Conister Bank ... have I been seduced by the interest rate
I just applied for a fixed rate deposit at Conister Bank (top of the table on comparison sites for a 1-year term). However, I am increasingly concerned after the 'onboarding' process that I might have been seduced by Conister's recent vaulted launch of a digital platform:
'As Conister Bank grows its presence in the UK, its focus on digital tools and customer-first solutions makes it a strong choice for retail and business customers looking for modern, reliable banking' (see Conister news and insights on site).
This is only a snippet but it projects the tone nicely. Conister's newish embrace of modernity, however, does not seem to include same-day value Faster Payments to fund out fixed-rate deposits for an example. Clarification has been requested, directly messaged, on this as well as the exact 'how' and the 'when' maturity fund transfers instructions are executed/ returned to the customer's nominated account. Having ploughed through T&C's with a magnifying glass (my poor vision!), it is not all crystal clear.
'Direct Transfer' is referenced in said T&C's more than once in a rather annoying fashion. With clarity and tracking purposes in-mind, updating processing services and terms with exactitude - FPS, BACS, and CHAPS et al., and firmly delineating all deadlines and value timelines in play - would certainly help. The generic processor appears to be NatWest.
As ever and in the interest of balance and fairness, I am very happy to consider upgrading rating and review ... if it is merited.
