I love the structured layout, the coaching feedback and the support that is always available whenever you need it. I have a tech background but Data Engineering was a big shift in mindset for me. I will also honestly say, you will get what you put into it, just like any program. The difference is, you have coaches and they go above and beyond to make sure you are successful. I would like to give a big shout out to Afnad Saeed for his support thus far in my journey. I am getting close to the finish line and am excited to make a career change into Data Engineering.

I had a great experience with DEA. The onboarding team (Afnan Saeed) was excellent, and the coursework is top-tier. Their SQL and Python classes were especially helpful for my development. I highly recommend DEA for anyone looking to upskill or successfully transition into a new career.

The coaching style is very good

The job application team, especially Kajal and Manya, was very helpful, and their consistent, organized approach to job applications made a big difference in my journey. I also appreciate the DEA coaches(Avirup, Azmat and Nehal) and CSMs for their guidance and support in helping me prepare for interviews. I truly value the support of the entire team.

I had the opportunity to explore Data Engineer Academy while learning more about data engineering. The program offers structured materials and hands-on exercises that help build practical skills. I appreciate the effort of the instructors and the team supporting the program.

Overall, I appreciate the effort the team has put into supporting my job search. Over the past month you all have submitted more than 200 applications and have had three potential interview opportunities so far. While the results have not translated into an offer yet, I do see consistent effort from the team in helping identify roles and keeping the process moving forward.

The current market is competitive, so I understand the process takes time. My focus remains on continuing to apply to relevant roles, preparing for interviews, and improving my positioning for opportunities in data analysis. I am encouraged by the progress so far and I appreciate the ongoing support.

I enrolled in the DEA's Diamond and the AI programs in Feb and April of 2025 respectively. However I was hit with multiple serious health issues and was in long term disability - including issues with both my corneas and one retina that prevented me from any kind of screen time. Chris Garzon called me when I almost gave up on the programs after talking to my CS. He gave me 95% discount on the renewal after considering my health situations. I am so grateful that I did not lose out on two excellent programs on offer by DEA solely due to my health conditions. Chris's generosity and humanity saved the day for me. The technology, curriculum and support is equally top drawer stuff in my experience so far before going on the medical leave. I look forward to be able to complete my programs, thanks mainly to Chris and Afnaan (and the rest of the unsung heroes at DEA).

I joined the Data Engineering Academy in November, and it has been an amazing experience so far. The resources provided are comprehensive and easy to follow. Having a personal coach for support and guidance has made my learning journey even more valuable and motivating.

Curriculum & Technical Depth

What I appreciated:

It wasn’t just surface-level tutorials. We had to actually build pipelines.

Concepts like data partitioning, orchestration, schema design, and performance tuning were explained in practical context.

There was emphasis on understanding why certain architectural decisions are made.

If you’re someone who likes structured learning with applied implementation, this format works well.

Projects & Hands-On Work

The biggest value for me was:

Building end-to-end pipelines instead of isolated exercises.

Working with realistic datasets.

Deploying pipelines to the cloud instead of just running locally.

I joined the DEA course last July, and I cannot recommend this school highly enough. From day one, the instructors and staff have been fully committed to my success, providing constant support and guidance as I worked through the curriculum.

It is rare to find a program that combines high-level technical training with this level of genuine empathy and flexibility. If you are looking for a school that actually cares about its students' progress and personal circumstances, this is it. They are truly the best in the business!

I signed up with Data Engineer Academy to increase my technology depth. I love that they focus on topics that are directly relatable to today's DE demands. The curriculum is relevant, the content is engaging, and the instructors actually work in the industry, so they can provide direct real-world example and use cases to study.

The course has evolved over the time I've been with the program which tells me they are always looking to keep it relevant to this ever-changing technology.

The coaches do a great job at giving feedback and the courses are real helpful and improving your weaknesses and getting you ready for the interview.

I signed up with DE Academy slightly over a year ago. I was mainly sold on their job search service - I hate the application process, and after a year of unsuccessful attempts and annoyed by low conversion rates, I decided that someone who would do all the hard work for me would be a great solution to my problem. I had been in the DS role for a few years at that point, so learning new DE skills was useful. It took me longer than most folks due to personal reasons (and I was not in a rush). The job application started a month ago, and all I need to do is to prep and show for the interviews. Today I landed an offer that's a 70% raise to my current salary. The guys absolutely delivered what they promised.

had a full mock interview today with Juhita,uhita asked thoughtful, relevant questions and paid close attention to both my technical answers and my problem solving approach. What stood out most was the quality of her feedback , it was clear, honest, and very actionable. She highlighted my strengths while also pointing out areas for improvement in a constructive and encouraging way.
She explained why certain answers worked better than others and gave practical tips on how to structure responses, think out loud, and communicate more confidently under pressure. This made the session extremely valuable, not just for interview prep but for overall professional growth.

I am about 2.5 months into my courses, I feel like the course material is quite thorough and manageable to understand even if you are a beginner (like myself). The instructor’s are always extremely helpful and friendly whenever I am in need/ practicing my skills. They will always provide good feedback and what I have noticed feedback that I never would have thought make such a difference in helping my understanding. So far, I would definitely recommend if you are on the fence of wanting to g to break into data, but nervous. Once I got started there was no looking back. I am enjoying my experience and very excited for what the future holds!
