Castleford are Crimimal

Castleford took money from our property billed as utility payments but kept it over 2-3 years then terminated their involvement with immediate effect - no explanation. Leaving families and tenants who paid up as asked in huge debt to utility companies and without the insurance we'd already paid for. Currently seeking compensation through court. They are essentially criminal and just do not reply when you call them out. Numbers do not lie.

Roof leaks still unresolved since 2nd January 2024

I have been trying since January 2nd to have leaks to the ceilings of two of my rooms fixed. One has been fixed, and unsuccessful attempts made on to repair the other. The damage to my ceiling increases with every downpour. I’m expecting more damage tonight!
It is impossible to contact our Property Manager in any way. A call centre is the only option, which means a long wait on the phone to get through, and well meaning promises made, but NO urgent action.

They are a horrendous company
Paid my maintenance £
Then got a late 1st reminder letter
I called them & said I paid as a bank transfer!
They said not to worry they would call their finance department, asked them to let me know that all was sorted, yes they would call me back (they did not)
I heard nothing so I assumed they were busy & forgot (stupid me!) that it was all fine
Then got a late payment letter
Rang them told to ignore the letter they would deal with it!
Then got bank statement & oh hello the £ was paid back into my account?!?!
I called them 3 separate times each time told they would call me back & they did not! They give lip service but do not follow through.
I then receive solicitors letter a badly rated company who if people could give 0 stars they would ( that speaks volumes that they would deal with such a company to represent them!!!)
You can’t get hold of them, they don’t answer the phones, don’t answer emails, but via an automated response send out payment requests!!!
I called the maintenance co again & said what the hell is going on, you have done nothing to sort this, I have been waiting to hear from you to make the payment & find out what’s going on & offered evidence of payments out & back into my account, but not wanted.
I have never been so insulted in all my life & have never received any such letter in my life. I owe 0 to anybody, pay my bills on time (in full)
The area is a mess they do nothing to maintain the grounds.
I have water pouring down the outside of the house because the gutters need cleaning out
They do nothing about it!
What the hell are we paying all the money each year for this level of incompetence for??
Office staff are incompetent it’s as though they are all there on work experience !!? It’s beyond me!!!
It never used to be this way at
I have lived here for over 20 years!!
Avoid if you can at all costs

Do not go near this company

Do not go near this company. Abby King is supposed to be managing our freehold. Although holding a large sum of money transferred from the previous agent in Feb 2022 she refuses to credit refunds, as per their leases, to leaseholders who have overpaid. Also says she cannot pay contractors due to IT problems and she has "ring fenced"(?) the surplus funds.

Terrible and a disgrace

Terrible and a disgrace. A window was changed outside my flat. It is now un-openable. When asking why I was ignored then finally got a response saying "it hasn't changed" by a rude girl at Castleford management. Ridiculous response. I was then told that a "director" had said "it hasn't changed". An outright lie. i was dismissed for another couple of weeks. Then told we have no influence over it anyway and wouldn't have been told about it (The flat is a hot box in the summer). Even though a tenant (not an owner) had changed it I was told I couldn't change it back because it was "authorised by a director" (so now it has changed!?" and was given no reason for the change. No-one ever helps. Nothing productive is ever done. All the good reviews were bulk loaded and fake.

Awful

Awful. Funny how all the good (fake) reviews went up at once this year! A window changed in the block without us being told. We are now unable to open or close it. The person who asked why it had changed was completely ignored. Then we were told "it hadn't changed" by a rude unhelpful member of staff Abby.
She was dismissed for weeks and told they won't be changing it and don't have a reason for changing it and that we wouldn't have been told anyway, even though we paid for it. We were told we have no influence over it and that we couldn't change it back even though someone who rents a flat here changed it....the tenant of a "director" whatever that useless title means. We've never once had help or anything productive or positive happen. No-ones ever been round.

Poor service for leaseholders and Directors

Poor service for leaseholders and directors of management company. They purposefully leave renewals to the last minute so they can pressure you into agreeing their inflated prices. The property manager is based miles away, has never visited the property, is quite condescending and dismissive of both the concerns of leaseholders and directors. They have not solved / managed one issue since they have been our management agents. They dont get comparative quotes, they bill you for work they haven't completed (such as fire alarm testing) and when you ask them for proof, such as invoices for the company that undertook the work they cant. They are part of a wider company Qdime and they too have really poor reviews. If you are searching for a management company and reading this reviw I would strongly advise you to avoid them like the plague. We eventually moved away from Castleford, found better service with a much more reasonable price with an alternative management agent.

Just one other thing, all the other 5* reviews here seem a little suspect! All written since Jan and mention the same Castleford manager.....

So pleased to have Castleford as the Management Company

We have recently started working with Castleford as RTM companies, and I can't stop singing praises about this team. Leading to them being our designated property management company, as well as now that they are onboard, their services are superb.
I, as one of the RTM directors, am particularly pleased with the professional yet friendly approach, speed of responses, communications and support.
Really glad we've made the switch from the previous management company to Castleford.

We purchased an apartment here at…

We purchased an apartment here at Landguard Place just on the cuff of COVID so we’ve experienced a largely distanced first year. Minor issues with parking and refuse collection were resolved rapidly by Jeremy Ogborne at Qdime.
In addition Jeremy also resolved extremely swiftly an annoying issue with noise.
In a world where effective client care is paramount I am pleased to promote Qdime & Castleford Management.

Recommended.

We have been with Castleford for many years and there is no doubt that the team leaders 'make the difference.' In this respect Oliver has proved to be 'excellent' since becoming our representative and 'goes that extra mile' to overcome any problems that we may encounter quickly and efficiently.
