I paid for a build sheet for my Classic car. They indicated they could get me a copy of the original build sheet.. even during a live chat. So, I paid. They, themselves produced a fraudulent document. That was not a copy of my original build sheet. The car has a 427 engine. Their fraudulent scam concocted document listed the engine as a “ 472”…. there was no color or color code on the fake document. Talked to live chat. They tried to convince me that the color codes are not always on those, and that is not true. Also pointed out the engine misspelling. Live chat person told me they would correct it… later that day I receive a phony, concocted piece of garbage that was nothing even close to resembling the items that would appear on a factory build sheet. Full of aftermarket parts, Edlebrock aluminum intake manifold, aluminum radiator, electric cooling fans. Headers. The list goes on and on, and none of these items were offered from the factory, in 1969. It wasn’t even a credible looking document. This place is a total scam. They guarantee you and promise you an original document copy, and then they cobble together a fraud. Don’t spend any money with these people

I was trying to get some history on a car that I am looking at buying. It is a pre-1981 car with a 13-digit VIN, so the usual services, such as Carfax, are not helpful. I paid over $40 Cdn. for a report on a 1979 Chevrolet Caprice, and the information I got was useless, and the information supplied about the transmission and drivetrain configuration was just plain wrong. They won't give me a refund, but they want me to help them correct their erroneous information, which apparently comes directly from the DMV database, which I highly doubt.

I am extremely satisfied with ClassicDecoder.com and their specialized services for classic car VIN lookup and build sheet generation.
As someone who recently completed extensive research before purchasing a classic vehicle, I can confidently say this platform delivers exceptional value for serious classic car buyers.
During my research phase, I purchased a 10 VIN decoder package from ClassicDecoder, which proved invaluable when evaluating potential purchases.
The service helped me make informed decisions right up to the moment I was ready to make an offer.
While the VIN lookup process occasionally required some additional guidance to locate the correct vehicle match, the customer support team responded quickly and effectively. I must specifically highlight Richard, their customer support agent, whose assistance was outstanding throughout my experience.
I ultimately purchased a 1978 Bronco and utilized multiple services to gather comprehensive information about the vehicle. I obtained both a VIN report through ClassicDecoder and a Marty report for comparison purposes. Both services provided valuable information, and I appreciate having access to quality options in the classic car documentation space.
The standout feature was ClassicDecoder's build sheet service, which completely exceeded my expectations in both scope and detail. The build sheet was remarkably exhaustive and granular, providing comprehensive information about every aspect of how the vehicle was originally built and equipped. The level of detail and accuracy was impressive, offering extensive insights into the vehicle's original specifications and factory configuration.
What particularly impressed me about ClassicDecoder's build sheet was its comprehensive nature and the granular detail it provided about the vehicle's manufacturing specifications. This level of thoroughness makes it an excellent resource for anyone seeking detailed vehicle documentation, whether for restoration purposes, verification needs, or general ownership records.
Based on this experience, I would recommend ClassicDecoder's build sheet service to any classic car owner seeking detailed vehicle documentation.

Do not use this “service”! They charged 20$ to create a “build sheet” that has adds and coupons on the sheet. They also charged 30$ to return zero information besides “no reports” in each field. Spent 45 minutes with customer service and they did everhing they could to not provide a refund for inaccurate services.

Thought I saved my sticker but I couldn’t find it. Took a shot and searched for a source to recover a copy of it and was elated to find Trustpilot. Placing the order couldn’t have been easier or faster. And the sticker is great! Then much to my surprise they checked with me the next day to be sure I was happy with the order. I highly recommend them.

What a frustrating experience! Billed me twice (PayPal return page was an error page), gave me NO INFORMATION on my car other than what I fed it (year, model, engine), gave me the wrong link (to a different car). BOGUS BUSINESS.

Was a waste of money. Second owner of my car. The info they gave me said car came with 396 and a heavy duty 3spd manual transmission. Car came with 327 and 4spd. Transmission and rearend have the vin stamp that matches car. Called them to tell them of error and they said that’s what’s on their record.
UPDATE Jul 2025
Received email requesting I contact them to try to correct problem. Sent me an updated build sheet pdf file with corrections

Didn’t think it would work, but this site surprised me! Grabbed a single report just to try it out, and boom—got the exact window sticker I needed. Now that I know this is a thing, I’ll be using it again for sure.

Window sticker is a scam! The history report was generic and I could have used any company that offers them for an old vin with less than 17 digits. I only really cared to verify that the mileage had not in fact rolled over on the odometer. So, I'm neutral on the history report. But I went with Classic Decoder for the window sticker option. Total scam and inaccurate descriptions and options. Stated I had a 4 speed manual. No, it's an auto. Or it would state things like, came with Dana 60 or Dana 70 rear axle. Well, if they actual were able to reproduce the window sticker they should have know this specific model and package only came with a Dana 70. It was like they did a Google search and patched it together. A lot of features for my model were not listed or just completely incorrect. They also had a Monterey sticker on it. That is the MPG section you see on window stickers. Trucks of this era did not have MPG ratings! VERY DISAPPOINTED! I should have saved the $20 and put it towards the right way to do it. A Marti report!

I ordered a Copy of a Window Sticker for a car I was selling from this company and had some trouble printing it out. It was too small for me to read. I couldn't figure what I was doing wrong and become frustrated. I sent an email to the company but pretty much figured this was a compete loss and didn't figure I would get anything for my money nor did I have the patience at the time to try and ask for a refund and wrote it off as money lost. To my surprise, the next day a representative for the company called me and explained the simple thing that I was doing wrong and I was able to print out the window sticker right away. Not only that they gave me free credits for then when the stickers in the future. He was super nice and accommodating. Excellent customer service I was absolutely surprised because you don't see it very often these days. I highly recommend this company
