A joke

Currently an hour late leaving Poole to Guernsey . Giving us some excuse that they need a permit to get the maps in order to sail and it's a world wide thing WTH!!! plus also told be sailing on 2 engines . This is not my main concern tho it's fact that I believed that could see dog any time if asked member of staff when I booked, but the first time we were allowed to see dogs was 2 hours after sailing and even though not sailing still not allowed to check on dogs into said time. Not Happy!!!

9 and half hour delay on the way to Jersey due boat breaking down. return trip cancelled and had to book my own ticket to ensure we could come back as a family. Their option was to separate the family to get home.
was an absolute shambles.

Appauled that they can get away with…

Appauled that they can get away with it. Ruining holidays and breaking children's hearts. They can't control the weather but can control mechanical breakdown and the way in which these things are handled. Shame on you condor ferries. Authorities should be looking into their conduct and customer services.
Never again.

A very bad experience…

I have just had a very bad experience with Condor in trying to get back from a holiday in the Channel Islands; all the issues are well covered in previous reviews, so I won't repeat them. This is the only company sailing between the UK mainland and the islands and it is just not up to the job. Tourism contributes only a small percentage of the Channel Islands economy and so it seems that no one in authority cares very much about this appalling transportation that is letting everyone down. I won't repeat this experience!

Terrible

This company is a joke. We're currently four hours late to Jersey and counting, something to do with the Liberation's stabilization system is broken and they've been trying to mend it for hours, we keep being told it'll be fixed soon, meanwhile we're all penned up on this godforsaken craft with completely inadequate information and no idea when we'll ever get to our destination. Tantamount to a scam. Avoid at all costs.

Condor cancellation - again, again!

Condor ferries used to run a reliable ferry service between the Channel Islands, the UK and France. Then they replaced two catamaran fast ferries with a single trimaran which they called Condor Liberation. It soon got the nickname Condor Cancellation.

It breaks down all the time, it can’t sail in strong winds, it can’t enter some harbours even in moderate winds, the list goes on. Channel Islanders DO NOT book Condor Cancellation if they have to be somewhere on a certain date or time; it’s far, far too risky.

For that they book passage on good, old reliable Clipper. Except Condor have now started also cancelling THAT in strong winds. All of a sudden a ship that has plowed the English Channel in all weathers for decades can’t cope with a force 8, for goodness sake!!!

Dunno who’s running Condor these days, certainly not sailors. Maybe its Aussie banker owners. Bad news for the Channel Islands.

Only passengers with return tickets…

Only passengers with return tickets were allowed to go home!
I travelled on the Liberation service from Poole to Jersey at the beginning of Sept. The outward sea journey was ok (bought my own food)! Coming back when the weather was rough and the Liberation can't sail was something else.
Condor staff in the UK told me I couldn't book a return journey as there were no boats available. On enquiring about this remark it transpired that they were only letting the people with return tickets sail on the Clipper to Portsmouth. I had to stay on the Island for an additional week before I could get back plus the cost of accommodation and food.
I've written to Condor and their reply was disgraceful to say the least, waiting for them to reply to my second letter!!!
Condor should not be allowed to have the monopoly particularly when Liberation can't sail in bad weather - what are folks supposed to do?

AVOID at all cost.

AVOID at all cost.

We have traveled with condor to Jersey from poole. The outward trip was fine. Other than the poor quality of the food on board.

The problem started on the return. We attended the port at 2pm sat with everybody else and started to receive text messages stating the condor liberation was delayed.

We then moved through security sat in line and all hell broke loose, cars started driving off all the condor staff disappeared it became like something from a disaster movie.

When we found someone they told us the boat can not get in the port due to " weather".

We found all the condor staff ran away to be replaced by port policing including search dogs.

Our next available sailing for the service we had booked was 2 days later which we had to accept.

I then rang over 25 hotels and could not get a room for the first night. We (and over 50 other people) was standed in the terminal. We was forced to go and buy bedding and with a 7 year old sleep in our car.

