I'm very disappointed in this company
I'm very disappointed in this company. I was looking forward to starting my policy but unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I had to cancel withing a few days after paying for 2 months of coverage. This happened since November, Its now February still no refund and not returning or responding to my emails. This is very disappointing. Cigna Global where is my refund.

Reasons to Renew
It took a couple of tries to connect with a customer service rep and discuss my renewal, but once I did, the process was great. Sarah Ann Fagan explained the reasons for an increased premium during my policy renewal, thoroughly explaining (and kindly correcting) my misconception: claims do NOT affect premiums, so don't hold back on getting the care you need! We shopped around and Cigna has the best rates for coverage abroad, including the US.
We have had a very good experience with Cigna Health
We have had a very good experience with Cigna. We have been customers for 5+ years of their global health plan for individuals and found their teams to be very responsive any time we have questions, and their policies to be fairly enforced. As with most insurance companies, making a claim can be a lot of work and most claims are initially denied with us having to resubmit sometimes 5 or 6 times to get the claim approved. But we have found if we are organized at our end and systematic we usually get everything covered approved. In our recent renewal we had a terrific experience with the sales and support teams in determining the best policy for us, and in overcoming some minor technical hurdles in payment processing. Overall, a very good experience and we can recommend Cigna to others.

If there were a negative rating, I would have gladly given it to Cigna. The main goal of the company is to reject any claim, irrespective of the cost of the coverage. Reviews take way too long and patients are required to write lengthy explanations of their symptoms and prior medical history only to receive a further request to obtain a full medical report from the medical provider. The doctors who put diagnosis codes in their invoices are annoyed by the necessity to write detailed reports, although are they now becoming more and more aware of Cigna’s excessive requirements. It takes time and effort to obtain a document that Cigna wants and such “bugging” from the patient is not appreciated. Once the medical report is submitted Cigna examines it with one single purpose to find a plausible reason to reject the claim. I have been covered by BUPA International and by regional providers for many years and have never experienced same attitude. Unfortunately, I had been reckless enough to follow my friend’s advice and to try Cigna
. Worst decision ever taken. These crooks are to be avoided at all costs by any self-paying patient.

All good so far. I recently opened my policy and unfortunately had a fall from a ladder. The team has been responsive and efficient, and they’ve been very supportive throughout the process. Positive experience up to this point.

We worked with Aws Altaee to purchase our Cigna Global plan and he went above and beyond for us. I started emailing with him to discuss plans for the future and what we wanted to do with some big life changes that happened without warning. He always replied right away to all of my emails and helped put our minds at ease. And then when we had a life event that was unexpected as soon as I reached out to him he answered right away and called us at a time convenient to us. He was so friendly and so wonderful and really helped us so much! Highly recommend working with him at Cigna Global!!

Hard to get a response from Cigna
After encountering an error from the website as I was trying to pay for my new policy on December 29, I called for help. The Cigna rep who answered said they would have someone from the correct department call me.
No one called me.
I tried to pay again on the 31st, but since that was the policy start date I selected, my policy could not be paid for, and I had to start over.
But I couldn't start over; whenever I went back to the beginning it pulled up my policy I had selected.
I filled out an online form explaining my dilemma.
On Jan 2, I received this email:
"Good afternoon (my name and brokers name), Happy New Year!
I am reaching out to ask how I can assist you with your Cigna International Insurance policy.
Best wishes
(Name)

Not a very helpful message, after all; I called back on Friday and all weekend, and the phone just went straight to "We care about your call, and someone will be with you as soon as possible." I listened to this for 30 minutes or so for the several times I called. Whether Friday or the weekend, it was the same.
The Broker Sales Exec never did call me back, on Friday or weekend or Monday. I had called and replied to the email.
I finally called again and said to the person who answered, [Broker Sales Exec] has been unresponsive. Can you connect me with someone who can help me reset my policy to start as soon as possible?
They were able to get it done.
