Our bags were delayed after a long and gruelling trip from Australia to Croatia via the US. We were forced to buy some additional clothing to cope with the change in climate and also get some of life's essentials.
CoverMore accepted our claim for Delayed Luggage Expenses without question or delay. The online claims process was easy to navigate and a delight to use. Well done CoverMore

I took out insurance for a recent trip to Lord Howe Island as the flights are often disrupted due to weather and other issues, and wanted to make sure that I was fully covered. The flight to Sydney had mechanical issues at takeoff and the flight was aborted/cancelled, and Qantas rescheduled us to a recovery flight the next day (and provided overnight accommodation). This meant that I missed my connecting domestic Jetstar flight that was booked separately to the Qantas flight - so I had to purchase a ticket for another Jetstar flight the next night to get back home from Sydney. When I went to claim the cost of the additional Jetstar flight the claim was denied. Travel disruptions that result from mechanical issues are excluded on the policy wording. I am really disappointed that Covermore has excluded such a common and reasonable reason for travel disruption. I would not have expected this to be an exclusion in the policy wording. I guess I will just learn from this and I will never use them again.

Cover-More has had our claim for 6wks now. They have requested a document that was sent in the original email 6 wks ago. Every time they request a document the clock resets and it takes another 10 days. They have proceeded with an outcome not including the invoice that was requested and sent and have again requested the document. Continued to call and they have advised we have the document/invoice yet are still requesting the invoice. Complaint was made. I have had not contact from them and no outcome resolution.
Very very poor customer service and communication within the organisation.

This was my first travel insurance claim- we had to cancel our holiday to New Zealand because of a serious medical issue. I submitted the documents online just before Christmas and the claim was approved just after new year and paid out a few days later. I’m very thankful for this. I submitted a doctors letter confirming I wasn’t fit to fly and I’m glad this was accepted as the form they give you (only when you start the submission process so I hadn’t seen it) was very long and convoluted.

I broke my ankle in Bali contacted Cover-more insurance the service was terrible I was left for 3 days in agony unable to get a cast as Cover more would tell me they had all the information and if they needed anything would call me, each time I followed up. Finally I found out they wanted an incident report but nobody had mentioned this. I was unable to remember the restaurant name as I had just popped into it to eat. in the end I had to pay over $1500 to get treated because cover-more would not approve the claim. Spoilt my holiday as I was in agony couldnt get to the bathroom or move around without getting a simple cast.
I submitted a report which I got restaurant to sign and send to Cover more this was very difficult as they dont speak english and the manager/owner was on holiday. One week later cover more responded by email saying they do not accept that and the report must come from the restaurant. This is AFTER i asked them if they have a template for the report and what specific details they wanted. i bet once I leave Bali my claim wont be paid basically they insinuating I was drunk, so they wont pay if you were intoxicated which I was not but yeah . I guess i will be heading back to the restaurant broken ankle and all

The insurance was reasonably priced, however, I lodged a claim and it took over 2 months to be approved. I was very disappointed by this since I provided all of the necessary paperwork that they asked for immediately and they never asked for anymore after that.
I will not be using this service again.

Insanely bad. needed to add one SE Asian country (Thailand) as I forgot to include the couple of days transfer via Bangkok. Calls through cancelled or rung out multiple times so getting through to start was bad enough. Entered all information re pre-existing policy purchased - computer system forgot it. Tried to add the country (simple enough task) - couldn't. Advised they needed to cancel policy and send me through to new claims. Rang through to new sales agent. None of the previous information provided was there ready to go. Went on hold for multiple periods (on phone in total an hour for the call!) - as computer system in background broken. Finally get the new policy set up. $100 more expensive (!? how?) - asked them to double check and make the price sharper and equal the pre-existing policy amount. They refuse. Because I am on hold for nearly an hour - I google alternative travel policies - find one more than $150 cheaper. Let them know on the phone of cheaper equivalent policy (has the extra coverage I was after) - still won't match. Ask them to cancel policy and ask for a refund given they have jacked the price up and won't price match existing policy with minor addition plus my extended waiting time and was a previous customer. Only receive partial refund. Ask to make sure I am sent through to the customer service portal to leave a review and feedback. Phone doesn't connect through to the Ai agent for this and disconnects. What a shamozzle. Bonus is our found a cheaper, more extensive travel insurance policy option for future. What a lost opportunity.

They emailed me the form to fill in - which was easy & I had no trouble filling in the information & documentation required. Responses via email - of where the claim request was, at every stage of the process, was very enlightening. I felt confident my claim was going through the right channels in a timely manner. The final response on my claim was completed in a few weeks, with the compensation amount deposited into my bank account. This was really impressive and Cover- More was efficient & professional with a high degree of communication. Excellent Service!

Want to add my kids to my existing policy. The travel agency from whom I bought the Covermore policy has closed. Covermore customer service agent insists I call a company that does not exist. Tried 6 or 7 times to point out the absurdity of this but she was intransigent. Have been a Covermore client for 25 years, but will be buying elsewhere from now on.

We bought international travel Insurance cover from CoverMore and paid $240 for our policy. There were flight delays from our carrier leading to missing our connecting flight in Europe. We filed a claim and the case processing did take quite awhile and all this time we were told that the assessor takes at least 10 business days to respond to the queries.
In the end our case was denied, and we learnt something which was quite eye-opening for us, that they don’t cover missed flights due to flight delays for a duration of more than 12 hours. This is something which is not very obvious from their policies and buried somewhere under PDS.
What a massive waste of all that money we spent on insurance and our time as well filing all those paperwork for assessment!
