Not sufficiently well trained staff

I have just had a nightmare with Halifax credit card. Lebara took money from my Halifax account and it still carried on despite my letters and phone calls to both organisations. Basically Halifax said it was all down to me sorting it out with Lebara. In the end I closed my accounts with the Halifax and I hope this has solved the problem.

Rubbish car insurance from Halifax

Rubbish car insurance from Halifax. They take your money then when you need to make a claim they are not interested just pass you onto the insurance company they have put you with.
They are only insurance agents and not interested in your needs just your money.

I've just updated my Samsung OS on my phone which notifies me whenever my front facing camera is active by using a green indicator light on the screen. I always use hands free speaker when I call and sure enough when you are speaking on the phone with Halifax they are spying on you as my camera was in use during the call and when I hung up the green light went out. This is invasion of privacy and surely has to be illegal. This is very bad

Awful conduct by Halifax Credit Card…

I have literally almost been bought to tears due to the number of times I've had to call this company over the last few months only to sit in long queues (today 1 hr 58 mins), passed from team to team, talking to people who don't seem to know what they're talking about or follow any real process (in fact, there was a distinct lack of 'robust enough' one throughout my experience) and they often contradicted each other, telling me quite different things apologising for teams who 'told me the wrong information'. They actually initially settled my fraud issue really quickly only to backtrack a number of times since then requiring me to call and get caught in a loop of conversations needing to reconfirm myself when the information confirmed that the transactions hadn't been made by me. They didn't seem to pay any attention to any details or the history I'd built up speaking with various people - I'd always have to start from the beginning on each call.

They often leave the onus with you to chase them or to have to prove yourself, and then this information is simply disregarded. I didn't get one piece of correspondence during the whole thing bar a new card (of course they'd hate to see you stop spending right?!).

In my view, this whole experience has amounted to negligence, a lack of any real concern or care, and quite frankly a lack of being able to follow a standard or of conduct appropriate for issues of this sensitivity or severity - all of which I fully intend to hold them to account for. They also exert control and power over your claim and your position which I think should be reviewed.

Experiencing fraud is stressful enough and you don't bank (pun intended) on having to factor the bad practice and service of Halifax over the top of that.

It's taken almost three months to resolve and I'm emotionally drained although not enough to not have the energy to write a strong letter to the Ombudsman about their conduct and close my account.

They even offered me £20 on a complaint I've raised to close the complaint down - an absolute joke (told them they could keep their money).

I also hold them partially accountable for the fraud for two reasons 1) not having proper/sufficient systems in place to trigger alerts for transactions that clearly weren't being made by me and 2) for subsequent 'scam' phones calls I've had that seem to be from people know that I've made a claim that could only have come from information they could have only gotten from Halifax directly. Halifax themselves have even confirmed that whilst the calls weren't being made by them, that it was strange that the calls would be happening around the same time. There must be some security, system or internal vulnerabilities that are being exposed and exploited here. Someone needs to review this asking more of them about this and possibly ensuring the right accountability is attributed if there are vulnerabilities.

Once my complaint is dealt with, I'm running a mile.

I made a bad choice of car insurance…

I made a bad choice of car insurance when I decided to use Halifax. I associated it with the bank I have banked with for more than twenty years, the bank is good ! However the car insurance service is awful , god knows what would happened in a claim.
I paid 10 direct debits on time without fail , but stop after the 10th payment because I had sold the car. I got in touch with them and the guy at customer services said I had over paid £14 .They then said I owed 55.00 admin charge less the £14 OVER paid leaving £41.00 to pay. They said it would be taken from my card so ok fine. OH NO I get threatening letters from Halifax saying I need to pay or debt collection agency will be involved etc etc, they obviously did not take the money. So I phoned the number today they gave me and paid the money only to find in my account it was in fact a debt collectio agency I had paid !!. This is all in the space of 10 days since they last took my direct debit. Awful.

My account was recently frozen by…

My account was recently frozen by Halifax after over two months ago somebody put a deposit of £150 into my bank for a private sale.
This person then backed out of the deal and I refused to give him his deposit back.
He then called the bank (two months after) to state I had scammed him?

Currently my bank has been frozen since last Friday, I have called Halifax numerous times and they keep telling me they cannot tell me anything or give me a timeframe when my bank will be unblocked?

So now I’ve missed a mortgage payment because of them..absolutely disgusting customer service!!

I’m switching banks as soon as I can.

I bought a car insurance from Halifax

I bought a car insurance from Halifax, paid in full and they obviously took the money straight away. The policy was not due to start until 3 weeks later. The next day I called and cancelled the policy and was told the refund will take 8 days. Two weeks later, I am still waiting for the money. Called them just now, "it will take 8 days from today sir"! In the meantime, Halifax Credit Card (used to pay with), is charging me interest on the money. Poor, very poor Halifax.

