Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. Trying to setup an account, have provided the necessary documents and they are STILL asking for further documents - they'll be asking for a stool sample and my DNA sequence next! Absolutely infuriating and you can't get through to speak to anyone - DONT BOTHER.
Major mistakes have occurred on my bank account
Major mistakes have occurred on my bank account twice in the last two months. No one seems to know why these errors are happening; they blame them on their computer system. I haven’t been receiving my interest. I logged a complaint but received no answer when I followed up. I’m told the customer service team will be in contact, but they can’t give me a time frame. There are long wait times on the phone to get through to an advisor. I logged another complaint last week, and, mysteriously, my interest appeared in my account today. How do I even know it's for the correct amount? No explanation, nothing. I've lost complete faith in this bank. I’m closing my account and warning others.
Awful
Awful. I have two savings accounts with them I can't access either due to the ridiculously unnecessary security. Once you finally get past the first log in they send you a one off authentication, every time, mixed up letters & numbers which you can't paste which gives you 30 seconds to remember. Trash. Avoid.
They Sell very cheap Products
They Sell very cheap Products. And they pack it really bad too. The quality was absolute garbage and 2K down the drain
Tried to open a Cahoot savings account
Tried to open a Cahoot savings account, received letters with user name and security number for initial setup. During initial setup it kept failing stating technical problem and eventually sent me back to login again. I could no longer use the letter details again nor the login id and number I tried to set up so can no longer set up the account. I don't want an account with a company whose systems don't work so will forget it.
On the 10th September I went to login…
On the 10th September I went to login to my online account and inadvertently entered the wrong 5 digit passcode. I then entered the correct one and was greeted with a page saying the system was unable to log me in with those details.
I tried again a couple of times but had no luck so thought I'd try the forgotten details section of the website. This section said I would need my mobile phone to hand to complete the process online. I thought great and followed the steps only for it to end with having to have new security cfedentials sent out via mail leaving me locked out of my account until it arrived.
On the 14th September I received the first letter which contained my user name (which I already knew) advising I needed to wait until the second letter with a new security code arrived.
Over the course of the week I tried to login with my original correct details but still had no access.
On the 22nd September the new code arrived in the mail on a letter dated 11th September and I tried to access the account but the new credentials didn't work. I called customer support at 14:39 and was told that my attempts to login between the new credentials being requested and them finally arriving had invalidated them and the only way forward was to try to reset over the phone but this attempt failed so I would have to have another set of letters sent by mail. I was advised not to attempt to login again as this would cancel the second set that had been sent out.
I asked about closing the account and transferring my money to my linked current account but was told that would probably take longer as I would be issued a cheque which again would add time to me being unable to access my account.
It is now the 3rd October and I still don't have the new letters and therefore no access to my account or money.
Avoid, terrible company and looking recently I am not alone
Snail mail in use for new log in details.
No mobile digital banking available just online and phone calls.
Log-in issues some of it my fault but I will have to wait for yet another 2 letters to arrive next week in the Royal Mail post.
Annoying it takes so long to get back in to your account (yet another week to wait for the 2nd time as the new replacement security number did not work) even if it was maybe my fault for forgetting the correct security number, 3 strikes and you are out, then it is ages waiting to contact CS/ an agent on the phone.
Banking security is very important but Cahoots systems remind me of banking in the 1990s
There is no app either for the digital mobile age.
Terrible customer experience
Terrible customer experience. Signup takes weeks then the details they send dont work. Then hour long waits to speak to someone. The slightly higher savings interest is not worth it
I wish to make a formal complaint about…
I wish to make a formal complaint about cahoots regarding the repeated failure to send my security letters, which has left me unable to access my account.
I have now requested replacement security letters on two separate occasions and, despite being advised that they had been sent, neither set has been received. As a result, I have been locked out of my account for over two weeks.
This situation has caused significant inconvenience. The lack of access has also resulted in me being late making payments, which is unacceptable and has caused unnecessary stress and concern.
Having researched this issue, I note that other customers appear to have reported similar problems with security letters not being received. This raises concerns about the reliability of the process and whether adequate measures are in place to ensure customers can access their accounts when required. While I appreciate security requirements are important, they should not prevent customers from accessing their own money for extended periods due to failures in the delivery process.
Please treat this as a formal complaint and provide a written response.
