My first time ordering from Clae. The pair I ordered is the vintage line that comes with nice brown colour and beautiful design overall, which suits my age and all occasion wear. Comfort level is on point. However I don’t like the material used for the trap as it makes it quite hard to tie and easily pull off while walking. If this could be improved, it would make a perfect pair of shoes.

I LOVE my CLAEs!
Funny to have just received an email to rate my new trainers - this morning, as I was putting on my new CLAEs, I was thinking about how much I LOVE them! This is my second pair (I wore the heck out of the first one), and I am thrilled that they are available in both white and off-white. I wear the former in S/S and the latter in A/W.
I wasn't a fan of vegan leather until I realised how easy it is to clean. I love being able to keep my CLAEs looking shiny and new.
My *only* quibble is that CLAE don't sell replacement shoelaces. My father-in-law spilt red wine on my new shoes the second time I wore them, and I wasn't able to completely get the stains out of the laces.

Gene Simmons shoes
The BRADLEY ESSENTIALS Triple Black Leather is the footwear version of Gene Simmons. It has a ridiculously long tongue. This causes two things to happen. One is that the tongue gets pushed down by the ankle causing a ripple in the leather across the foot. The other is that it causes the tongue to shift to one side or the other to avoid the ankle. It looks bad and makes for a bad fit. Additionally the slit in the tongue to put laces through to keep the tongue in place is so poorly positioned that to use it essentially puts it into a rippled position so it is more harmful than helpful.
The leather is fantastic and the support is superior. Clae’s are one of the few shoes I own that I do not have to put custom insoles in. They are wearable out of the box. But the issue with the tongue is a dealbreaker. I cannot recommend these shoes.
I have two pairs of BRADLEY CALIFORNIA. They are perfect. Why they did the long tongue on the BRADLEY ESSENTIALS Triple Black Leather is baffling.

Shipping very suspect
Ordered product - CLAE used a private delivery service to ship totally and item delivered to who-knows-where (work address). The product was out of stock, so I could not get the exact color again. Replacement was no good. Only positive is that the Customer Service was responsive and tried their best.

The customer service is always great. I originally ordered a pair of sneakers that were final sale and I didn't like them. The service re allowed me to exchange for credit and get a new pair. Always cordial and prompt.

Style of the shoes was as expected and they look nice. The main reason for my 3-star rating is the overall quality of the shoes is not in line with the price. For one shoe color/style I wanted, I ended up buying a pair of Vince brand shoes for a lower price and got a much higher quality shoe.
