Laura and becky instructed me throughout my 5 day intensive course and I was very happy with my outcome. coming in to makeup school I had never practiced makeup on anyone before and coming out I feel as though I can do it on anyone now thanks to the wonderful teachers!

My time at Central School of Makeup has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I started, it was clear that this is a professional, inspiring, and highly supportive environment where students are genuinely encouraged to grow and succeed.

Although I had some previous experience in makeup, the level of training, knowledge, and confidence I have gained here has far exceeded my expectations. The course is incredibly well structured, combining creativity with real industry standards, and has helped me develop both my technical skills and professional mindset.

The tutors are outstanding, patient, approachable, and exceptionally knowledgeable, with a wealth of industry experience that they generously share. They go above and beyond to support every student individually, making sure everyone feels encouraged, challenged, and capable of reaching their full potential. Their passion for teaching is evident in every lesson.

What has impressed me most is how much growth is possible in such a short space of time. In just a few weeks, I have seen a huge improvement in my artistry, confidence, speed, and understanding of the industry. I now feel far more prepared to step into the professional world of makeup artistry with confidence and ambition.

Choosing to enrol at Central School of Makeup was one of the best decisions I have made for my career. I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for their guidance, encouragement, and dedication. While I am sad that this chapter is ending, I am leaving feeling inspired, empowered, and excited for everything ahead. I would highly recommend this school to anyone serious about building a successful career in makeup.

I went to the CSMU for a private colour analysis by Laura, together with my sister. The experience was, from start to finish, exceptional.
Laura was friendly, personable and professional, and seemed genuinely invested and interested to "crack the code" of colours. We were surprised that she did not appear rushed at any point, at many stages lingering over the analysis to make sure she had got things just right. She even exceeded our original alloted time at no extra cost.
Days later she sent us both in depth personalised emails with our colour analyses which had clearly taken a great deal of time and effort.

I first attended the school back in 2022 with very little confidence within my artistry skills and lack of knowledge with what to do once I completed my course. My time at the school I met life long friends, and also gained life long confidence within my artistry skills also. I went on to then attend a special effects course where I absolutely excelled and now with thanks to the school and teachers , I have gained multiple qualifications, grew my make up social media and also landed a job in selfridges. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve these goals without the school .

I completed a makeup course at Central School of Makeup Birmingham and received an international certificate.

While the enrollment process was smooth, my experience after joining did not fully meet my expectations. I found that post-course support was limited, especially when I asked for guidance regarding work opportunities and product recommendations.

During training, I also felt that I did not receive the same level of exposure as some other students, as my work was not featured on the school’s social media. Additionally, I would have appreciated more opportunities to practice on models during the course.

Overall, I think the course could be improved by offering more consistent support, equal opportunities for all students, and continued guidance after completion.

My feedback is based on this overall experience, and I hope you can understand how it felt from my side.
My review was not based on one particular incident or the modelling message. It reflects my overall experience during and after the course. While I did share positive feedback initially, over time I felt that I did not receive enough support, guidance, or opportunities compared to my expectations.

For example, I often asked about work opportunities and product guidance but did not receive much response. I also felt that I didn’t get equal chances during training, including model practice and having my work reviewed or shared.

I respect that building professional relationships is important, and that is exactly why I expected more consistent communication and support throughout and after the course.
Regarding opportunities never received any opportunity. Whatever you are posting in a group, never received any response from client, so we don't know it is geniune opportunity or not..

You never shared my work on social media while you were uploading pictures and videos of others work. So I can see what kind of support you have given me. It's demotivating for any student. If I will be teaching students I ll never do with anyone . Teacher has to give equal opportunity to every student.

Teacher can't demotivate student by doing this kind of behaviour.
Till now I didn't receive any picture of my work. I don't have any videos of my work. Removing any review or flagging any review ll not change the reality of school. You can remove multiple times I can post multiple times. Good luck laura

Laura running the Special Effects course was completely brilliant!! Really supportive, non-judgmental space to learn new exciting skills. Would very much recommend :)

I loved my experience on this course. The teachers were amazing, so knowledgeable and genuinely supportive. It was incredibly informative, and even though it was a bit out of my way, I chose this school because of its reputation — and it was absolutely worth it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the central school of makeup. I had some experience in makeup but nothing compared to the knowledge I have now. The teachers are so so helpful and will accommodate any needs you may have and are really knowledgable with the mounting experience they have. I am so glad I made the jump to do this course it has been so beneficial in my journey to becoming a makeup artist and the growth that you can make in just a few weeks of attending is incredible. I could not thank the staff enough for being a part of my journey and I feel sad it is coming to end but I also feel really prepared for what’s next all because of the teaching I have experienced.

The foundation course covers everything from basic hygiene, product knowledge, how to set up your own bridal MUA business as well as advanced techniques like glam and bridal makeup. I'm currently still studying at the central school of makeup and I'm nearly at the end of my makeup course. I came with no experience, confidence or knowledge about makeup but now I can honestly say I have learned so much. Absolutely loving the course and my main tutor has been Laura and learning from her has been incredible. She has shared her knowledge and wisdom with makeup to which I will forever remember and use. Becky has also taught me and she is another brilliant tutor with amazing knowledge and teaching skills.
This school of makeup is by far one of the best out there and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Small issue with certificate not arriving but this was due to an issue with address typo. This has been resolved and a new certificate issued to us.

I had a really lovely experience during my one-to-one make session with Laura.
My make-up experience was very limited, but I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable.
Laura was very knowledgeable and provided suggestions and tips throughout the session. I would recommend the one-to-one make session as a gift or a treat for yourself.

Attending The Central School has been invaluable to my ongoing education and development as a makeup artist and the schools assistance after finishing my course has allowed me to continue flourishing in the makeup industry. There is always amazing support and brilliant teaching as well as really individual help for each student and the path they want to take. Even though I finished my course over a year ago, I continue to be in contact with the school and still feel able to reach out to them for advice and I also continue to receive support in finding work.

I joined this course with no prior experience of using make-up, and I’m so glad that I chose this IMA Foundation course at The Central School of Make-up. The tutors have been so patient with me, they have explained everything clearly and it has helped to boost my confidence.

This is a course that at first felt overwhelming due to me not previously using make-up, but I joined so that I could learn new skills to help with my photography shoots.

I’m so happy that I made the decision to join because everyone is friendly and approachable and they quickly put me at ease.

For the lessons we use the school’s own make-up and it’s a huge range so we can test out different brands, and hygiene is taken very seriously, which is reassuring when using products.

Overall, this is a course that I’d happily recommend, and it’s started me on a path that I want to follow with The Central School of Make-up because I now want to keep going and join their other courses so that I can improve my skills and learn more.

Amazing place! Had there my Foundation makeup courses and liked it so much that decided to join Creative courses! The highest standard of teaching and hygiene level, also absolutely warm, kind and knowledgeable people! You are getting so much more for your money! Teachers really care for you to understand everything and go out from there a real professional!

I had a one to one make up lesson today with Stephen and it was brilliant. I learned how to do an evening makeup / going out look for myself with some dramatic eyes and took lots of tips and tricks away from today. Thank you
