Condor Ferries was founded in 1964 and initially operated a passenger service between France and the Channel Islands. In 1987, the first service linking the Channel Islands with the UK was launched and since then Condor Ferries has operated a year-round service connecting the UK through Poole, and Portsmouth, the Channel Islands through Guernsey and Jersey and the port of St Malo in France. Condor Ferries operates the high speed ferries, Condor Liberation and Condor Rapide. In 1999 Commodore Clipper, a conventional car, passenger and freight carrying vessel was introduced to the fleet to offer an all-weather, year round service. Each year, Condor Ferries carries more than 1 million passengers and 200,000 passenger vehicles. Condor Ferries also operates Commodore Goodwill, as a freight only vessel. The Condor Ferries fleet carries 100,000 freight vehicles into the Channel Islands each year as well as exporting tonnes of local produce. Condor Ferries is also an active member of the communities within which it operates and supports numerous organisations, sports and charities through sponsorship and travel.

Condor App
I've used Condor many times between Portsmouth and The Channel Islands. The Clipper is basic and slow but has all you need.
I've never bothered about downloading the App but it was suggested to do so in the email received today for my booking next week. So, downloaded. It appears to be a useful little App apart from I couldn't find anywhere to add a current booking only to make a new booking. So went on live chat. Response was, check in as I usually do and then see a member of staff on board to help with the App. I love technology and do know my way around an App. There is definitely no where that is clear as to how you can add a current booking. What is the point of advising customers to download the App if they can't add a current booking.
Oh well, never mind. I just wish companies would verify everything on their emails/Apps before going live.
Perhaps it is hidden in a secret place that only on-board staff can access... Hmm... In the words of the wonderful singer Toyah Wilcox, It's a mystery......
Very impressed with the booking service…
Very impressed with the booking service after a senior moment on my part when I booked the ferry going in the wrong direction. I asked for them to call me, which they did immediately, and they changed my booking with no problem. I had expected to have to pay a fee as my original booking was not flexible but I was told I didn't need to.
The holiday that never happened due to travel today at 10am to…
We were due to travel today at 10am to Jersey the17th April 2023. We'were 6 miles from the condor boat in Poole and that 6 mile to the port took 2 hours .we got to the port 20 minutes after the boat had gone. My daughter in law changed our journey to the Wednesdayat 11.20 am. This is the 12th time we have used condor ferries and the cost to change due to no fault of our is £140.00 and we should have been notified.plus we have to pay for a hotel for 2 days .never will I use condor again they should have been more aware of the road works .and told us we needed 180 mins not 90 in the text. We gave our selves 120 minutes. To do 6 miles ,I'm 73 and this will probably be my last year to vist Jersey due to illness.
Travelling with our dog is incredibly…
Travelling with our dog is incredibly stressful with Condor as he has to stay in the car for the whole journey. Our trip over to Guernsey from Uk was not too bad although we were loaded early and so our dog was in the car for 4 hours rather than the three it took to travel over. The return journey was a nightmare as the Liberation was running on 2 engines so we travelled very slowly and our dog was in the car for well over 4 hours. Totally unacceptable Condor - no other ferry does this, they have designated areas for dogs, you have an outside deck so why can't this be used!!!! The journey was incredibly rough and therefore for us dog owners even more stressful. A totally archaic way of travelling and unfortunately one that puts a great many people off visiting the channel islands! We are supposed to be a dog loving nation - this is not the case, travelling in Europe is far more dog friendly, Condor you have a lot to improve on!

Had to change sailing due to bad weather. Was contacted by Condor advising of possible disruption and saying we could alter our booking via chat for free. Spoke to Callum who was super helpful (as well as being super busy). All sorted with confirmation email in 5 minutes = very happy customer.

