Samantha has supported me through three pregnancies. Sam is a great advocate and support with the right connections. This time round, I didn’t experience the best health and Sam knew me pretty well enough to know I wasn’t myself and got me in touch with the right people. Upon my seizure she really stepped up and I couldn’t thank her enough for her input and support this time round, she was brilliant before but amazing this time round more so. Thanks Sam!

Sam has created a wonderful safe and supportive community space to learn everything you need to know about birthing your baby at home, even if midwives cannot attend or you feel you want to freebirth. If only every pregnant person knew about this group.

I have reached out to Sam on numerous occassions seeking guidance as a doula. I am so, so happy that I did. She has pointed me toward helpful resources, provided a safe space for me to vent and offered invaluable support that have impacted my own birth services for the better. I would 100% opt for Sam as my doula if I was pregnant and lived in her area. I know she would advocate for what it was I wanted without judgement. A true gem in the birth world.

Even as I myself, a Doula, who had employed a loving Doula, pregnant with my second baby, was able to still need a little something on those late nights with questions on my mind. If they hadn't already been asked in Sam's groups, she would usually be the first to suggest an answer when I would ask. Fast-forward some years later and I've worked with Sam on a few things, and referred every single one of my clients to her blogs, groups and courses - everyone comes away happy, informed and heard. Samantha's courses and facebook groups have been an absolute life saver and so informative. I went into my first birth completely unaware of my birth rights and what to expect, completely handing myself over to strangers to decide the best course of action and experience for me. Birth is such a delicate intricate balance of so many things. The Facebook groups along with the courses have empowered me to make my own decisions on the birth I want and has made me feel in control no matter what the outcome. I am far more confident and ready to welcome my second child into the world and feel supported by a movement of women who are taking back their births and helping to change and reshape a system that has completely medicalised births. She has given me to confidence to let my body and baby do what they were designed to do naturally and as uninterrupted as possible and to feel empowered. I cannot thank her enough for everything she does/has done for birthing women

I’m in one of Sam’s invaluable Facebook groups, and the sheer amount of information and support (at any time of the day or night) for free is pretty unbelievable. I’m still awaiting the arrival of my baby but the self confidence and reassurance Sam and her resources have given me are just something I really believe every pregnant person should have. Please check out her home birth group, even if you aren’t necessarily planning one yet. Full of so much wonderful information and emotional support.

Sam is a great resource for parents and great support to HCPs. I’m a midwife and have the greatest of respect for both the support Sam offers families, virtually and in person and the way in which she keeps her groups factual, evidence based and supportive. I’ve just read a review where she is accused of “slating HCPs”. As a HCP I don’t find this to be the case - however poor practice is called out exactly as it should be. Our clients have the right to good safe care within the evidence base and Sam reminds them of this when that standard isn’t being met.

The groups are fast becoming a vital resource due to the incredible wealth of information - it’s become an evidence base within itself - you can’t argue with the facts! Thanks for all you do in keeping the growing service in operation and being so inclusive.

I came across Sam from a gentle parenting group 10 years ago. Since then I have had a further 2 babies, 1 hospital birth and 1 home birth, that Sam absolutely helped guide me through. Her Facebook groups have a wealth of knowledge and such amazing support from likeminded people. The resources available in her home birth group helped me hold my own during a difficult pregnancy through 2020 lockdown where I was alone in appointments and unable to have the in person support I needed. With the info from the group and Sam’s own support I was able to find the confidence to stand up for myself and my as yet unborn baby and have the happy, healing birth I needed without unnecessary interventions. I was also able to use the discount codes available for a pool hire to have a home water birth. Sam is passionate about birth rights and helping families in their journey and will stand in your corner all the way. If I birth again I will wholeheartedly be speaking to Sam once more and trust her to have my back.

Sam, just wow!! She has been the best thing to happen to my pregnancy and gave me the tools and knowledge to advocate for myself during the pregnancy and birth. Sam also helped my husband through his understanding of pregnancy and what to expect in labour through her workshops, which helped him tenfold. Her groups are amazing too. I can't thank Sam enough for everything. I just wished I lived closer so I could absorb her wonderful spirit even more 💗

I came across Sam's home birth group when I was pregnant with my second. It was March, the world had gone into lock down. I was scared, doctors were trying to coerce me into induction on the basis of 'borderline gestational diabetes'. I was bullied by a consultant and I posted in Sam's group asking for advice. Sam spent over an hour of her own evening, without taking payment and not gaining anything by talking to me on the phone. Not just giving me useful advice but also just getting to know me. Sam is such a beautiful and selfless human being inside and out. The work she does is INCREDIBLE. She has completely changed my way of thinking, given me confidence and make my own informed choices not just around pregnancy and birth but in every day life. She is powerful. She is more of what we need on this planet!

I'm so glad I found the homebirth group. I had 0 clue when I was due my daughter that homebirths even existed! I know how silly that sounds now. The group was a book of knowledge when it came to my 'big baby' needing to be induced on my due date. In Feb 21 I had my daughter safely at home. I knew how to calm my panicked labour mind and when to speak up and use my voice instead of just automatically listening to professionals when they threatened to cut me. Again I think it's so silly now but with my first daughter I didn't consent to a lot! I had the fight behind me when my homebirth was under threat and decline unessasary intervention. That was all thanks to the homebirth group. The guides are amazing and you will not find more useful FREE tools anywhere else. Thank you Sam for facilitating such an amazing space.

Sam is the modern embodiment of the "wise women" archetype of medieval history: her intimate connection with birthing people and their families nurtures and cherishes the relationship between birthing parent & baby, as well as encouraging those in her care to find their voices, trust their instincts and to embrace their innate divine feminine power. Her unwavering support never falters. Her Facebook groups - 'The Village' and 'Home Birth Support UK' allow people access to important resources that will assist them in their pregnancy & parenting journeys. She is a font of evidence-based knowledge, and empowers people to (quite rightly) question the status quo within the "maternity care : birthing parent" dyad. At the expense of her own time, Sam has selflessly founded and nourished an entire online community that provides lasting support to thousands, and in doing so has created an amazing remote village for likeminded parents & caregivers. She is invaluable to so many people, myself included. Forever grateful for the wisdom she possesses and the resources she freely offers.

Sam is one awesome human. She cares about women and their families. She cares/supports and empowers. She is honest, trustworthy and an amazing advocate for all. I sadly didn’t know her when I was pregnant but I wish I had. As a mum of four beautiful kids and having lots of ‘services’ involved over the years from social services/ mental health services and third sector charities I feel that the group she runs for families is non judgemental and a safe space. She ensures that. And that’s what I love about it the most. The Village is a safe space for families to say what they are feeling and thinking . The parent/carers there are the best group of people.
