The vehicle was dirty, the backup camera was disabled, the rear bed was broken, and the front bed cushions were too big for the bed frame (making it impossible to use); the generator was broken, the RV batteries wouldn't hold a charge, and the generator didn't work to recharge them.
Result: we had to throw away the meat we had bought for a barbecue.
Excessive play in the steering almost caused an accident on a day with crosswinds.
To top it all off—A RAT ON BOARD!
I had to spend two nights at a very expensive hotel in Banff because the smell of urine was unbearable and I needed to try to catch the animal with a trap.
We eventually caught it, but we had to throw out all the food stored in the cabinets and drawers, and wash every single plate, pot, utensil, piece of bedding, etc.
I requested a refund for the two nights, but they replied saying they would refund US$300, even though it actually cost me US$1,500.

We had a great experience but…
We had a great experience but definitely needed to refer to the booklet to solve issues. It would have been helpful to explain what DEF was; not owning a diesel vehicle left us puzzling! Thankfully a mechanic friend explained it to us over the phone. Apart from the DEF issue the vehicle was a marvel over the 11,000 km. travelled in five weeks. The camper had deficiencies from prior use but served our purpose well considering we drive the Dempster. In all a great fit.

Nearly new RV / Big vehicle
The RV was practically new, very clean, and easy to operate. The orientation was provided in German by a German-speaking CanaDream staff member. The vehicle is over 9 meters long and weighs nearly 7 tons. It helps to have previous experience driving such large vehicles (large turning radius, etc.). Pick-up and drop-off were completely hassle-free. The downside was the additional fees charged for specific pick-up and drop-off times during regular business hours.

A great trip with one avoidable technical issue
We travelled through Western Canada in a CanaDream motorhome for just over two weeks and overall had a very good experience. The RV was new, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Apart from the battery issue described below, everything worked perfectly and the motorhome allowed us to enjoy a wonderful and memorable trip.
Unfortunately, we experienced problems with the house battery. The hotline was always reachable (phone or e-mail), although we sometimes had to wait quite a long time. The problem could not be resolved over the phone, so we had to make a detour to the CanaDream location in Calgary. Once there, the issue was identified and fixed very quickly and easily. In our opinion, direct access to a technician by phone or email could probably have saved us this unnecessary detour. This is the only reason why we are deducting one star.
Both the pick-up and return of the RV were quick and straightforward, and the agreed times were kept very well. Overall, we were very satisfied and would rent from CanaDream again.

Observations
- Making gravel roads accessible, many beautiful areas in the parks are only accessible via gravel roads
- We noticed that leveling chocks for uneven parking spots were missing; these appear to be standard equipment on Fraserway vehicles, for example.
- During the orientation, the employee left the outlet valve for the black water tank open. As a renter, I initially assumed that this was the normal setting. It wasn’t until after we used it for the first time that we were able to identify this obvious mistake.

We had a great experience
We had a great experience, all staff were friendly and helpful. The extra packs were much needed although these could be improved with additional items such as a bath mat, plastic cups or additional glassware, picnic table cloth and outdoor mat to use on camp grounds. It would be nice to use the canopy.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow for first timers. The vehicle was spotless and no issues at all. We found driving straightforward. Just planning needed for where is suitable in the Rockies. We spent 13 nights touring over 2700km and had an amazing time.

Absolutely brilliant holiday but beware the niggles
Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic experience with a Canadreams RV this summer. We rented an MH-L from Vancouver and dropped it off in Calgary, covering over 2,000 km's in nearly 3 weeks. Coming from the UK, I would describe the vehicle as big (34 ft long), wide and quite powerful (having an E-450 superduty 7.3L V8 engine) and it took a bit of getting used too. The secret is to go wide on corners and generally slower than you are used to. The vehicle was spotless and seemed virtually new. We had loads of space for 3 (mum, dad and teenager). The kitchen was great with everything you need (we bought the kitchen pack). Cooking was easy.
The vehicle was easy to drive and everything worked well. You need to get used to the cab overhang and a Bluetooth phone for nav and music is essential. Parking and reversing are easy so long as you have your team guiding you about. We had no problems.
We had a few minor niggles but nothing serious.
These are:
1. Bed niggle. The bedding situation was okay but not great. The rear mattresses are "very" hard. The mattress above the cab seemed better. The pillows are non-existent (one very thin, low-quality pillow each) so we needed a trip to Walmart. Canadreams could be a little more generous with the pillows (number and quality). We also needed to ask for an extra duvet. However, the space, air ventilation, window blinds and over-bed storage was great. Our teenager seemed very comfortable over the cab. Lots of space and good ventilation.
2. Button niggle. Canadreams have good pre-rental training videos on how everything works. We watched these several times before our holiday. This gave us confidence that we didn't need the $100 training hour at pick-up. However, what you are not told, in any overt way, is that some of the vehicles are configured differently. For example, the video explains how to make the hot water work from the control panel. Our vehicle, however, didn't have those buttons on the control panel. It was only the next day, we discovered a secondary panel in the bathroom. Whilst this was a frustrating delay in getting some hot water, we enjoyed the feeling that we were the first humans to discover fire.
3. Camping chair niggle. We paid extra (Can $60) to have 3 folding camping chairs for the trip. They were old, dirty and a bit motheaten. On arriving at Walmart, I saw brand new, nicer large camping chairs for Can $10 each. You have that momentary feeling of being duped by your holiday company. Come on Canadreams - the camping chairs should be standard free issue (especially if you can buy then for $10 each).
4. Final niggle. Needless-to-say, we were very excited and nervous about our big Canada RV adventure. This was our first RV road trip. When we excitedly arrived at the Vancouver depot, I presented myself to the lady on reception. Not only was she the first Canadreams representative we had met, but she was also probably one of the first Canadians we had met (having just arrived from the UK the night before). I said hello and gave her my surname. She looked at me coldly and said in gruff tones, "okay, stop. What are we doin' here? Checking in, checking out? What's going on? It's very busy here today". I was totally staggered by this approach. No warm welcome. No welcome to Canadreams. We were then directed to seats in the corner and told to wait until our names were called. Admittedly there were other families around, but it wasn't that busy that morning at 10am but we scurried across the waiting area to keep out of the way. We felt a bit deflated and like we had done something wrong. Had we made some terrible cultural gaff when approaching a Canadian for the first time? We didn't know but we hoped this was not going to set the tone for our Canadreams experience. Happily, not. The lady who managed our vehicle hand-over was much more friendly and professional.
Apart from these minor niggles, we had a fantastic holiday from start to finish, and the RV was just great. Not too big, not too small. Very new, clean, comfortable (you get used to the beds) and we felt like kings of the road.