First time using Condor Ferries and not…
First time using Condor Ferries and not likely to do so again! Birthday weekend was ruined by outward ferry being cancelled on eve of trip, then having to take an alternative early slower ferry. Travelling from Norfolk, we had to book a hotel at extra expense to ensure we arrived on time. On arrival we were informed our scheduled return ferry was in doubt, so on the advice(sounded sensible at the time) of the staff at the Condor desk in the terminal we changed to an overnight ferry service which would mean booking a cabin, again at extra expense! We were assured this service would definitely get us home in time for our other commitments, one being an important hospital appointment/treatment for my wife. Low and behold on the eve of our travel home we get a text at 8pm telling us the service we had changed too was now also cancelled and we would be put on the next available ferry which was 3 days later! Really! We were now having to arrange further hotel accommodation, again at extra expense and through no fault of our own. I spent the next 2 days of my break trying to sort things out and made 2 trips to the St Peter Port terminal to speak to staff there. Eventually, we were put on standby to get an overnight service on the Tuesday and managed to get on this at 7pm in the evening. On a positive note, all the staff I dealt with were fine and this is not directed at them in any way. In summary, the communication from the company was poor and the service was awful. The uncertainty of the travel totally ruined the weekend and what should have been an enjoyable few days away became stressful and upsetting, particularly for my wife. Condor should make amends for this but I doubt this will be forthcoming! Shame on them!
Appalling service
Appalling service especially given the extremely expensive fares. They have a monopoly so they don't care. They even own the only cargo operator that they work with Morvan fils.
Regularly announce sailings only to cancel to them in particular on the French routes. Still no Cherbourg sailings !
Sailing times are a disaster for connecting travel; they seem to not even look at the flight times for Herm, Alderney, & Sark ferries so always need to stay the night before and after sailing !
They don't accept American Express and no travel agents can seem to book them. They don't even offer land bridge tickets UK or Europe so cant book with other ferries on a through ticket.
Extra charge for dogs despite them having no facilities in port or on board. £20 for the dog to stay in the car. And no dogs allowed for Foot Passengers!
Wifi is slow and should be free!
No overnight parking before early sailings
WHY do you have to stop in Jersey on French Guernsey sailings And why do you make everyone get off!!
There are no viable options to send parcels direct from France to Guernsey because of Condors ridiculous cargo prices and no options at all for carriage on passenger sailings so its weekends only.
Horrendous customer service & questionable charge for pets
Arrived minutes after check-in closed officially. And despite all staff still being on site, they didn't let us board although the ferry wouldn't leave for another 45 minutes!! I'm a customer of Condor Ferries for 8 YEARS (but now I've been for the longest time) and experienced many delays, excessive waiting times in long queues and countless cancellations without explanation. Then once you arrive just minutes too late and the pedantic jobsworths choose to exercise power over you — even making uncalled for remarks à la "What you wanna do off the island? Can't you just do it here?" And when they're fed up they turn away like you're not there. They didn't even make an effort to help us, all they did was rebooking us on an awkward trip that gives us a day long detour (!), a more than necessary stressed pet with a 9 hr long ferry ride (instead of 3 hrs) and exorbitant extra costs as hotels and a second ferry ride need to be booked now. Fun fact: Only an hour after rebooking we received a message that the new ferry is delayed by multiple hours. LOL! Shame on you, Condor! Even one star is too good for you.
On a separate note it's unbelievable that passengers are made to pay an extra 20 quid for their pets (one way), but then have to leave them in the car for the entire journey anyway! Apart from the fact that you're being charged extra for your vehicle as well, which basically ends up being your pet's "allocated seat", the pet will be alone for many hours, scared and exposed to the unbearably loud car alarms that regularly go off due to the sea's movement as nobody checks or even reminds customers to turn off their car alarms. If Condor Ferries cared about their customers in any way they'd be more 21st century and designate pet areas on board or find some other pet friendly solution to this issue. Instead they literally profit twice from pet owners without delivering any extra service to them.
Outstanding customer care on liberation
We travelled from Poole to guernsey on Tuesday 20th. It was a little rough crossing.i was seated very near the information point. There were MANY people who were sea sick and sort their assistance. I cannot cannot praise the team enough for the caring and compassionate way they did their job.they were on hand to deal with all of the incidents with grace.
I’ve had some ok experiences with Condor, but….
I’ve had ok experiences with Condor, some issues, like their poor comms. However, I was disgusted in September when at bang on one hour before boarding they closed the gates to cars. Two minutes later two cars and a motorbike arrived. We were not boarding and didn’t board for another twenty minutes. So the local jobsworths from Condor stood on one side of the fence arguing with their soon to be ex customers as to why it was ok to not let them on. In the time it had have taken them to show how brave they were stood behind a 14 foot metal gate, they could have just boarded them in a few minutes and looked like saviours, getting amazing reviews online as a result, but they chose the “we are in charge” officious option. People would say an hour is an hour, well it wasn’t the week before when people boarded with 45 minutes to go, and they were so slow processing that people were well outside the hour because of queues, and it made no difference to the departure time both times. Someone else mentioned in their review about small island mentality, and that just about sums it up.
Appalling service
Appalling service. Got to St. Peter Port, Guernsey early to be one of first off at Poole as disabled and wanted to get home to take meds. 3rd in queue but not loaded in order of arrival and ended up one of last off. If I ever use this company again, I will at arrive with 30 seconds before check-in time ends. Prices on board for the captive audience they have.

