Update on a past experience that became better

Update:
Pearsonvue customer service called and rescheduled my exam and apologized for i had to wait more than 2 hours in the check in stage, moreover they provided a goodwell coupon toward any exam i wish to take in a year, i also discovered that i could have 90 days grace period to pay the annual fees and submit any courses i have taken during the period my certification was active, thanks God what a bless, i definitely had a very hard time scheduled 3 times and finally failed but i guess my efforts had finally paid, God is good, thank you comptia.

My initial post below
Horrible experience, because of technical issue on the onvue site and camera issue i had to reschedule 3 times, in one of these times i stayed more than 2 hours in the queue IMAGINE and you get NO REFUND for cancellation they send you between comptia and pearsonvue.. the servers + exam was nothing like the material on comptia or youtube and extremely difficult, very few questions were similar, the customer service tools and software used for assistance are very poor looking at yhe amount of money paid for the exam, moreover the experience you get at work is 100 time valuable and logic than the exam...i would suggest taking the udemy course but don t waste your money on the exam....hope that helped

Absolute Scam

Do not fall for the positive reviews about this IT certification. I took their training course, and it's horrible. It is very memorization-heavy, but when it comes to doing the actual labs and PBQs, none of what you learned really applies to it because it's so broad. If you want to do well on it, you have to take another training to a third party to better understand it, like Udemy because Comptia's training sucks.

The stupid proctor cancelled my exam because he said I should move the camera. My camera was on the stand. Before I moved it, I asked permission and waited, but no response from him. So, I went and moved it. Suddenly, he messaged me my exam was revoked because I moved. He could've let that pass. Pathetic.

I filed a complaint and they didn't offer me anything. Remind you this stupid certificate cost about $300 CAD. I wasn't even able to take the exam and was revoked unfairly and no refund!

Customer service is horrible. I emailed and called and had to talk to a different person all the time. Every one of them was dismissing the issue, they were hard to hear on the line, or cancelling the call because they had a "technical issue". This is an IT company. Pathetic.

On my next exam attempt, Pearson Vue asked me to close all my apps. Their stupid app cannot detect that I closed my applications before the exam. So, the proctor revoked my exam again. Luckily, on this one, I was able to reschedule it without paying. Still, I wanted to take the exam on the day I took it.

Disappointing Experience with CompTIA: A European Perspective

As a resident of Europe with a keen interest in advancing my career through IT certification, I eagerly invested in a package deal from CompTIA that promised both a comprehensive course and an exam voucher. With high hopes and dedication, I delved into the course materials, preparing diligently for the impending exam. However, what transpired when I attempted to redeem the voucher left me deeply disheartened.

Despite my earlier excitement and dedication to the course, it was only when I recently decided to schedule my exam that I discovered a critical flaw in CompTIA's service. The voucher provided, which was a key component of the package I had purchased, could not be utilized at European testing centers. This revelation came as a shocking disappointment, effectively rendering my months of study and preparation futile.

In my frustration, I promptly reached out to CompTIA's customer support, expecting a swift resolution to this oversight. Unfortunately, my experience with their support team only exacerbated my dismay. Despite clearly articulating the issue and the significant inconvenience it posed, I was met with a prolonged delay in response.

When a resolution was finally offered, it fell far short of satisfactory. Rather than taking responsibility for their error and providing a viable solution, I was left to navigate the complexities of resolving the issue myself. CompTIA's suggestion that I either manage dealings with their voucher provider independently or purchase an alternative voucher at my own expense was both dismissive and unacceptable.

As a customer who had invested time, effort, and money into CompTIA's services, I expected a far more accommodating and supportive approach. Their failure to acknowledge and rectify their mistake reflects poorly on their commitment to customer satisfaction, particularly for those residing outside of the United States.

In conclusion, my experience with CompTIA has been one of profound disappointment and frustration. I caution fellow European residents against investing in their services until they demonstrate a genuine commitment to rectifying such oversights and improving their customer support. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend CompTIA to others seeking IT certification.

CompTIA is only after your money

CompTIA is only after your money, and they will not respond to you after.
They sent my voucher using the wrong name, and after one year, they have not fixed it yet. I contacted them from the first day and reported my live teacher in the class.
They say a different thing every time. The last time, they said it was fixed, but when I tried to take the test, they refused to take it. They did not answer until one year passed, and now they say it has expired. They never issued the right certificate.

Never go near comptia

Never go near comptia, I did their certmaster CE to keep my cert. The system messed up entire time I even took photos of me passing as it messed up so much. Once I passed and the time for my cert to renew came I checked and it didn’t renew. I emailed and told my situation and sent through all evidence which is as good as it gets as proof as it shows full completion of each exam, they denied it, even though their system failed and I have proof of this and the head of customer service is the most inept person Iv ever encountered ( her name is Jenifer white) and she refuses to put me in contact with higher up manager. She is either stupid or vindictive either one is bad. Never touch it go near comptia.

