I’m writing to raise a complaint…
I’m writing to raise a complaint regarding a recent purchase and my experience in-store.
I purchased a jacket from your Newcastle store on Thursday 2nd. After just 24 hours of wear, the stitching began to fray, which I believe clearly indicates a fault in the product.
I returned to the store on Monday 6th to resolve the issue. However, I was advised by the manager that it was “not a fault” and was told to return only once the item had completely broken. I found this response unreasonable and dismissive, particularly given the issue was already visible after minimal use.
For comparison, I took the same jacket to another store, where it was inspected and confirmed to be faulty.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality. As this issue arose within 30 days of purchase, I am exercising my right to reject the item and request a full refund.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter promptly. I would also like this experience to be reviewed, as the handling of the situation fell below the level of customer service I would expect from your brand.

Horrible return experience
The website suggested the wrong size, and the return process has been EXTREMELY difficult and frustrating. Will never consider buying from Carhartt again.

Placed an order for a jacket, had it cancelled. Jacket reappeared in stock, so placed another order, which was cancelled. Jacket appeared again in stock, so ordered it a third time. Cancelled. Appeared in stock a fourth time, so re-ordered, but cancelled a fourth time. You can see the pattern...
Refunds take 3-7 WORKING DAYS to process, so they have 4 x £129.50 of mine that I am waiting to be refunded.
Online ordering system not fit for purpose, as it allows orders to be placed and payments taken for items that they do not have in stock.

The only reason I’m giving it a 4 stars because it’s bit on a pricey side, and I wish it was slightly softer on the inside. it’s comfortable, but not super plush.

I would expect the management of support at this level either from a newborn low level company or from a shady one. The truth they are simply not organized to give a quality treatment and probably don't care of the customers. It took more than a month to have a refund from an order that never arrived. but the most tedious aspect is the time wasted with their support process with emails and procedures that were irritatingly unhelpful
Women’s insulated bibs do not fit.
I have a pair of women’s carhartt bibs that I purchased in 1997 and I still wear them! They are very very worn but they have always fit great. I want to replace them but the product that carhartt now sells may fit some woman but it won’t fit this one! In addition the leg zippers should go all the way to the waist like my old ones. They should also have a front zipper as do my previous pair. I’m willing to pay for this but they don’t even offer these features that I can see. The designer is either a man or a woman who has never needed to squat behind a bush while wearing bibs!! Besides all the excess material in the “area between your legs” makes me think they were designed by a man. I tried on a pair of small/short women’s bibs and they are huge. Ended up replacing my favorites with a different brand that fit better but still didn’t have the features I wanted!
Absolutely awful company to buy from
Absolutely awful company to buy from. How in this age of online shopping they can take 7 working days to deliver something I dont get. They take a minimum of 4 days to even get it to UPS. And today the they cancelled my order and advised id get my money back in 3-7 days!! So I bought something, you took my money and you don’t actually have it in stock. I mean come on Carhartt, I know you’re a huge company and clearly have zero regard for your customers but your online shopping experience is appalling

Unsatisfactory response to complaint with tshirt bought online
I bought a t-shirt, and washed it as per the usual laundry guidelines and it came out of the machine covered in a strange residue. None of the other items in the wash had this residue on it, just this tshirt. I sent photos to Carhartt enquiring about the return and refund processes in this instance but I've been told by Sabrina (one of their complaints reps) they reject my claim, the fault cannot have happened at their factory and quoted me German Civil Codes. In effect, they've suggested dishonesty on my part about the issue in order to try get a refund. They closed the claim without any resolution, and Sabrina's engagement with me was curt and unhelpful, to say the least. The item is faulty and the issue will be escalated as per EU Consumer Codes.