Rubbish Online Service

I have power of attorney over my mother's accounts with the Halifax and trying to make a simple online transfer of her funds to pay carehome fees. This did not work so I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with their staff (all working from home) to sort out 3 payments - 2 were processed but the third was not possible for reasons unknown. All issues were said to have been resolved and that the last transfer could be made today but sadly that was not the case. Another 30 minutes to try to resolve only for the telephone operative then not to be able to find the account (which I was looking at online at the time). Unbelievebly incompetent and frustrating from what used to be a well respected building society. Now providing a rubbish online service.

No B&Q Voucher

Called twice to see why I hadn't received the £50 B&Q voucher as offered with the online car insurance through the Halifax online website and it turns out that because I had entered a quote ref number from Compair the Market that I actually wasnt entitled to the £50 B&Q voucher. If I wasn't entitled, surely the website shouldn't have asked which voucher I wanted!
Im not a mind reader.
Apparently you need to do the whole quote on the website and not add any reference numbers in there. Pathetic, total rip off. Paid for the whole year upfront and even with this being a simple mistake they wound not consider honering it.

I have been insured with Halifax car…

I have been insured with Halifax car insurance for a couple of years and unfortunately this year I have had to make a claim, through no fault of mine. I reported the accident to Halifax car insurance and 12 days later I am still waiting for a date of the repair to my car. I keep ringing and getting fobbed off, always someone to blame for the delay, the first problem was not able to agree terms with my preferred repairers and then I had to agree to use Halifax preferred repairers. I am still waiting for a date for them to take a look to see what damage has been done to my car. As far as I am concerned Halifax car insurance is a complete waste of time and I will never use them to insure again. If I could have given them a minus star rating I would have. Sty well clear of Halifax car insurance,

Avoid I bought a new car contacted them…

Avoid I bought a new car contacted them for a price for the new car to be told they won’t insure the new car and give me a new quote from a different underwriter that was double the price to be told if I cancel the policy it would cost me a £55 fee considering they wouldn’t insure the new car I find this absolutely disgusting.

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. Customer service is appalling. I held in to speak to someone fir over an hour. They provided a hire car which stank of smoke. I have tried and tried to get hold of Minster law to discuss my personal injury claim. It is now nearly 6 weeks and my car is still not repaired. Service is so bad. I am recovering from a heart bypass and don’t need all this stress for an accident which was not my fault

NEVER, EVER USING HALIFAX FOR ANYTHING AGAIN

Should have read the trustpilot reviews before sigining up to halifax car insurance. absolutely dreadful service. the worst i've ever received from a car insurance supplier. no price match, no attempt to keep a paying customer, cancellation fee that i've never ad elsewhere. no compassion for people's situations, just entice you in, then screw you once you're signed up. all these adverts they show about caring for people is a load of crap...as long as they're paid they couldn't give a damn. NEVER, EVER USING HALIFAX FOR ANYTHING AGAIN.

Thank you for your kindness and professionalism

By some error my car insurance was automatically renewed at midnight on 23rd Sept 2021. I called at 08 20 am the following morning and spoke with rep named Emma who reassured me and told me not to worry, she then passed me to customer services and an agent called Steve who again said it was no problem and after a few questions the issue was resolved by 08 30am. Thank you both for your kindness and professionalism it was greatly appreciated. Kindest regards. PDFoy.

Very dissapointed …

So very dissapointed with Halifax they are definately not a company I would recommend ! . Had accident on august 3rd when a car went into me after a couple of weeks my car was deemed as a write off .
Halifax does not deal with claim it is passed to two other companies which I was unaware of when I took my policy out with them . They have completely messed up my claim with third party insurance as they gave wrong insurance company ! I have had to investigate this myself to discover this discrepancy as I have been waiting a month for my pay out .
Halifax and the other two companies involved have never phoned or updated me since I claimed . I have held on the phone for hours just trying to get updates
It seems although Halifax took my money they do not want to get involved in my insurance claim and cannot help me !
It gets worse last week out of the blue I got a renewal notice for my car ( now in the scrap heap) it only gave me 6hrs notice . I managed after a long wait on phone to cancel it . The guy insisted I’d had a reminder which I assured him I hadn’t . Then I got two texts first one cancellation notice then second to thank me for renewing my policy !!! It’s a joke .
I chose Halifax as we bank with them abd thought they would be reputable but I’m sorry they are definately not what I thought ! I will never use them again

Avoid them at any cost

I have received an email saying that my car insurance policy will be automatically renewed. To cancel automatic renewal, first I tried to do it online on the website. But it says that cancellation of auto-renewal online is not possible and I need to contact their customer service.
I have tried to call their useless customer service many times without success.
