamina for distance swimming, the techniques are taught well. Staff engage well with students and make it a relaxed fun place to learn whilst not losing focus on the goal of improving and building confidence in the water. I have seen the staff work wonders with children who are terrified of the water and also those with who struggle for different reasons. It is an extremely inclusive school for children with a range of needs as well as mainstream students. As a parent I find the staff extremely approachable and our daughter loves her lessons with Bury Swim School.

Ms Ramsden and her team have taught both of my children to swim. They both continue with lessons and enjoy going. She is really good with them, as are the other instructors. I would definitely recommend the swim school to anyone looking for lessons.

It is excellent my daughter’s progress and confidence has improved over the years. Denise Ramsden and her team are very professional and offer a good quality teaching environment.

I was recommended bury swim school by a friend for my two boys after previous bad experiences at other swim schools and my youngest sons fear of swimming on his back. Both my boys (now 10 and 8) have now been with Denise and her team for a number of years. Their confidence has grown immensely as has their ability. Never thought my youngest would be able to swim the way he does now, and that’s thanks to Denise and her team who are incredible. They engage and interact so well with the children (and parents) and it’s genuinely a pleasure to be part of the swim school.

Bury Swim School is excellent. My autistic child started one to one to understand technique a little more and now is able to take part in a class. Every teacher has been able to include him and he has progressed massively!

My son Zac has been going to Denise for the last 4 years and his progress has been amazing including his confidence.

The children join Bury Swim school after some not so good lessons with a different school and we noticed the difference almost immediately. The lessons are good, they focus on teaching swimming skills and in the end have a little bit of fun usually involving diving or jumping in the pool.
The lessons start and finish on time, and in the unlikely event of an illness there is good teacher cover.
The changing facilities are very good too.

My sister recommended Bury Swim School to me as they had taught my niece so well. My son didn't start swimming until he was nearly 7, largely because of Covid. He was nervous as he doesn't really like change or new adults. Jake and Denise met us at the Haymarket pool so my son could look around on his own and get used to the new environment and meet Jake, his teacher, who is still to this day one of his heroes! My son progressed really well and quickly and is now at the Bury Grammar Pool being taught by Denise. Denise has small class sizes so everyone gets the attention they deserve. She knows each child's name, their strengths and struggles and supports them to succeed with feedback, demonstrations and encouragement. The way she explains techniques is incredible and she uses metaphors, visual learning, detailed descriptions, and reflective questions to accommodate different learning styles. In the year and a bit my son has been swimming he has gone from not being able to, to being confident and happy in the water, with the ability to swim backstroke, breaststroke and front crawl. My son has also had Megan teach him and she is equally brilliant. I am so grateful to the team at Bury Swim School and have recommended them to lots of friends and family.

My son has gone to bury swim school for a couple of months now and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Denise is wonderful with the children and put him at ease from day 1. He enjoys the lessons and looks forwards to going every week. Each lesson is different and fun, the children don’t even realise how much technique they are learning as it’s all done in such a child friendly way.
Denise was unfortunately injured and unable to work for a few weeks, I was informed her son would be teaching the lessons, initially I will admit I was a little disappointed as I have bad experience with other swim lessons having disinterested staff. I couldn’t have been more wrong, he was lovely and so brilliant with the children. My son adored him. I don’t have a single negative to say about the swim school, I’m very glad I was able to get my son a place.
