Amazing

From booking the appointment to having my shutters fitted the whole process was seamless. I was always kept up to date and never left wondering what was going on. The lovely woman I spoke to on the phone is truly a credit to your company - thank you Clement Browne I will definitely be getting more shutters soon!

Excellent job

Excellent job done by Mike, was really impressed. Very professional, & tidied up after job complete. When we contacted the staff for information they were really helpful and honest about waiting periods potentially changing due to covid. Overall really pleased with the service and would highly recommend!

Quite possibly the worst experience…

Quite possibly the worst experience from any company ever. Full of lie after lie after lie. They do not deliver within the specified time, yet have the audacity to ask for full payment. Will use Covid as an excuse for bad bad service. Do not believe their 10 week installation guide. It’s more like 6 months if you’re lucky. Absolutely hate this company and every staff member associated with them.

In September 20 I ordered 4 shutters…

In September 20 I ordered 4 shutters from this company. I had to give them a deposit if almost £3000.
I discussed at length with the sales person that I wanted to be able to open the top of the shutters in living room and kitchen. A second appointment was arranged to verify her measurements. I did not discuss this with this person as I thought it was just to check measurements. I signed for the shutters without further discussion.
Shutters were to be ready in 8 weeks and they were delivered to England in November between lockdowns but I was not given a installation date.
The UK in November/December went into full lockdown.
After Xmas 2020 I was given the 20 January as the installation date and paid the remaining balance which was almost £500. Of course we went into another lockdown and Clement Browne would not travel to N. Ireland as they state that shutters are not essential and are a luxury item and they would not put staff at risk. In the meantime they were continuing as usual in England. So I had handed over £3500 and had no blinds.
I offered them 3 options:
1. Refund my money
2. Subcontract the installation of shutters
3. Deliver and install shutters themselves
All of which they refused.
As for subcontracting the job they suggested I arrange and pay for the delivery on top of what had already been paid.
I contacted Trading standards who stated Clement Browne were in breach of contract and should be honouring their contract. However Clement Browne still refused to travel to N. Ireland.
I had posted a review before and someone from the company commented that I had been offered 'temporary' blinds which I was not. And anyway how would temporary blinds be installed if they wouldn't travel to install the shutters!
At last on 7 July 21 the shutters were installed. The fitter was very professional and cleaned up well. However as he was fitting the living room and kitchen I noticed that they didn't open at the top. Fitter checked immediately with head office and 'full length' had been ordered not tiered as discussed.
When I commented on this Clement Browne said that the second sales person had advised me I would not be able to have tiered shutters. This conversation did not happen!
The shutters are really great but not what was discussed.
This is a terrible company and I have never had such a bad experience.
Do not use this company.

Excellent

We ordered our shutters earlier this year and they were fitted last week. We are so pleased with them and they were well worth waiting for. They were originally measured by John who also fitted them. He gave us lots of choices and advice including having blackout blinds behind the shutters that work brilliantly and hardly take up any space. Once they were fitted there were extra fine details that were great such as each shutter opens to the left or right first to match with which side our windows open. We chose to have the shutters split so you can have just the top or bottom open or shut. This is great for giving privacy but still letting the sun through. Rosan in the office regularly updated us on our order. The wait time was longer than we originally expected, but this is common everywhere at the moment. Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Lovely product

Lovely product
We are really happy with our cafe style shutters. The quality is good and they are value for money. This is our second set of shutters. Mike did a great job on the fitting, he was very polite, meticulous and tidy. Customer service and communication has always been excellent.

Excellent Service

I’m so pleased with how our shutters look, they have transformed the room.
Steve who fitted our shutters, did a great job and cleaned up after each shutter was done.
I would highly recommend Clement Browne and have done.

STAY CLEAR - Clement Browne Ltd in Administration May 2021

Clement Browne Ltd entered Administration on the 28th May 2021.
I'm told they are not honouring any warranties to those who purchased before this time and 5% payment returns due to their errors will not be honoured too. It appears the company was sold in its entirety, but appears to be the key senior personnel from Clement Browne Ltd of old. They only visited me 2 weeks ago using the Clement Browne logo van and the like assuming the company name as though everything was the same. Never told me they are no longer trading. I have been due the 5% money back after all their errors which I've chased since January 2021 now told Clement Browne no longer exists.... Six months of chasing, very convenient.

There are no threats - this is what I do not understand. Your email states you will not honour my warranty, but you attended my home after the administration (which you never shared the company was in), but you will not give me my 5% back as you agreed.
How does that work?

