Exceptional Customer Service

Sabine (Customer Services) has recently assisted in two delivery issues, but both of which turned out to be problems at my end. She sent a replacement box when there were significant delays via the Royal Mail, and when informed the original had turned up, showed no interest in seeking payment for the replacement box. And only this week collated all the bonus points I had collected, but not assigned to my account, resulting is discount of £33 I could use on my last order. When they say goes beyond the call of duty, Sabine is a credit to Chocolate Express.

Lovely chocolates-shame they…

Lovely leonidas chocolates-shame they now have cheap soy lectin in instead of sunflower lectin-as soy lectin sticks to your gut and stays undigested and soy uses alot of pesticides and is a g.m.o. plant.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!

The chocolates are nice but very expensive. You pay £4.99 for next day delivery but the company don't pass on your specific delivery details to Royal Mail so they don't get delivered to your very elderly mother who can't simply drive to the local Post Office. Do they care? Absolutely not. Prepare to be met with a patronising, unhelpful response. Your mother doesn't have her gift, you are upset, but they have your money now so they don't care. Wish I had read all the other reviews about their poor customer service first. Where's my refund?

Charged for order and received NOTHING

Ordered chocolates on 9/12/22 and money taken from my account on 12/12/22 but chocolates have never arrived.
I emailed Central Market Confectionery on 28/12/22 and again on 10/01/23 and no reply or acknowledgment.
I emailed Chocolate Express on 12/01/23 and no reply or acknowledgment.
SO charged for NOTHING and no help from anyone.
Would never use this company again.

Good service

I have given CE 5 stars because, although they made a mistake in my order by transposing messages on 2 boxes of chocolates so that the recipients got the wrong kind of chocolates, CE's response was prompt and fantastic. They acknowledged their mistake, and gave me a great choice of options, including sending out the right chocolates to each of the recipients, giving me a box to the value of the two (very tempting, as they're the best chocolates in the world!), or the equivalent of a credit note. I chose the first option, and they were delivered the next day. Very impressed. Full marks to CE. It won't be long before I'll be ordering more of these delicious chocolates.

No choc and no express - and that was just the website

If you like pulling teeth and watching paint dry while having the life nagged out of you, this is the website for you. It wants a coercive relationship with you, not a quick transaction to buy a box of chocolates. I managed to get to the checkout with a £2.50 discount. Perfect - I had ticked all the boxes I wanted to, but there was no way I was going to be allowed to checkout unless I logged in, chose a delivery address (the delivery was to me), chose gift ribbon, changed my password. By the time I did that and half-an-hour later, my discount has disappeared - including the new Voucher Code discount of a further £2.34, so that when I arrived at Paypal I was paying full whack and not a £5 discount as previously obtained. It seems like a massive con to lure you in, then charge you the same price having offered discounts and wasted your time. I wanted to buy a box of chocolates - I did not want a controlling relationship with a stranger online. I didn't get the chocolates. I'll go without and take peace and quiet instead. Suggest you do the same, or like me you will end up shouting at the screen while Choc Express turns out to be no choc and certainly no express.

Poor service

We have used Chocolateexpress for a few years and the service and quality was OK, although the webslte can be fustrating. 2 years ago we ordered choclates for Xmas well in advance to get the advertised discount. They arrived on time, but we opened them on Christmas Day to be greeted by stale chocolates covered in green mould. After complaining we did get receive replacements. After a year or so we tried them again and the chocolates were OK, but not as fresh as those you get in a London store. HOWEVER, we have just openedba box on our daughter's birthday to be greeted with only a few of the dark chocolates we ordered and a the rest substituted milk chocolates we don't like. We received no contat about the changes. VERY poor service. Never again

100g of negative customer service

100g of negative customer service - i placed an order and received my chocolates promptly and efficiently - the following day an email celebrating world chocolate day arrived - i asked CE if they would graciously afford me the free bar of chocolate as my order was so close to the offer starting - i was told NO that they would not - i will not use CE again and i think in a market where any company would be happy of repeat business - 100g is rather a missed opportunity on their part.

I ordered lemon turkish delight and they sent suktan turkish delight with nuts, which i dislike, not the 1st time they have messed up an order to me, i have had old chocolates and items missing nearly everytime..i give with them now, i will order direct from Belgium, always correct and no complaints ever

Fantastic customer service!

