CheckMEND is a service that helps the public and traders to avoid buying stolen property. We prevent over £35m per month of stolen property from being traded. Consumers are always at risk when buying used or refurbished property; a CheckMEND search before you buy can help you avoid a nasty surprise later. A CheckMEND report will alert whoever performed the search (retailers, corporations, insurers, police or members of the public) to the item’s history and status. You may purchase a used item that works for months or years, but when you try to sell it to a responsible trader, their check with us shows it was stolen before you bought it. This proactive crime prevention doesn’t always make us popular, but it does mean we’re doing the right thing. In the unlikely event that a record reported to us is incorrect, we provide full support to resolve it with the provider. Please, don’t leave a bad review because you didn’t like a result over which we have no influence. If you engage with our support team, we will always try to help.

Adequate and as advertised, but nothing special

I purchased a CheckMEND report for an IMEI number hoping to find out more specific details about which organisation had blocked it. Alas, no such luck. While the report was well presented, it provides no unique information that you can't just find from a free provider. CheckMEND perform their service as advertised, but it ultimately is not a service worth paying for. There are a variety of free IMEI scans that you can find through Google and , while CheckMEND may claim to check the largest amount of data-sets, the reality is that they offer nothing of value that makes their service worth paying.

Although the report generated by CheckMend is fairly cheap, it does not add any precise information as compared to a free check. There is no added value whatsoever.

Hi there,

Thank you for your review.

Our Ecosystem of data is extremely comprehensive and updated regularly from various sources meaning a CheckMEND check is very accurate. Most free checks only check against one data set which makes it much more unreliable.

Scammers

I believe these people are running a scam, I'm still waiting for my phone to be returned from decluttr but I had to threaten with law enforcement to get any responses from both the sites used for this. They don't respond and have bad reviews. They use their own system (recipro) to say phones are bad so decluttr can keep them without paying you for them. Will not use again, and won't reccomend

Hi there,

CheckMEND is a legitimate product operated by Recipero who support crime prevention. We provide the findings of a device history check to whomever has requested the check. The results of that check are very accurate and it is entirely up to the checker who asked for the check as to what they do with the results.

Your organization is a scam!!

Your organization is a scam!!! My CheckMend report had a CAUTION for a Recipero AssetWatch causing Decluttr to reduce their original offer to me for my iPhone 6S Plus by half ($126.00)!!!!! I tried and tried to fix this but after emails and a phone call (720-590-4711) I was unable to get ANY information on how to correct!!!! I know this Recipero AssetWatch and CheckMend are all the same organization! Talk about a scam operation.
Low and behold, Gazelle paid me $280.00 for the same phone!!!! Stay away from Decluttr and try Gazelle if you want to sell your iPhone.

Hi there,

CheckMEND is not a scam. It uses reliable data sources to identify potential fraudulent activity on a device over the course of its lifespan. If something has been identified then we merely highlight this on the report that has been asked for.

It is then up to the person or company buying or selling the device to decide what they would like to do with the information. We can delve deeper into the reason behind something being highlighted and look into how to rectify it, if possible.
If you would like to contact us regarding a specific device please contact support@checkmend.com
