Let's get to the point of what we are doing, we are helping you claim back on mis-sold car finance agreements. This is all still quite recent, as car finance companies were still doing their ‘dodgy dealings’, for lack of a better word, until the FCA brought out the report in 2019 to bring what's been going on to the forefront of peoples minds. New and used cars, vans and all motor-vehicle types is where mis-selling was discovered under personal contract hire (PCP), hire purchase (HP). We look into if the commission off the deal was undisclosed, the varying interest rates that were on offer and in some cases the lack of affordability checks carried out to ensure the agreement was affordable for the client. Upon getting in touch with us we request some basic documents to check if you have a claim. If you do (most people do) we will feed back our findings to yourself and explain the next steps of how we go about getting you some money back! We do not charge anything upfront for our service and pride ourselves on being an approachable, friendly team with the core aim of providing you with the best possible outcome.

Do not waste your time

Contacted them to put in a claim after a recommendation in July 2022.
All seemed well, handed all paperwork over & had a quote come back for how much I should expect after a month. I then received an email saying that I wouldn’t be getting the money anymore as the process had changed.
Then had to submit more paper work as giving my whole finance history seemly wasn’t enough already. Sent 4 emails to Aaron Norton and rang in twice for an update and got no response.

Go to my diesel claims instead - you actually get timescales given and are able to speak to people!

I have had a look into your case and I can in fact see that out of the 2 claims you submitted to us, Both claims have been accepted and progressing well.

I can also see that you have had correspondence from Aaron via email regarding this and you have been made aware that they are moving forward. Further to this we have had confirmation that you were sent documentation on 31/10 from Courmacs Legal regarding one of your vehicles.

As for communication with Aaron, Aaron advised that he was on annual leave and this is why his direct line would’ve been engaged.

I appreciate that you have submitted a claim with ‘My Diesel Claim’ but this is to do with a completely separate set of claims to which we currently do not deal with, This is also a class action claim which is completely different.

No answer

Made my claim on 8th of August, and I’ve been informed that usually takes around 2/3 weeks to receive the initial assessment. On the 11th of September as I had received any update I’ve sent an email to Ashleigh who only replied to me on the 22nd of September to inform me the solicitor has lost funding for pursuing my case “McDermott Smith has lost funding for pursuing claims and have informed us that yours is a claim they will no longer be pursuing. Not that it isn’t liable for claim but purely. You're 1 of 4000 clients this has sadly affected. To rub more salt in the wounds they weren't planning on making us aware or yourselves for that matter.

Firstly can I apologise on behalf of Clear Money Claims for the inconvenience as this is something which is out of our control.

Going forward however we will need to complete further checks to be able to establish the best course of action for your case. Doing this will give us the best chance of your claim being successful and also allowing you to get as much back as possible too. Just to reiterate we are confident that you do have a claim to pursue here, and fully intend on doing so.”

From that date until today the 22nd of November I’ve not received any update at all, tried to send another email but no answer at all

I can see that you were caught up in the McDermott Smith Law cases and unfortunately couldn’t go any further, So all I can do is apologise about this; this is completely out of our control.

Looking into your claim I can see that you were contacted by one of our advisors and subsequently issued our full Terms of Business documents that you signed on 22/09/2022. This has given us the go-ahead to run your case internally through us here at Clear Money. This is now progressing and a complaint letter has been sent to the finance companies. We should be receiving a response soon.

We have a statutory obligation to update you every three months as a minimum. I have referred to our internal system and the notification is in fact active.

Poor Communication

Once you submit the paperwork, you get no updates or expectations set.
Paperwork signed and sent on 27th September.
9th November - text sent to whatsapp number. Hi Chris. I submitted the paperwork through the solicitors on the 27th September. What's the lead time to get an answer back?

No reply.

14th November - Hi Chris. Did you receive my message?

No reply.

They said once paperwork was submitted it shouldn't take long for a reply to be provided. Shouldn't have to chase for these types of updates.

UPDATE: Phone call on 23rd November - the solicitors have run out of budget. We have to pass your case onto another solicitor. This is the 3rd set of solicitors and a 3rd set of fresh paperwork to sign.