Great RV
Our RV was lovely better than expected it seemed fairly new which helps. We had a fantastic trip.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I found it very strange that we paid for kitchen equipment pots pans etc & were all very good and had everything we needed but was only given 2 knives 2 folks 2 spoons 2 plates & cups & 2 glasses. This was very frustrating when you are cooking and preparing food this definitely needs looking at I would expect at least a set of 4 items of each. We had to stop in Walmart and purchase a few extras and a sink plug as this was missing. You do get a chance to check everything before you leave the pickup and we weren’t rushed at all but it’s hard to think of everything you might need. I also thought the toilet paper & tablet were expensive 10 dollars for 4 toilet rolls and one chemical sachet we found these so much cheaper in camping equipment outlets.
The whole experience was excellent just some minor issues that could easily be sorted.

MHL RV Rental with 15k on Clock
We had a MHL rental with 15k on clock for 2 of us. with full Platinum package.
Not the best RV for price paid for 9 Days.
Expected better quality.
But then we own a top spec Frankia Platin in UK.
Yes they charge for extras but this i agree with as you choose options for what you require or want.
But lining supplied didn't fit beds.
lawn chairs are rubbish.
Small towels.
Didn't ask for a Mouse Mate.
Handover wasn't the best very little instruction and when asked the woman at desk got blunt unhelpful answers.
Even to try to find brake release.
Her comment was its in Brale on the left of steering wheel.
If a bloke would have flattened him. my nephew was born blind.
She just didn't want to get of her Arse. her assistant helped in the end.
Was told generator hours use would be charged found at end was all included.
Very poor instructions on Conventional Oven waste of time.
Wasn't allowed to use awning.
Cheap American RV....
Trip was fine but wouldn't choose this time of year (July/August) due to wild fires and smoke pollution.
Most of Rockies was in Fog.
Also too many tourists and not enough campground availability. I learned they are all booked up the first week in April when bookings open. not ideal for rentals. not Canadream Fault but worth mentioning.
Also the so called Journey Rewards Card is a joke. got SFA on fuel filled up $300 and no fuel discount. next stop asked in garage and still no discount. so drove 300mtrs up road and paid $ 1.65 p/l instead of $1.82 at Chevron.
still $300 to fill up.
did about 2500km in the 9 Days.
We plan to travel more in USA and Canada with 10 year tourist visa, but would look to purchase rather than rent now.

Excellent service
We have just returned from a wonderful four-week trip through Canada with a CanaDream motorhome and are very happy with our experience.
The pick-up in Vancouver went very smoothly. Everything was well explained, and the motorhome itself was great and had everything we needed for our trip.
What impressed us most was the excellent customer service throughout our journey. Whenever we had a question or a problem, the CanaDream team responded extremely quickly and immediately helped us find a solution. When you are travelling for four weeks in a foreign country, it is very reassuring to know that you can always reach someone and that help is available within a very short time.
The return in Vancouver was just as easy and straightforward as the pick-up. Everything was checked together, the whole process was very quick, and there were no problems at all.
After four weeks and many kilometres with the motorhome, we can definitely say that we are very happy with our experience. From pick-up to support during the trip and finally the return, we felt very well looked after by CanaDream.
We had a fantastic four weeks in Canada and would definitely rent from CanaDream again. Highly recommended!

Team was helpful
Team was helpful, young lady checking us in was very good. One suggestion is the team know more about the rvs. Maybe they could use one for a day/evening to be more knowledgeable…a few points she told us about weren’t reliable (tv does work on wifi for instance, propane needs to be on for heater to work etc)

RV was great, rented extras not so good.
RV was good, handover comprehensive and useful. Vehicle was in excellent condition and everything worked well.
Chairs we rented were not great quality or comfortable, for the price you could just buy the basic ones at Walmart but we didn’t want to do that. Maybe Canadream should rent out better chairs.
Kitchen pack we rented wasn’t great, no cups, just glasses so we had to buy cups along the way.
Other than those two gripes we were really happy with Canadream, the service we got and the end to end experience.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE
If you want to spend ridiculous amounts of money, this is the RV company to go with. They have so many hidden costs, I’m surprised there is not a charge for breathing while inside the RV. Their customer service is abysmal, it’s a complete money racket. Ridiculous charges for extra kilometres and for generator use. We had a minor accident in the RV and they are insisting on replacing a door that is fully functional and could undergo cosmetic repair, while refusing to allow a third party to review the damage. They are an extremely greedy company with absolutely no sympathy or compassion, as long as they get their money that is all that matters. I cannot stress this enough, do not rent/buy an RV from this company they are awful.

Great Quality
Great Quality of the Campervan. Everything very up to date and clean. No misses. Outstanding friendly staff. Just a very minor remark w/r to ancillary equipment: power cables for coffee machine and toaster are a bit short. But that does not impact the 5 of 5 rating.