I've been a customer of chocolate express for a good few years now (I LOVE Leonidas chocolates!), and their customer service has been superb. I recently ordered a choose your own box where I unfortunately received a different chocolate by mistake, I emailed and Sabine with customer service sent out a box with the missing selection (AND a few extra!) the next day. Thank you from very happy customer!

We wanted gluten free chocs for a very special couple for their Ruby Anniversary. Requested very special messages, ribbon. They delivered the next day but details not 'quite right. E mailed. Had a personal call next day. Saline sorted the problem. New, correct box, arrived the next day. Free.

I have had two deliveries from this…

I have had two deliveries from this firm the delivery was very good and Leonidas chocolates were excellent and at a very sensible price. When my wife and I are finished with our latest purchase I will be reordering. A note on the staff I had trouble signing in and a staff member phone me 5 minutes after opening Saturday morning and she was very helpful and pleasant

I ordered chocolates for my Daughters…

I ordered chocolates for my Daughters Anniversary and paid for next day delivery but these two two days to get there. However that was not my most annoyance regarding this Company. When I ordered it clearly stated that these would be sent with their signature ribbon so they looked like a nice presentation for a gift but when they arrived there was no ribbon just a box inside a box. I was very upset as they didn't look special at all, nothing like the picture on line. When I complained I didn't get anywhere apart from them refunding me £1.85 for the ribbon which I found to be quite insulting. I thought the staff I spoke to were very Blais'e and unhelpful couldn't care less. I would never purchase from them again. Totally unimpressed...

Overall Experience

Having used the company for a few months now, I'm extremely impressed with the high level of customer service, & the high quality of their Leonidas chocolates. For many years I purchased Leonidas chocolates from a local retailer, unfortunately, they ceased trading so I had to find somewhere else to purchase them. I came across Chocolate Express, their chocolates are of the same highest quality as I used to buy from my local shop. I like the fact you can self-select items, the boxes are always well packaged & protected, & never damaged! The website is easy to navigate & make a selection. The speed of delivery is amazing, have always received the order on the first or second working day, & considering they have to be flown from Jersey to the UK, that really is an outstanding service! Appreciate that you are somewhat reliant on Royal Mail in the UK to uphold their end of the delivery, but I can honestly say they have never let me down! So to all the team at Chocolate Express, well done, & a very big "Thank You" for being so helpful whenever I've contacted you. Looking forward to my next purchase!

Excellent products and service.

Excellent products and service.
I have used this company a number of times over the last year, most recently within the last week. The products, mostly given as gifts, have been excellent, and the recipients were delighted.
Customer service has also been great. They have gone above and beyond, especially when one of the issues was down to me using the wrong delivery address for a birthday gift, an issue which was quickly sorted by a very helpful lady. I see that other people have had issues, but I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you!

I was not a lover of dark chocolate but Leonidas chocolates have changed my perception of that. each and every chocolate is unique and fabulous. The service is first class.

Horrendous service

Horrendous service - I ordered a box for Mother's Day, 7 days later, hand't arrived - I checked the system which said delivered so I emailed. I got a horrible email back saying that because I had claimed my orders were 'never delivered' they would not issue a refund - it was a lie and pretty unpleasant customer service - I will be getting a card charegback and not using them again

Poor customer service

I am a long time customer of Chocolate Express but be warned that counts for nothing when it comes to customer service. I purchased the 40 assorted mini eggs tub only to find that I received 5 or 6 eggs in each of 3 flavours, needless to say these were the least exciting flavours, plain chocolate, caramel, white chocolate. Disappointingly there were none of the more niche flavours like baileys, manon, raspberry, etc. Very poor selection and not much of an assortment.

On contacting Chocolate Express I was told there is a chose your own selection and to bear that in mind next time. I contacted them to say I wasn't happy with the response and my email was ignored.

Also they advertise free postage on all orders on their site. It's not. It used to be but now you have to spend over £25

Dreadful company and appalling customer service. I will now source my chocolates elsewhere

Paid for 60 chocolates & Got 49

Ordered box of 60 chocolates and there were only 49 in the box. I counted as the last box seemed less than I ordered, but only realised half way through eating them.

I've spent £150 with them in the last few months and didn't get what I paid for.

Not using Chocolate Express again.
