Sam was a great help throughout my pregnancy and without the support I would never have known what to do with my BBA baby and probably would have gone into hospital as the home birth service was suspended

Sam has a wealth of knowledge & experience that she shares freely on her social platforms to make a difference. All forms of her birthwork have great, positive impact 💗 Peace on earth begins at birth & having the emotional support from a doula as well-versed as Sam is more beneficial in promoting physiological birth than medical support because birth is a physiological process where you need to feel safe & trusting of the people present. In general - birth is not a medical emergency & by having a doula you reduce the chances of having an unnecessarily medicalised birth & the resulting trauma that often follows. I highly recommend checking out Sam's work & becoming fully informed on your choices in birth 💞

I've been working through one of Sam's online paid courses and I'm also in a couple of her Facebook groups. The information in the paid course really blows similar but more expensive courses out of the water, i thoroughly recommend it.
Her presence in her Facebook groups is also invaluable, and she always supports those who seem to need it. This lady is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things birthing and her passion for her craft really shines through in all that she does. She empowers women to believe in themselves and arm themselves with facts and knowledge. I just wish I had found her work 3 years ago when pregnant with my first child, but at least it's not too late for baby no.2!

Sam was my Doula for my 4th child and what an amazing doula she was too. My wonderful Home birth turned into an emergency c-section for a prolapsed cord and Sam was there every step of the way. First supporting my husband while I was in op and then us both when I came out and then me through the following days and weeks. I can honestly say having her there in the hospital after the CS when my husband had to return home to care for our eldest made a potentially very traumatic and scary time, sooooo much better, she helped me with latching and changing baby, bringing me drinks and food, even brushing my hair, but most of all just being there holding space, letting me feel relaxed enough to sleep and just listening and listening when I needed to talk it all through and out. I couldn't have asked for better, she was worth every penny and then so much more. I am/have also been members of both her birthing groups and they are first class, clearly filled with all her passion, love and hard work.

I can honestly say since crossing paths with Sam online 2 years ago she has changed my life. She gave me the confidence and the power to take charge of my birth and to advocate for my own wishes. It was because of this that I had my absolutely amazing, healing home birth after 3 negative previous experiences. Sam is a fountain of knowledge, experience, passion and above all, support. Sam dedicates her life to the work that she does and it shows in the outcomes of her support groups/ clients. I have also made purchases from Sam’s shop and her handmade products are just so lovely and well worth the money. To me this woman is a goddess sent to change this world for the better.

These groups are amazing - very supportive, lots of useful advice, and a caring community that supports women however they birth. I recommend them to every pregnant friend, no matter what sort of birth they want.

I 100% recommend Samantha and her FB group ‘Home Birth Support Group UK’. Due to the cancellation of the home birth service in my area I ended up freebirthing. Without the knowledge of Sam and the wonderful people in the group I don’t think I would have had the confidence or knowledge to do it. With her knowledge I was able to birth the placenta naturally on the 4th time of trying. I wish every pregnant person could join the group as however you end up birthing it would be a better experience. I’ll never have the words to be able to explain the impact Sam had on my birth or thank her enough - and I’ve never even met her! The support she offers people is unbelievable and I really don’t know how she does it.

As I was looking on the Internet for ressources about women birthing on their own, I came across this beautiful pearl. Samantha Gadsden Doula is leading an amazing FB group called "Freebirth and Emergency Childbirth Support Group UK" full of birth stories (freebirth and homebirths, transfers, and births in hospital), that inspire and encourage. Besides that, she's filled up the guides with valuable information that are of scientific nature and is helping loads of women make their own informed decision about their own births. In no time I was fully equipped, (in and outside) to peacefully go into a freebirth with my second daughter. It was an empowering experience that has equipped me on every level for anything in life! 🙂

Thank you so much to Sam for all the support provided in her groups. I am so grateful. I don't have much support around but just knowing the groups are there and that space is held makes such a difference.

I have a birth catcher that is so beautiful, the video that went with it was a wonderful touch and made it so personal. I could feel the magic and support as soon as I touched it. My baby was born into love, safety and peace at home with the birth catcher hanging nearby, and now everytime the sun shines through the window I'm reminded of the magic I felt the day he was born. My older children also love chasing the rainbows it creates!

I also attended a stages of birth workshop and it was just wonderful! It was a couple of weeks before my homebirth and I had been struggling a lot with anxiety and previous birth trauma. The workshop was so informative, relaxed and friendly and there was a part at the end about flowers growing in a garden that resonated with my current situation so much. I left the workshop feeling relaxed, confident and held.

Sam goes the extra 100 miles to help pregnant women and birthing people. In a sea of negativity about women's bodies and their capabilities, Sam offers positivity, and a space where women can do some practical problem solving, or more often than not, non problem solving! Sam's offerings are sometimes misunderstood as being simply about promoting natural birth. In truth she is an advocate for EVERY woman to choose the birth that is right for her. I know she would fight just as hard for a woman who wanted to choose an elective caesarean as much as she would advocate for a women who felt pulled towards birth with minimal support. She recognizes that a woman's birth choices are her own to make and noone else's! A true gem in the birth world.

Sam has been an incredible support during both my pregnancies and the period between where I suffered PND and PTSD. Her free and paid educational services are invaluable to all birthing people as are her accompanying support groups. I’d recommended Sam and her services to anyone having their babies or just interested in the birth world and/or birth activism.
I’ve particularly adored Sams pagan influence in her work, as a pagan myself it’s something I’m always pleased to see.

My first birth drowned out my voice and my connection with the world, nature, mammal inside with unnecessary medical intervention. I was determined to take responsibility for my birth and my baby along with my husband.It was messy, bloody sweaty and loud wrapped in oxytocin with my family and I wouldn’t change a thing. 100% recommend having someone like Sam in your corner - may it be as a Doula, small business owner or everyday online support. Unfortunately (and with huge disappointment) I didn’t get my homebirth last year for my first baby but I’m still glad I found Sam’s Homebirth Facebook group and her sister Group The Village for all round general support before and after my birth - two of the most freeing, open minded and nonjudgmental groups out there. All managed and organised by Sam for free; who is a genuine, kind and selfless free spirit.

Sam is a wonderful supportive birth professional. She uses he wisdom and knowledge to empower birthing people. That empowerment is a gift that we can carry with us well beyond birth. Her fierce and consistent advocacy for us to know and own our bodies and our births is sadly revolutionary. She does challenging work in an emotive area with deep deep integrity and humanity. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
