Absolutely terrible support team i have been asking for a human for months showing extensive reports of exam problems unstable website, extreme long loading times, can't sign in. cloud flare went down a while ago and they lost my account. I wish i could get a refund but i am just warning people to never use CompTia
CompTIA cancelled my certification when…
CompTIA cancelled my certification when I asked for help in uploading CEUs.
Horrendous
I wanted to take the time to share my experience with CompTIA because honestly this whole process has been frustrating and disappointing. I first took the Tech+ exam and failed it, which I didn’t think too much about at first because I figured maybe I just needed to study harder. But when I went back to take it a second time, the questions seemed way easier, which honestly made me question how I even failed it again.
Before the exam starts, they also mention that not every question counts toward your score, and in my opinion that just makes the whole process feel unclear. When people are paying good money for these certifications, there should be more transparency about how scoring actually works.
Another issue is that the CompTIA study material doesn’t really match up with a lot of the questions you actually get on the exams. I’ve been trying to get my A+ certification too, and it’s been the same experience there. You study one thing, then get hit with questions that feel completely different from the material you paid for.
At this point I’ve honestly started losing confidence in these certifications altogether. Between CompTIA and Pearson VUE, the whole experience just feels off to me. People spend a lot of time and money trying to better themselves and build careers, so the testing process should feel more straightforward and fair than this.
The certification bundle asks for…
The certification bundle asks for signing into Microsoft 365 with the organization email address, and I purchased this on my own.
The support is poorly designed to promise assistance in 24-48 hours, and this promise is given again after each ticket times out without a response from CompTia.
I agree with another review left that this company is being supported by the government without delivering acceptable service.
Breached GDPR!
They breached gdpr and sent me another customers details, was unable to book an exam for months due to this but they refused to extend my voucher! Awful customer service it’s like talking to a brick wall
Terrible study material and glitchy…
Terrible study material and glitchy exams. The monopoly on Comptia has to end. They make it so that even people who have been in the industry for decades can fail due to poor questioning so they can double dip on fees to resit exams.
Horrible Service, Horrible App. Overcharging for crappy Courses
My Networking Teacher forces us to use TestOut because he think that it is good for us but i think the opposite. TestOut is by far the buggiest website i have ever seen on any website. i either fail because testout secretly wants me to do it in a specific way, it doesn't count at all, or it just glitches and i get stuck. on the tests it doesn't allow you to go back either in case you made any mistakes which really ticks me off.
And THEY PURPOSELY TURN OFF SEARCHING IN THE LABS WHICH JUST ANNOYS ME.
and to finialize this. i don't learn anything from this hot garbage excuse of a learning website. no one in my class likes this shitty app and the teacher does way too much to enforce us doing testout.
and i forgot to mention that they also have horrible customer service and they don't let you leave a review on their platform.
No refunds for defecting training material
I purchased a AI Essentials training through CompTIA on December 3 of 2025 in addition to another training that was due in June 2026 to maintain a previous certification I had received from CompTia. I have a full year to complete the training to get credit. The training was non-functional and could only get through 40% of the training a paid for. I tried contacting their support in the following ways:
First ticket: I initially had issues with accessing the material after the redirect would take me to the second login screen. Took about a week to access.
Second Ticket: Then I got stuck on a question that was not accepting my answer and marking my answers "incorrect" when they were not . I used the "Report" function on the site to flag that question, which created another ticket.
Third ticket: I ran into more issues with questions and loading problems and couldn't make progress so I decided to request a refund for the training all together. I submitted a refund request through the Chat function, creating another ticket, however the chat bot/ "person" said I could not get a refund on the training because I already accessed the training. How would I know the training had all these issues if I never accessed it. If I did, I would never had purchased the training in the first place.
Forth ticket: Called the support number and talk to a phone representative because the chat bot was not helpful at all. That representative put in a refund request on my behalf. Fifth ticket: Talked to a company supervisor and they confirmed no refund I received a response saying that I can't get a refund because of an internal policy of 30 day windows for refunds, even though I get a year to complete it.
They also said I accessed the training and so they cant give a refund. How would I know the training didn't work unless I accessed it? I haven't even finished the training. The fact is I paid $99 for functional training and did not receive functional training.
Worst customer service ever…
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with.
Worst Dashboard for a training website.
Worst website for an IT business.
Why is this company still in the game? The government needs to stop keep obsolete companies afloat. Private sectors need their own training criteria.
Plus they demand and demand and make changes just to stay relevant when they have been irrelevant for quite some time.
CompTIA specializes in making…
CompTIA has multiple steps for you to go through just to pay your annual fee for recertification. I’m not sure why.
Helpful Support
Purchased two exam vouchers for co-workers, only needed one. They were helpful in setting up the return.
Absolutely no help from the Tech…
Absolutely no help from the Tech Support Dpt when you need it. The chat is there, but you are not getting any response because an email will be sending to you. WHY an email, what's the purpose of the Chat Support.
My certificate is not showing up on my account. I was told to wait 5 days. It has been 7 days, and they don't know what's going on.
Awful customer journey
Awful customer journey - I bought 2 courses just 2 days ago. I cannot access them, have not received log in details nothing. Ive contacted them nothing. DO NOT give these poeple your money
Unbelievably bad company to deal with
Unbelievably bad company to deal with, I pity anyone who has the misfortune of having to deal with them. Contacted 4 days after my mother’s death, to ask if I could get a week or two extension, to allow me time to get out of depression and get some study time in. Was able to prove what I was saying is the truth through death certs (which they asked for) and was then ignored. Was basically laughed at, messages ignored, ALL staff were incredibly unhelpful. Having to deal with this company is making me stressed and more depressed, so ya know what, you win, I give up. I won’t sit my exam, and I won’t chase up getting it re arranged. and to think these guys are responsible for our education.
Very poor experience.
Very poor experience.
The training quality and support were extremely low. The promise of helping with job placement is a complete lie — there was no real job support at all.
I would not recommend this company.
Payed content unavailable
I bought the Network+ course but now access to testout.com has been unavailable for three days straight. No answer to support requests either. I can only warn people to AVOID CompTIAs own courses if they can not guarantee availability when you want to do your learning ... they probably need to ask somebody who has IT skill ;)

The word terrible doesn't comprehend how bad this company is.
Refused to Make Exception Due to Technical Issues on Their Side
My CompTIA account had technical issues due to their SSO migration effort. I also stopped receiving e-mail messages from them during that time as well.
By the time I regained access to my account, my cert had expired by a few days. I worked with them to provide all of the details about how I was unable to renew my cert in time due to their issues, but they were less than helpful and only offered a discount voucher to retake the exam from scratch rather than allowing me to do CE. I had kept my Sec+ valid for over 10 years until this happened...
I'm not surprised by their low ratings on this site considering they scam their "candidates" in order to make more money selling exam vouchers.
