I lost my cat in December of 2025. I informed Chewy to cancel my auto delivery products by telephone and later left a message about the situation. After no response, I sent a letter to the company about the lack of response/follow up. After being a loyal customer this is a slap in the face. I will not purchase anything from this company again. It’s okay to take my money, but not to acknowledge a deep loss. Shame on them.

Guru bouncer treat/food dispenser was great! Sturdy hard plastic that is standing up to my 100 lb dog and can fit about 2 cups of dry food. Eats slower and he loves it. Got quickly and felt price was reasonable for good product
Fast delivery not so much.
They have in the past always had fast shipping but in the past few months that has gone downhill fast. Waiting a week for items is not what their policy states. And the customer service was always superb until yet again that has gone downhill fast as well. I have been lied to about items shipping that never shipped. Like why lie about it, I don’t get it. I have now started shopping more at my local stores. It’s a shame that it has gotten to this point.

Extremely Horrible
Horrible company. Horribly ineffective and inefficient customer service. I placed an order twice from my initial new account that I created. The charge immediately showed from my bank app on my iPhone. Both times I received follow up emails after the order confirmation email that my orders were cancelled. I utilized online chat and called in and spoke to humans on the phone. No one could solve the issue. One worker emailed me some sort of account verification link. I clicked it and verified my account. This still did not solve it though.
I tried placing the order again and again it was soon automatically cancelled. I called them again. They said their "Protection and Wellness" team just needed to look over my account and if they needed anything, would reach out. They said everything looked good. I was using my own large national bank debit card, my own address, and my own email address. Ridiculous.
I waited two or three more days and attempted to log back in and place the order for the third time. I could not log in. The Chewy workers had apparently deleted my account.
I created a new account with a secondary email address.
This did not solve the problem!
Everything repeated again.
Even to the point where two days later, I could now not log in with my secondary email address.
Chewy workers and / or their "Protection and Wellness Team" had deleted my second account as well. No one contacted me. No emails received. No odd payment methods, etc. But they deleted my second account and still kept cancelling my orders.
Horrible company. Horrible workers. (I can't be labelled as a "Verified Buyer" because Chewy would allow me to place an order!)

In the past their customer service was responsive & helpful.
In recent months their customer service has degenerated severely and seems to now be outsourced to non-natives of the US as they cannot comprehend English & reply inappropriately.
They reply to problems by endlessly repeating meaningless apologies without helpful actions.
We will be avoiding Chewy completely from now on.

My second last order was delivered and thrown at the end of my driveway (a day before it was supposed to arrive) in a snow storm. I lost half of a $100 lb bag of dog food as it was hit by the truck that plows my driveway. I was offered a $25 discount on my next bag to compensate (apparently math is hard). I ordered a bag with the reduced price and it was delivered yesterday... and thrown in a snow drift in the driveway AGAIN!
Very thoughtful when we had lost our baby girl.
We had lost your beloved dog and Chewy had sent us a card and a gift. The gift was a rock with her name on it plus it had a rainbow painted on it.

Not a digital company
They require paper copies of prescriptions so they arent digital. Also lost my prescription that i mailed so you better pay for tracking and signature required if you want to work w Chewy pharmacy.
NO FOOD SENT TO MY HOME & NOT NOTIFIED WITH AN EMAIL
I’ve been a customer of Chewy for about 3 1/2 years. My German Shepherd has terrible allergies and has been put on since a Puppy hydrolyzed protein diet which I get from Chewy !! A few days ago I noticed I was running low of the food I called chewy The operator said it was on the way. three days later I still never received my dog food !!😡Luckily, I had dog treats in the house and that’s what I had to feed my dog because the food never showed up. I am on auto ship for every two weeks.
With the kind of COMPANY CHEWY IS!! I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AN EMAIL ON THE DELAY!!
Every time Ive called Chewy they asked me my email address so why wasn’t I notified through an email? My food wasn’t showing up I could’ve made other arrangements instead of my dog eating treats no way to run a business.

I ordered the wrong supplements for my dog by mistake, and they not only cheerfully fully refunded me when I called, but also let me keep them! Amazing customer service. Will shop with them again.
They lost $100+ order over a measely little $20 e-gift…
They lost $100+ order over a measly little $20 e-gift card. Chewy’s customer service is incompetent, disorganized, and arrogant. I spent over $100 yet my $20 e gift card wasn't honored so i returned everything and got my money back. Conflicting return instructions, supervisors contradicting themselves, zero accountability. I was a repeat customer across multiple accounts, yet they chose cheapness and greed over keeping my business. They ate the cost of their own mistakes while I walked away with my refund. You big dummy. Never again. Avoid.
A very thoughtful and kind company with great service
We have been customers of Chewy for years. As our cats aged, we need a prescription dry food (kidney health) and it was so much cheaper from Chewy than from the vet. We also need more specialized canned food and Chewy had that too. The convenience of having heavy cat food arrive at your door is also excellent. However, we had to euthanize our cat Molly after sharing our lives with her for 21-1/2 years. It's been a much more difficult loss than we expected.
We got a number of cards and very comforting messages from friends and the vet for which we are so appreciative. But, there was one special note of kindness I wanted to share. For the last few years, we had her wet food and prescription dry food regularly shipped to us from Chewy. A large box of canned food on subscription was shipped the day before we decided it was time to euthanize her. I contacted Chewy to see if they could recall the order but I was too late. The incrediby kind agent said not to worry. She refunded our account and told us to please donate the food to a local animal shelter rather than bother shipping it back. I thought that was just so generous. But then we got a surprise gift box in the mail today from Chewy. It had a personalized sympathy card and a memorial stone handpainted with her name. We were both very touched by the card as well as the gift.
We have decided to not have more cats or a dog at this point. But, if we ever do, I would definitely be buying from Chewy. I rarely write a fanboy post about a company, but this time I was so impressed I had to share my opinion about them.
Watch out for Autoship price increases
Convenient Autoship, but poor price transparency. My Autoship price increased without any clear notice — the review email showed only the total and did not highlight the price change. I only noticed after comparing orders manually.
Customer service eventually offered a one-time goodwill credit, which I appreciate, but confirmed that price increases are not flagged by design. Use Autoship, but double-check pricing every time.
When my German Shepherd died....
When my dog passed away and we were purchasing her food for over 10 years, I called and the person I spoke with had no compassion. They required me to drag that 43lb bag of dog food to the UPS store to get my credit. I was just on nextdoor in my area and a lady wrote when her kitty died they gave her a FULL credit and did not require her to return the food, sent her a sympathy card also. WOW. I was a customer for 10 years when my German Shepherd died. Terrible customer service.