This bank welcomes large deposits for…
This bank welcomes large deposits for fixed term savings. However, when your fixed term matures, they appear surprised that you want to withdraw the full amount. Outdated verification systems, withdrawals too easily blocked. Spent 75 minutes speaking to 4 different agents to get my on line banking unblocked and my own funds returned to me. Never again !!!
AVOID PLEASE
Opening an account took 2 weeks, had to wait to receive two different letters (WHY???) Once opened, you can only have one account, to add another saving account (e.g., Sunny day), you need submit another application (and you have to make sure every information submitted is the same, if not, you will have even more problems). You can opt for upgrade, but you need an easy access saver, that requires the "upgrade". No app, can only access with web, and once logged it is where the real nightmare is. I honestly regret choosing this.
Feels like a scam and now they have…
Feels like a scam and now they have locked my money up I think because I told them I would take my money out due to bad service!
I took a 4.55 interest instant access account! Then a few weeks later I wanted to add the extra 5% as an extra on the side where you can only add 3k! It wasn’t clear exactly how to do this, so, as it had the sign right there I clicked upgrade account! It turned the whole account into the 5% but in fact because there was more inside jt turned all the interest rate down to 0! So I thought ok I will try and go back, which it wouldn’t let me so I had to open it all again only to see that they had take about0.2% lower interest rate! I tried calling, took ages for them to get back to me! They know I’m abroad so I told them to send a number I could call, but they didn’t! I called back and was told again nothing could be done! I told them I would move my money out and leave a bad review on Trust pilot! Now I tried to move well within my daily limits some of my money, and first they said they are stopping it because they think it might be a scam, and then locked me out of the account! I’m abroad so the number they provided I couldn’t use, and the other number is not working on a Sunday! Which seems ridiculous because many people need to do their banking on the weekend! I have had such a bad experience with Cahoot! The whole interface is badly designed, and it’s clunky and very old school! And now I feel like they have trapped my money! I’m highly disappointed with them! They should make it easier to contact them if they are going to lock you out! I remember years ago my mum had a Santander account and when she died they did some unfair things, my dad always told me not to use Santander! Now I see why!
Absolutely fed up of being locked out…
Absolutely fed up of being locked out of account because security details are supposedly wrong. They're not!
Now have to wait for snail mail to send me new log in info. but we're only getting one delivery a week because Royal Mail is similarly shocking.
Can't access my money in the meantime. As soon as I do get in I'm moving my money elsewhere. What a shambles.
Would not recommend if you want the ability to access your own money
I am currently locked out of my Cahoot account (it is not allowing me to log in with the username and password, which I know is 100% correct), and when I try to call either of the phone numbers on the website, they hang up, and so I have no way to access my money that they are holding.
Been good for me
I have seen many negative reviews, but for me I haven't had a single problem. The account was opened easily, I have paid money in and take out. I rdceivd the monthly interest as expected and the 4% rate is good.
I can only recommend if.
Avoid Cahoot
Very long telephone wait times. Overly strict security. After 45 minutes on the phone told to send in a letter. Once logged in and verified I was further blocked access to my account by security for trying to transfer £300 to my own account at another provider which was already identified as my account. Frankly I wish I’d not opened an account with Cahoot. I have not experienced such a poor banking experience elsewhere.
At the time of application interest…
At the time of application interest rate was 4.52% by the time they sent login details by snail mail (2 weeks) rate had dropped 1% and they would not honour original rate.
Thank goodness I logged off and tried…
Thank goodness I logged off and tried to log back in BEFORE depositing any money, because apparently now it's not recognising my security number. I have tried both the one I was sent in the post AND the one I was prompted to make... what happened to the password I created, where can I input that?! Also, now on hold, for what should be 20 mins plus... and to add insult, my hold assist wont recognise the difference between their Muzak and their recorded message... so keeps telling me to pick up. So glad I didn't put any money in....

What can open but can't close?
I've been operating a Cahoot savings account for 10 months. Opening and operation was fine - but now I wish to close it - oh dear. Attempt 1 - send them a secure message. Cahoot response to Attempt 1 - after a week, send an automatic "sorry, we're too busy to deal with your request" response. Attempt 2, a week after attempt 1 - phone them up - assured that closure was in hand and the remaining interest and closure statement would follow within 2-14 days. Attempt 3 - phone up to initiate a formal complaint; I was informed that closure has not been requested on my account. Try elsewhere.
