I agree with so many other 1-star reviews here. Their business practices are deceitful and they do not deal in good faith. I was looking for cord blood storage and after talking to the Cells4Life team I decided to do the cord blood + cord tissue package only because the promotion at the time basically made it the same cost as just getting the cord blood alone. The representative assured me that if they are not able to get the sample then I do not have to pay for the service. During my delivery, my umbilical cord snapped when the midwives were delivering the placenta. When it was taken away, we were afraid that the phlebotomist wouldn’t get a sample but the midwives said that they may be able to still get blood from the veins. Ultimately, they were not able to get the blood but did collect the tissue and send it off for processing without even giving us an option to cancel since we didn’t get the primary sample which was cord blood. Then, basically right after my birth, I start getting invoices for the full service that didn’t make any sense to me. Cord tissue alone isn’t even a service that they offer on their website by itself but I was being charged the full amount of the cord blood service, as if there was never even a discount. I tried to call and explain the situation but the manager did not offer me any reasonable solutions. She promised to talk to her superiors and give me a call back, as well as send me a copy of my contract. It has now been over a month and I haven’t heard back but continue to receive emails about the invoice and threats of legal action. I even responded to at least 3 of those emails and got absolutely nothing back from them. I only wish I could warn as many people as possible to stay away. Birth is so unpredictable and this company does not allow for the flexibility to cancel if something goes wrong that is out of your control
Great service. Fantastic communications from start to finish and a very professional approach. Everything with regards to what they did for us went extremely smoothly.

Absolutely helpful and supportive staff. We like the fact that a well experienced phlebotomist attended us and guided us ensuring the sample were collected within a specified time frame. She was genuinely kind and proactive.

Buried in the clauses are all kinds of things they dont discuss with you upfront including getting tied up into paying 25 years plus of storage fees even if you dont go ahead and even if they have no sample to even store! This can add up to circa £2000 total so be very careful. Also the phlebotomists they use are from another third party company and very unreliable - confirm with the the damage financially first if you DONT wish to go ahead after they have analysed a cord blood sample - you may be very surprised regarding the costs - they make it sound like its easy to cancel especially if sample does not meet requirements but nothing could be further from the truth.
UPDATE - their managers liased with me and were helpful in coming to a workable resolution. Its a shame the admin staff were not better trained in terms of sharing salient info when signing up but I appreciate the assistance from management.
The experience and service with Cells4Life is quite straight forward. They share as much as information that you ask for, and help you with your decision. However given that you will have to make this desicion in a stressful time - with your baby coming - and the amount of money you are investing in this, it can become stressful to do so. With the amount of uncertainty, a more relaxed and simple explanation of how the blood, or tissues are being used would make a lot of difference in reducing this stress. Currently the explanations are not as simple or adequate - especially for new parents - and therefore the follow up calls can easily come off as marketing persistence. with all that said, if I were to choose a cord blood cell and tissue service in the UK, I would go with Cells4Life
Excellent end to end service. Contract and documents were straightforward and easy to understand. Sammy and Mason were there to answer my questions and queries. Our phlebotomist, Dawn, was lovely, she called us in advance to introduce herself and then we later met her at the hospital when it was time for the baby's arrival. Everything was collected and transported to the labs without issue. The additional BabyInsight genetic testing gave us peace of mind. It was all so professional, seamless and caring, I can't recommend the service enough.

Every step we felt fully informed and supported and our Phlebotomist Samantha was so helpful. We hope our daughter never needs to use her stem cells but so pleased that we have this safe guard in place.

Fantastic service. The team were very accessible and prompt to answer all our questions before, during and after the collection. The phlebotomist service was very reliable and easy to keep up to date during labour to ensure they were available after the birth on time. Easy collection from the courier and arrived at the hospital 2 hrs after we called them. So pleased we chose to collect the stem cells in the end.

Generally a great concept and service. But it would have been nice to have a face to face call to explain through the process to put our minds at ease and answer queries we had rather than search through all the info issued.

Phlebotomist has arrived to hospital during labour and made sure he has collected the samples. Service was great. If this Cells4life is available in affordable price then it will be very helpful.

My wife and I decided to preserve blood sample for our new born. During her pregnancy she has gone through a lot and adding on to it Cell4Life made it worse. They informed us that our sample has been contaminated and they sent us 2 letters to be signed by us. Both the letters was telling us about the sample has been contaminated and they want us to decide whether we can keep it or not.
I believe its Cell4Life responsibility to update us about the pros and cons of preserving contaminated sample which they did not. Despite asking them they did not help us out, we even tried asking our GP and they told us to get in contact with Cell4Life as they are providing the service so they should know better. I firmly believe, we should be properly advised whether it's safe to preserve the contaminated sample or not as we were paying £3000 for the service.
We believe that if we are paying for any service we should get benefit out of it not to just end up paying it and then wasting our time.
Only thing they were good at was to pressurise us to sign on either of the letter and pay them.
I never want to leave any negative comment as I know every company is working hard to succeed but I was hopeless this time.