One thing I need to point out is that the port of Jersey staff was incredible they offered beds, blankets, tea, coffee, water and left the terminal open. The management was caring and supoortive, a credit to the port.

Condor staff working for the company I entered in to an agreement with could not care less and just went home.

Condor will not offer additional services but only offer to use you to fill the gaps in other sailings.

Other familys opted for the slow boat (the clipper) to be boarded at half 9 at night and left at 4am for a 9 hour crossing due to tidal restriction (anybody would this this is there first crossing)

Jersey is amazing just let down by an operator with no moral standing that purchased a boat clearly not fit for the channel.

Visit Jersey just fly.

The state of jersey needs to be openingthe port to other charters, condor have had control for to long

Daytrip booked with Condor Ferries to …

Daytrip booked with Condor Ferries to depart on 9/2/18 at 9:15am. Booked a hotel room for the night before to make getting to the terminal easier in the morning. At midday on 8/2/18 (less than 24 hours notice, and only about an hour notice to cancel the hotel booking) they let us know that our trip had been cancelled and we had to rebook. This was the middle of the day and I spent over an hour on hold with a number of companies for the remainder of the day trying to find out how to reclaim the money for our unused hotel room booking. Turns out that the hotel can't, our travel insurance can't and Condor Ferries are unable to sympathise with their customers and do the right thing. We had taken time off work and paid money for the hotel, both of which we have been able to get back and cost us money out of our own pocket. I have explained to Condor our circumstances and they appear morally unable to accept that this is their fault and they should have either told us earlier (so that we could find a way to refund our hotel booking and rearrange other commitments.) And revert to legal backing in order to clean their hands of the fact that they've caused us significant travel disruption and lost money as a result. Truly unacceptable behaviour, and live up to their name. CONdor Ferries.

CON-dor ferries very apt title.

We were due to return from Jersey to Poole on 2nd October but due to a technical fault we were delayed 24 hours and on 3rd October had to embark in Guernsey as ferry still only running on 2 of its 3 engines.
There were 30 of us in the party and we were all given a voucher for £7.00 to purchase food on the ferry which I later found out when purchasing items the voucher only allows purchase of hot food or prepared sandwiches you are not allowed to purchase the meal deal or any branded goods.
I complained to a mature Scottish lady about this and was told very abruptly "don't have a go at me I only work here"
I had already decided not to purchase hot food as I had heard people saying it wasn't that good because it's been hanging about too long as it was in hot trays throughout the 4 hour crossing.and I ended up with two packs of ready made sandwiches.
What a con these vouchers are.

DAY TRIP FROM JERSEY TO ST.MALO CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF BERTH

My wife and I have booked day trips on Condor Ferries from Jersey to St.Malo on several occasions and each time it has been fine. Earlier this month we booked a trip in early December using a voucher from JT Rewards. We paid an additional £10 to Condor for travelling on a Saturday and the booking went through fine.

Two days ago I was called by Jennifer at their Poole office to tell me that the sailing has been cancelled due to the unavailability of a berth at St.Malo. There were no other day crossing during the period we were on Jersey and she said that she could not refund any money as it had been booked with a JT Rewards voucher. Less than helpful in my opinion.

Two days later, I had the good fortune to speak to Amy at Jersey office and she could not have been more helpful. She checked alternative sailings and when she confirmed that there were none available she arranged a refund of the £10 supplement for travelling on a Saturday and sent me a helpful e-mail which I could take to JT Rewards for a refund.

I find it very strange that a company as large as this would not have precise berths contracted before issuing a schedule and taking any bookings. It is certainly not good practice to cancel sailings for this reason after bookings have been taken. Were it not for the kind assistance I received from Amy, this would have been a one star review and the company's first one on Trustpilot.

For the records, JT Rewards have said that they will arrange a refund on the voucher, but I wonder how we would have gone on with Condor Ferries had we booked and paid for services in France ?
