A totally APPALLING Co. I tried to pay off a small debt (£106) on behalf of my daughter who has mental health problems (I have Power of Attorney to represent her).

All I got was a big obstacle course (on the phone) with huge amounts of wasted time. They REFUSED giving me their email address to enable me to send them my Power of Attorney proof document. This then blocked me from being able to speak to them without "data protection" worries ????

So their stupid and totally negative attitude caused :-

(a) Huge amounts of wasted time (30 minutes to get through on the phone) + going around in circles when I got through AND
(b) Preventing me from being able to rescue a small debt of £106 and clear my daughter's late account.

A TOTALLY APPALLING COMPANY

Awful awful company. Tried enforcing a debt when I have not driven the vehicle and can prove it…after telling their employee I am the victim of domestic abuse and so cannot contact the driver and have suffered a mental health crisis as a result of the ongoing abuse. Simply shocking and disgraceful.

Shameful company. They charged me and prosecuted me for an alleged debt over bills I already paid 5 years ago. Impossible to reach and contest. All the scammers working there should take a long look in the mirror and question their life choices.

Lent my van to a friend. He parked it in a restricted area. I got a letter demanding that I pay a fine (read breach of contract penalty). I requested full disclosure of the contract and confirmation that all signage etc. was compliant. I told them I was not the driver as I was under a driving ban. Also told them that google timeline put me elsewhere. Also told them that the driver was willing to pay the original amount as he confessed. He asked to be contacted so he could settle.

Nope. Nada. Nitch. Just escalation via threatening lettters. Then along comes @bwlegal. All their email addresses are dead boxes. Can't get through on the phone. Letters keep coming and they have racked up the 'debt' to £830. I have an arbitration call tomorrow. Simple - will pay original sum or see you in court. This company is a 'boiler room' setup. BW Legal is a registered firm of solicitors. Viz:

They are clearly NOT being regulated!

Chased by this bunch of people for a debt on the property where I live. Usual semi-threatening letter , but some people would worry receiving this sort of thing. Had to ring them to advise who was liable for the account - provided name, address etc. Then 2 weeks later received a slightly modified letter saying I hadn't contacted them so had to ring back again.

In the first call the incompetent person had not recorded the details). On the second call, I spoke with someone who did record the details.

Due to the bad experience, I called back a 3rd time to ensure that the details had been recorded I spoke with a 3rd person who was one of the most objectionable people I have ever dealt with on the phone.

If you have the misfortune to be contacted by these 'people' then ensure that you ask for a transcript of the call and get them to repeat back to you what you have told them.

I believe this company is a scam, they send new companies threatening letters with false information, make sure you call HMRC any time they send you a message. I believe they are taking advantage of working for HMRC if they ever do, the can send you letters claiming you owe HMRC while you don’t owe and they will provide their own account for you to pay, they can call it late fee to confuse you. I wonder how many victims that may have falling into this fraud. Be careful out there.

I keep getting harrassed and threatening letters demanding payment. This is over an alleged parking breach of contract and I’ve already made it quite clear I’m happy to go to court so clearly and obviously trying to bully me to pay money before it gets to court as they probably know I will win as I always have done if it goes that far.

I am a disabled, transsexual person and my experience with BW Legal was extremely alarming, and distressing. its manager rachael jennifer withers , corrin brown and tony deakin are systemically harassing and treating me abusively throughout a fake case they created. They repeatedly contacted me in a way that caused significant distress, and I did not receive the professional, respectful service I expected. They recently lost a big legal action against TRUSTPILOT and certainly have not learnt any legal lesson, let's get together and give these abusers a full legal action collectively

Experience: I have been dealing with a baseless private parking charge from Premier Park Limited, which BW Legal is now pursuing with highly aggressive and misleading tactics.

Despite being on formal notice that the alleged debt is disputed and that the basis of the claim is legally challenged, BW Legal is escalating the matter by threatening to seek a Default County Court Judgment (CCJ) for the full amount.

This action is taken without them having provided the mandatory documentation required by the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims. I formally requested:

Proof of their client’s contract with the landowner giving them the authority to litigate in their own name.

A detailed breakdown of the highly inflated charge, particularly the difference between the original alleged 'fine' and the excessive amount now being demanded (£255.00).

BW Legal is aware that my intention is to robustly defend this claim. Their tactic of pushing for a CCJ instead of providing the requested information demonstrates a complete disregard for the Civil Procedure Rules and is clearly a form of debt-collection by intimidation. They are trying to secure a CCJ by default, which is an unacceptable practice for an SRA-regulated law firm.

