Buyer beware, you've been warned. Fraudulent and questionable business practices.
Cabela's has lost my business indefinitely, multiple fraudulent and questionable business practices. This is a warning to anyone unaware of their shady conduct. Don't let the maple leaf fool you, Cabela's is not a Canadian company nor does it have anything to do with Canadian interest in mind. They are not a member of the Retail Council of Canada, do not honour the price scanner accuracy code unlike 45,000 other Canadian business's and only exist in this country to capitalize on their bottom line.
Ordered a number of items online and in-store over the past few weeks. Online order took an entire week to reach shipping status. Cabela's broke up my order into multiple smaller shipments which resulted in a number of unrecognized transactions on my card. Had to call their customer service and wait on hold for over half an hour to have this nasally droned customer service rep explain the reason for these non-approved transactions. Apparently they drop ship between locations and retroactively ship out items between suppliers. Something they aren't remotely transparent about which isn't just a major hassle of having your order sent to you over multiple packages and days, constantly being rescheduled but a risk of having items lost in transit as a result. So of course, some of my items weren't packaged properly damaged on arrival. Their return policy requires you call them, again on hold over half and hour to get a return authorization all while expecting you to pay "their" supposed shipping charges from your total refund based on "their" provided shipping label.
Some items I wanted couldn't be ordered online (showing local stock only) so while being forced to wait almost two weeks for my online order to arrive I decided to drive across town to visit my local in store and the experience was just as bad.
Entering the store I was extremely frustrated finding out all items showing in-stock online were completely sold-out. As others have pointed out this is merely a rouse to get people in the store and exactly why we need consumer advocacy and consumer affair agencies to run companies like this out of Canada.
Still, it gets better. While I was there decided to pick up a Frankford Arsenal reloading tray, price on the floor said $11.99. Upon purchasing said item the receipt showed I was charged $4.99. After asking the staff about the lower price one of the sales guys told me they hadn't bothered to change the price tags as they were on the end of a sale so decided to pick up a few more trays at the supposed "sale price". So imagine my surprise after checking out with some extra trays they rang up at $14.99 a piece. After some major back and forth, further waiting in line and a trip to customer service realized that originally instead of being charged $4.99 for the first tray I was actually charged $14.99 and the 1 was missing from the receipt. Complete false price representation. After all the hassle and back and forth on their error they tell me they wouldn't honour the advertised price, scanner code conduct and I returned the items and left the store never to return.
Have been in touch with the RCC and Consumer Affairs Canada. Save yourself the anguish and torture dealing with this faux company. Buyer beware, you've been warned.
Cabela's has gone downhill really fast…
Cabela's has gone downhill really fast since 2019/2020. They USED to be my go to for outdoors, ammo, firearms, etc. However, it is quite common now to order items and have them shipped out one by one and arrive weeks apart from each other. Not only does this most likely cost them more as business and as a result the customer but it's annoying as hell. 3 days in a row UPS packages arrived at my door requiring signatures - managed to catch 2 and missed one. There is still one package outstanding 1 month later. So my 1 order which consisted of 4 unique items will have been shipped in 4 separate deliveries. Someone needs to be fired at Cabela's.

I am absolutely in disgust with the quality of service rendered by this company. It's pretty clear the agents don't care and typically deflect any concerns raises. I also just at a loss with everyone having delays to a degree but other vendors are pretty upfront and easy to deal with however agents are like robots following canned responses and really not even trying to provide updates on existing orders.
In a recent order I placed at begining of May 2021, I expected a delay but throughout the entire inquiry process, agents could not provide any update of any kind and yet today I finally get a response that "oh the order was just placed on the truck for delivery from Calg. - THAT'S more than their 12 business days stipulated on their sites. You can't escalate your concerns and you get nowhere which some sort of reasonable status update. I am at a lost as to how this organization operates their business and maintaining some sort of reasonable SLA timeline and properly updating the customers. That being said, I will be most definitly choosing alternate vendors in foreseeable future. Get your act together Cabela...fix the logistic behind the scene...
Here's my honest feedback
Here's my honest feedback. Do not purchase from Cabela's. I made a purchase for 4 seats but had to cancel the order after 1 day. I contacted customer service. They issued me an email stating the order was cancelled and my card would not be charged. Well they decided to charge my card anyways AND ship the items to me. So now my card is charged, I have no seats due to COVID delays, and I have to now refuse the UPS shipment a week from now and then wait 3 weeks to have my card credited, while I get to pay interest on the balance too. Somehow I get penalized for this? I called customer service to sort it out and they say "sorry sir, there's nothing we can do". Buyer beware. Do not buy from this store unless you are sure of what you want. Even then I would suggest ordering from another reputable vendor who won't screw you around. Look at the other reviews and make the wise choice. Don't think about cancelling and expect over 2 weeks for delivery.