We were 5 mins late to check in because of a delay of an hour and a half ferry crossing from Alderney
The pilot had rung the captain and told him we would be alittle late and was given assurance we would be ok
There were three families two with young children
Cars were still loading but they refused to let us on
It was 7oclock in the evening
We all pleaded with them but they would not budge
We had no where to go no other ferry running for at least two days
Heartless thoughtless and cruel !
We had to find hotel, taxi, flights, and it cost us over £400
Goodness knows what the others family bills were as we were an elderly couple
We sat there bewildered for an hour
no one helped us by giving us advice etc and the ferry took all that time to leave !
In these hard and difficult days ?
They knew we were still to arrive ?
Completely awful
I will never go near them again and it doesn’t say a lot for their island mentality

I do believe it would of been very useful to mention photographic evidence required on the same page as booking the crossing as it wasn't mentioned until I'd booked the tickets as I was away on holiday I had no photo evidence and when turning up was refused boarding not best pleased
Zero customer service
Simply no customer service ferries often run late; no live chat and if you are lucky enough to get through they will charge you £4 for the booking; web site full of issues what a way to run a business ?. It would appear customers have become a nuisance and it shows.

Despite them stating in their terms and conditions that there were designated smoking areas on board. I am currently facing a four hour journey with no designated area available. This is false advertising and I won't therefore use this company again.
Excellent Service from Condor
Excellent Service from Condor.
Travelled a couple of times already this year via the Commodore Clipper from Guernsey to Portsmouth return. Firstly - book the cabins - they are clean and very useful. Secondly - book the extra to go into the private lounge. Complimentary (OK, you have already paid for them...) snacks, newspapers, water, hot and cold drinks. The food on this service is excellent - I can definitely recommend the fish and chips. Don't believe all the negative reports on this site - yes, Condor has problems but it is often out of their administration's fault. Don't forget the majority of the staff are paid a pittance as well. They do a tremendous job under trying conditions, and whingeing passengers do not help!
Next time FLY
This mob are never on time.
Cars are of secondary importance
The freight is king.
Rude uninterested staff and eye watering prices combine to make your holiday a nightmare.
Booked ferry online do not use
Booked ferry online got to end of booking there was a error in the payment page so done it again same again on the payment page error so no booking was made it was for £380.00 each booking
There was no confirmation from Condor about the booking
After looking at my bank 3 day later condor had taken both payments
Phoned condor was told they would refund one of the £380.00 but the second payment there is a cancellation fee of £90 this is not right it was condor Webb site that was not working by the way the Condor Ferries Webb page is run by a third party do not use with your bank cards
Everyone please be carry full using Condor Webb page they do not take the responsibility for anything
Stuck on this boat..
Stuck on this ship that left late and has been hanging around in Guernsey apparently waiting for someone as they don’t want to leave people behind??! Who is this person or people. Boris Johnson and his entourage??? Also never called out that we could see the dog and by the end of this saga he will have been stuck in a cage for about eight to ten hours. Rubbish service.