I just want back what your terms and agreement said was due, nothing more.

Your review is factually incorrect and you contradict yourself within.

As you detail the brand Clement Browne did attend your home during mid-June to re-caulk your shutters at your request. This is after the date that you say we went into administration, so as you can see - we continue to serve our customers.

This is part of a continued train of threats for compensation by yourself, upon which we won't be blackmailed into submission.

Great result.

Finally after 9 months we have had our wooden shutters fitted to eight windows. We are delighted with the result but even more so with Simon who installed them. He arrived at the arranged time, was pleasant and efficient, taking great pride in his work and clearing up as he went. Thank you.

So happy with my shutters. This is my second set and they are absolutely beautifully finished and fitted with a meticulous perfection by Mike.
Communication is good, product is fabulous, fitters polite, skilful and work neatly.

Delighted with my shutters.

Delighted with my shutters, having recently extended my property I was looking to add some finishing touches and decided to explore my options.
Some internet searches lead me to Clement Browne from the the first contact I had with the company i have been really happy with the service I have received.
I was helped and guided with my design choices and colour options and fully explained the process including a expected deliver / fit timescale.
The customer service team kept me updated on changes and answered all my questions and queries. I have gone on to recommend to my friends and family and I'm aware one has recently placed an order and I'm confident they will be as delighted as me.

Thank you Clement Browne and in particular fitter Steve for two jobs well done. A very professional service both pre installation and the actual installation itself. Steve was very considerate when installing for my elderly parents who considered him both considerate and endearing. My installations were also excellent and I am extremely happy with the outcome.

Excellent quality and service.

Darren fitted our shutters for the whole house and his professionalism and attention to detail was second to none, the shutters themselves are of excellent quality and look amazing. From ordering to installation the process was very smooth, lovely staff with good knowledge of the product. Would recommend Clement Browne to anyone who wants their house to stand out from the crowd.

Company in Administration.

Be careful - I’ve just been advised the company has gone into administration and whilst the stock has been bought, the problems with my shutters haven’t - I still don’t know where my two extra shutters are or whether I will even get them. No mention of this on the website.

While what you report is true, it should also be shared that Clement Browne Ltd completed the supply and installation of every order, ahead of any changes being made to the structure of that company.

Unfortunately, Clement Browne Ltd, as an independent retail business, felt the full effects of the pandemic and have been unable to serve our customers in their homes due to government restrictions. We understand that most businesses will have suffered in some form during this challenging period.

Our difficulties were compounded by our major retail partner Laura Ashley going into administration in May 2020 which has also had severe implications for Clement Browne Ltd.

Despite these challenges, the assets and brands owned by Clement Browne Ltd have been acquired by a separate business, supply of orders has been completed and a seamless transition and continuation of business is in effect, with the large majority of customer warranties unaffected.  In normal circumstances no-one has been left without their shutters.

The people who are our business are grateful that the necessary changes means that we have been able to protect the jobs and livelihoods of all of our employees and we will be able to continue serving our valued customers in our normal way.

Mr Luck, it is my understanding, firstly,  that you are in direct communication with our managing director and that he is striving to resolve your situation with you.

For the people reviewing your post, and in the interest of giving some balance you placed an order with Clement Browne Ltd on 31/10/19 for seven shutters.  However, when we returned to install your shutters, two of the windows (in your garage) could not be accessed and, therefore, could not be fitted.  The other five shutters were completed.

We were later to discover that the two remaining shutters could not be fitted as after our final manufacturing measurements had been taken you completed further works around the garage windows, including plastering meaning that the shutters did not fit.

Despite many amicable attempts to resolve with you, you continually tried to transfer the blame for the shutters not fitting to this business, only compromising on 8th June 2021 to our offer (made in April 2021) that we would supply the shutters and reimburse you for the cost element of fitting those two shutters (being £157.76), despite our having the costs of attending your home to complete this work.

Had you compromised and responded sooner Clement Browne Ltd would have been able to fulfil as we had suggested.

To date, we are still working to deliver your shutters to you, but will regrettably be unable to reimburse the £157.76 too.

Superb experience from start to finish

Superb experience from start to finish. Although our measurer/quoter was not then able to do the fitting a few months later, the replacement fitters were ace. Steve and Dave were two of the nicest chaps you could wish to meet - personable, courteous, diligent and extremely hard-working. The customer service team kept us in the loop throughout the process and were readily on hand to answer any questions/queries. Not paying the stamp duty on our recent house purchase meant we were fortunate enough to afford to have the whole house 'Clement Browned' - we are delighted with the final product!