Shipping online orders via UPS
Shipping online orders via UPS seem to be a real problem for Cabalas. Can't get an answer when package will be delivered. Ten days, still no word when I get my parcel. Amazon delivers within 2-3 days via Canada Post. GUYS!! WAKE UP!!! Change your courier service. It's affecting your customers.
Don’t even waste your time ordering…
Don’t even waste your time ordering from these people. I ordered two pricey cases on November 30th. Called second week in December and was told it would be on a truck on December 14th. STILL NOTHING! 3 emails and an hour long wait on hold and still no answers. They didn’t even have the courtesy to answer my emails. These were Christmas gifts. This company is disgraceful and doesn’t deserve anyone’s business.

Tried to place an order online for a kids quad (online price only item) and can’t use my visa debit. Called the customer service number and was told I could go to a store, pick up a gift card, go back home and then place the order. Why would I drive all the way there, get the gift card and then drive all the way back just to pick up my order when it arrives. Well off to Walmart!!

First & last time customer
Bought an Intex product from Cabela’s online. The product came apart at the seam upon initial use. It didn’t even last 1 hour. I called Cabela’s who referred me to Intex. Intex said there product has no warranty & referred me back to Cabela’s who basically said ‘tough luck’ we won’t replace the item either. Terrible customer service. Won’t go back.
Poor Mail Order Follow through
Odered from the Edmonton Alberta Canada North Store on Nov 11. 2019 ( Order number 6596928) for a total of $517.
Was all for Christmas Gifts but never arrived in time. They "claimed" someone called and cancelled part of the order, I live alone and wasnt me.
So after spending hours getting it reordered, I went out for the remainder of hunting season and trapping ( after chirstmas).
They made there token calls to say it had arrived but as I was remote, it went to answering service.
I come in much later to pick up the order and low and behold they sent it back if you can imagine.
Who does that with customer orders?
Anyhow store manager wasnt in the least bit concerned until I mentioned social media etc, and he made a token effort to find what they had instore of my order. 5 of 26 products. Not good enough for me!
Used to be my Fav store, until I was treated like this.Avoid the place and its online ordering at all cost its is a complete GONG SHOW
Excellent experience... no issues
I've ordered several items at various time from Cabelas.ca. Everything has arrived intact and within a reasonable time. No problems. Satisfied customer
Ordered Two bedding sets
Ordered Two bedding sets - from the Nanaimo store - never arrived - called them and they told me the last 2 bedding sets - were now on hold for someone else. I explained I already bought those sets a week ago. How could they be on hold for someone else. They agreed that was odd and unethical and would try to fix the issue. I then called back a few days later and they said the last of the bedding sets have move to the bargin cave and they would not be able to fill my order. Super unhappy off!!!!! Cabelas SUXS!!!!!
Decent.
Decent.
I ordered twice from them - depending on location/availability of product (I assume), variable delivery delays and provider. Shipping fees are steep within Canada (for some reason on some items).
Can’t complain about the product itself but given that I get stuff from the States faster with cheaper shipping - kinda disappointed.
Not bad but nowhere near flawless.
Cabelas Canada
Cabelas Canada , super bad service ,they sell items which is not in stock, terrible delivery .Cabelas USA is more expensive but service is much better
