These morons have destroyed what was once a reasonable set up.
The app doesn't work anymore. The ads have taken over and this happened without notice. You can't even pay to stop this.
Open the app and there is a whole-screen advert. Tap the (what you'd think was the) 'delete X', and, just like a con-artist, it takes you to where the advert wishes you to go. And don't think of opening it in public as the ads often have sound which can be embarrassing.
When you EVENTUALLY get to the cameras, more often than not they don't work. "Device Offline", even though they are not.
The desktop app doesn't work either!
And their website doesn't exist anymore.
This is the opposite of what it once was.
You have to be a 'special' kind of cretin to come up with *this*!

Unable to connect to Internet as per other reviews. Camera now useless

Shame there is no Zero star option Like other posters...the app is now useless and the system appears to be permanently broken so the cameras are destined for the bin. I'm really annoyed as I need to see what's going on and am a thousand miles away so can't just install a new system. Disgusting service

Same as everyone else... Cameras now all going in the bin as can't even log in... Just ordered 3 new TAPO cameras... Bye bye Clever dog and RIP from me.

4 cameras at home and all useless now! Adverts are not a problem anymore because there's a bigger problem! App won't connect to the internet and you can't see the view from cameras. It says connecting and it's not connecting. If you try to log out from the app and log in again it's impossible as it says "no network connected" even though you can see that cameras are working ( both blue lights are on". Rubbish! Very unprofessional trom the company! There is no way to contact them to ask what's going on. I think that's the end of clever dog and I will have to buy different brand cameras.

I have 12 cleverdog basic cameras including pan/tilt. I have stopped using them (or rather Cleverdog stopped) in favour of Septekon. Better quality outdoor/indoor cameras with good vision and host of good useful AD FREE functions.19/03/2025

We don’t buy surveillance cameras to watch adverts!! There never used to be ads but now I can’t access the camera without now having to watch adverts. I use this system to keep an eye on my 92 year old grandmother. I now can’t get quick access when needed. I’m now looking to replace the camera as it’s not suitable anymore. Very disappointed. ☹️

Terrible. Was a good product now useless with ads. Even when you try to get out of ad it takes you to another page. Rubbish. Avoid!!

How sad. A really good product has been rendered almost useless by unwanted adverts that were never mentioned or agreed to. Not only does this render the camera less than useless because of the time taken for the ads to stop playing, I am offended by the content of the ads. Put the price of the camera up if you need to make more money, because ads are not the solution.

The Clever dog up has become unstable and impossible to use with any degree of reliability. Nuisance adds come up constantly and they’re making it unable to connect the camera to WiFi.
Wasted so much time trying to get a connection. Totally useless and makes the camera redundant!!

It used to be good but in the last year the adds are unbearable. Before you open the camera, you have to fight these adds blocking your screen for ages. And it no longer works on more than one account. Useless.

App won't let you get to Cleverdog until you've suffered 2 or 3 minutes of mind numbing games adverts. As fast as you close one down another one starts, plus really loud music. Then when you finally do reach Cleverdog whatever caused the alert has long since past and any burglars will be well on their way home. Can't understand what Cleverdog are thinking - someone looking for home surveillance isn't going to be suddenly interested in games for 5 year olds.

Cleverdog cameras are really a neat solution, just such a pity the app renders them useless. Go for Kasa, Tapo Ring or something.

Would give it no stars if possible! It’s impossible to see the camera for adverts. Rubbish now

Cannot access app without adverts really annoying stay away

I have used this camera for many years to monitor my dogs while I am away. Recently, the application has become unusable because you are bombarded with advertisements as soon as you try to use the app. This has caused me to lose a lot of confidence in the data security of this camera and I am now forced to dispose of this product.

Dont buy!! 2 minutes of adds before you can look in your house to see whats going on. Now i have to buy a differant brand cam. Shame on you clever dog!!!!

Why have you ruined this once great camera with the adverts on your app! I used this for years and thought it was brilliant. I purchased more and recommended to friends, I am gonna bin them now. Sort it out please Cleverdog!

I can understand why the company needs to make money to cover the ongoing costs but it’s sad that they’ve abused the amount of time for advertising.Like many others my 4 cameras are now in the dustbin.

I have used clever dog (4 cameras) for quite a few years now as internal security camera. They were great little cameras at a good price and did a brilliant job of helping to protect my home. Sadly that is no longer the case. The company have introduced adverts and you can't log in to a camera without being bombarded with advert after advert. Very annoying and sort of makes a quick access security camera a bit pointless. I have emailed the company but was ignored.
So it's off to the bin for the Clever dog cameras. Bye bye.

Terrible! Used to be great but now you are required to watch several adverts before you can actually access your camera which completely negates the point of having it in the first place. I can see everyone is saying the same thing, please avoid!