Opinion: I strongly advise anyone receiving a letter from this firm to dispute the debt immediately and demand the full legal disclosure mentioned above. Do not be intimidated by their threats of a CCJ; this is clearly a standard part of their aggressive, volume-driven business model. They rely on people being scared into paying bogus charges.

My experience shows they are more interested in exploiting procedural loopholes than in fair, legal compliance. This is a debt-collection operation using a law firm's letterhead to apply pressure. Avoid them and dispute everything.

B. W legal set up a direct debit without my concent, I cancelled it. When I rang them they said they was not actioning anything. So why do I have multiple emails, txts and calls from them. I have all proof in correspondence and recorded calls. See you in court.

Bw chasing me by email and phone for a debt I don't owe with Sky. I terminated my sky account in zoct 2017 as I have a free view TV. As debt if I did have it is over 6 years old it's statute unbarred. Chasing me also under a name that is not mine. Said they had sent letters that I never received. They asked me my address and surprise not the address letters have been sent too. Checked with sky and again surprise I don't owe a penny and they have never heard or used BW Legal. It's a case of throw enough crap some of it will stick. Scam company.

Scammers! Chasing money that isnt even a debt. Asking for our account number and sort code. Harassing us for a none existent debt! How does it make sense?

These solicitor are harassing for the debt of a private parking company. It is barratry to use legal powers intentionally on someone to extort any money. They are scums for harassing for money which they don’t owe them.

Definitely scammer, Suddenly received bwlegal letter head chase British Gas outstanding balance 2 years ago. I won't trust this company. I talked with British gas customer service regarding to my account has been closed and also cleared all outstanding balance for switching to other supplier. Don't want to see more victims.

bw legal sent another letter wanting payment for a debt that is not owed to sky tv, sky tv was informed to cancel my subscription, by recorded letter, on the
2-9-2021, the letter was signed for on the 3-9-2021 at 16:18 pm, this was ignored by sky and no reply was received by myself, the letter recorded number was
NJ771439284GB. However this so called non payment of £38.85 was passed to bw legal, who have harrassed myself for a number of years, despite having been sent evidence that it was a false debt from sky tv. Bank statements were sent but without my bank account number and sort codes, clearly showing 6-9-2021 payment of £38:85, and the payment of £38:85 on 6-10-2021.
Sky was given 1 months notice for cancellation of my subscription, which I found out I did not have to give, as further information obtained, showed me that others were canceling their subscriptions immediately by phone. I was informed I needed to phone sky, after I forwarded the recorded letter by post, however I did not see any need to phone sky as the recorded letter indicated my intention to cancel. bw legal was informed of this by registered letter on the 19-6-2024, with relevant copies of the documents concerned, as I received no reply I understood that the matter was solved. Now the resident of the address in bt38 forwarded the latest correspondence to myself, but i do not live at the the address ,as shown on the envelope, and both sky and bw legal were aware of this, my very name was not spelt properly. The letter was registration number was KD283882598GB, this was signed for on monday 24-6-2024 at 07:25 am, the signature was JALLOW

I’ve received multiple letters from BW Legal chasing a British Gas debt that predates my ownership of the property. I bought the house at the end of January 2025, and the debt they’re chasing relates to a supply period that ended before completion.

Despite me:
- Not being the account holder,
- Providing written confirmation from British Gas that I was not liable, and
- Supplying BW Legal with a resale agreement confirming the completion date,

…they continued to send letters addressed to “The Occupier”, requesting payment or evidence that had already been provided.

Their own letters even show they know the supply period ended before I took possession, yet they still pursued the address and caused ongoing stress and inconvenience.

BW Legal has been informed of the facts multiple times by both me and British Gas, yet they have continued to pursue this improperly. This is, in my view, a failure to act responsibly, reasonably, or professionally.

I have now escalated the matter to British Gas (again) and reserved my right to report BW Legal to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Financial Ombudsman Service if the contact continues.

Avoid dealing with them if you can.

Scam merchants. Send threatening letters to people for alleged outstanding balances. All fake.

Wrongly sent us a bill for a debt we didn’t owe (British Gas, who confirmed we don’t owe them anything). Rude, abrupt customer service. We had received no prior correspondence before getting the “legal action” bill.

BW Legal acting on instruction of British Gas are a very predatory legal firm, there business practices are very suspect at the least.
They lie about having try to contact you and try to impose payment deadlines (often in the past) to scare you into paying money that you may not in fact actually owe. (I didn't due to a BG mistake).
I would wager had I not fought my case with British Gas and proved I did not owe them anything that getting my money back from BW legal would have been near impossible.

Try making you pay depts that are not yours and even when you have a dro order bullys horrible people