The certification industry has a…

The certification industry has a reputation for being nothing more than a scam, and the recent behaviour of CompTIA towards their system failing to reschedule my exam (basically, 'It's your fault because you didn't check that you got an email'.) adds to the impression thoroughly.

I got through 4 different support desk people and was told the same story repeatedly: our website failing is not our responsibility, it's yours because you didn't get your email. If a clothes store tried to not deliver after being paid because the purchaser failed to receive an email, that store would rapidly go out of business.

I'd love to run a business that takes the money and takes no responsibility for its systems when something goes wrong at its end. What a grift!

And let's face it, in 2 years in IT, not a single person I've worked with has been interested in the slightest that I have my Net+ and Sec+. Unless you're LEGALLY OBLIGED to get these certs, dion't waste your time.

I paid about $650 for a bundle that included a voucher and a retake voucher. I work so it took me quite awhile to study. It’s been a year, but to my understanding I only have worry about the certification retirement date but in actuality the vouchers expire. The voucher literally expired days before I attempted to schedule my exam. I called customer service and spoke to Destiny and basically was told “nothing we can do”. I feel ripped off for a two main reasons.
1. It was extremely expensive and the bundle only covers core 1 and not core 2 (which I didn’t realize and that’s ridiculous for the price) 2. No extension, discount, or resolution was offered (you’d think the expiration wouldn’t be hidden in small fine print and why the company’s policy so adamant not to help a customers I.e. no returns all sales final mindset???)

Poor Experience with CompTIA Organization

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism exhibited by the CompTIA team. My experience with them has been marked by uncooperative support and an overall lack of professionalism.

Firstly, the support team was non-collaborative and failed to address my concerns adequately. Their communication was subpar and left much to be desired.

Additionally, I found the demeanor of the "protector" to be highly unappealing. The individual in question spoke in a manner that I found unprofessional and frankly, offensive.

Furthermore, the cost of the exam was exorbitant. Considering the quality of service provided, I expected better value for the price paid.

Overall, I cannot recommend CompTIA based on my experience. Their lack of professionalism, uncooperative support, and high prices make them an unsuitable choice for anyone seeking certification or assistance in the IT field.

they will steal your money

Went to take my exam, the day before my proctored exam I had to reschedule. CompTIA, themselves, states you have up until exam time to reschedule. So, I did, the day before, got the message that I was rescheduled, and thought nothing of it. then I get to my new exam date, and nothing was ever sent to me, I go online to check, and they have me listed as failure to appear for my test.

went to their support who won't investigate why I never got it, just said "oh well, we can give you a discount, but you're screwed" so they essentially stole $350 from me. they are a scam; I would get any other certification.

Not Worth the Money

My company paid almost 3k for an instructor led course that included an exam voucher and a retake voucher.
Long story short:
1. The instructor led-course is NOT worth the money. You can barely understand what the instructor is saying (English was not his primary language)
2. The course did not have a ser schedule. It was based on the instructor's daily schedule.
3. The voucher has an expiration date. And if you dont use your voucher you lose it. They will not give you another one. Even though you paid for it and simply didn't see the very small expiration date in the very bottom of your purchase email.
4. Lastly the exam is very hard to understand. Looks like they used Google translate on most of the questions .

I make comptia SA+ exam with a laptop with 15'' screen and it's just horrible... you can't scrool to see all the informations, the support have the worst microphone i heard for an exams you paid +300$...
And cheery on the cake when their soft crash you need to remake all the onboarding process. So i can't recommand it.

Exam questions worded horribly

I passed my online exam, but by the skin of my teeth - the exam questions were written in a way that made them very confusing, they were more a test of reading comprehension than anything else. You can't write anything or read the questions out loud to yourself either, Good luck if English is not your first language or you struggle with learning differences.

One of the PBQs had a lot of information in it and it didn't all fit on the screen, with no option to scroll to view it. I messaged the proctor for advice, twice, who never replied, so I just had to guess.

Very strange experience not having anyone to talk to, not even during check-in.

The A+ CertMaster learn and labs is a…

The A+ CertMaster learn and labs is a joke. It’s full of incorrect and misleading information, practice tests mark things correct when they shouldn’t be as well as the other way around, or the explanations are wrong or conflicting with the answers… Also, don’t become disabled after you’ve utilized the materials (but not all the testing), they don’t care. NO REFUNDS. They’re like dealing with the government, opinions and morals mean nothing. They have a book and that’s all they brainlessly follow. Just a certification mill and a money dump, not for the betterment of the industry or the economy. They don’t care, if you do happen to get that piece paper employers won’t know the difference of a good IT education either. They need all the bodies they can get these days, so CompTIA banks on that fact.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I have a lot of patience, and I know how hard reps work, but this was horrible. Needed a refund for a voucher due to a long military deployment and tried emailing back and forth, to which automated replies filled my inbox. Then I called, and the lady replied with such an attitude and kept saying my replies aren’t on file even though it’s all documented. Didn’t help with anything. Said her supervisor will get ahold of me, and I had heard that like 5 times the month prior.
