Fantastic supportive environment that teaches beginners to become accomplished players all within an environment of fun

It does exactly what it says on the tin. I have always got stuck at a certain level with piano playing and now I feel like I am flying and loving every minute.

I'm not yet a member of the decplay club , that's to come , the beginner course is with out doubt far better than I anticipated it's easy to understand and go back a lesson when you want read up more .
Declan is always encouraging everyone to play , I can say I'm having fun playing and getting better day by day it's great .

DecPlay is brilliant! I had piano lessons from the age of 6 to 12 or 13. I never enjoyed the enforced practice although I attained a few certificates and awards. I could never actually read music but had to work out things slowly by ear and let the muscle memory take over. My Dad said at the time that I would regret leaving the piano behind and in my later years I realised that he was right. At the age of 69 I read about Dec Play and decided that if I didn't try again now then it would be too late. What a good decision! After two months I can say that the DecPlay system is far far easier to get your head and fingers around. The first few lessons have been easy to pick up and help in a click away on the PC. Numbers for the cords is so easy. I am now looking forward to piano practice, not dreading it! I'm no Emerson or Wakeman but feel very good about achieving something after a 67 year break!! I am 72 years old & have tried learning to play piano more times than I can remember with no success. I just couldn't get to grips with reading music & always ended up feeling frustrated & disappointed with myself. When I heard about DecPlay I thought it seemed too good to be true. After many emails to them asking questions (all of which were answered promptly & helpfully by Declan & his team) I finally signed up & I'm so glad I did. Eight weeks on & I'm playing half a dozen songs with confidence, enjoying this new musical journey & excited to keep improving.

Substantial structured and very focused introductory information and support - particularly clear and reassuring for newcomers to the piano/keyboard. Manages to keep the content moving without applying unhelpful pressure. The learner has reasonable freedom to generate her/his own pace and depth, but is nudged forward in a light, humorous but purposeful manner. Fun!

The lessons are generally very short so there are a lot of them and it’s a bit confusing at first, but stay with it. The method is ingenious and it works.

I find it difficult to get to the sheet I need.

It's an innovative way to learn the piano. The only negative is that there is no feedback on how a person is doing.

The whole system you use is just so encouraging, with very clear guidance on the way. I’ve tried to learn to play twice before, but with your system I feel very positive about the future. Thank you.

After 80 years I’m experiencing something new and feel hopeful about improvising. While on holiday in UK I had a go on the railway station piano, made friends and had a great time. So I’m looking forward to the future

Easy to understand and practice. This is excellent.

I never played a note on a keyboard until discovering my fathers keyboard in the attic. I inherited it 38years ago and it was up there all this time. I have been playing the chromatic harmonica for five years by ear, so i know a lot of songs by heart. I decided to find a way to learn to play the keyboard and came across the DecPlay Piano website and decided to try it. Due to my past career, I have reduced flexibility in my elbows and shoulder, and not very flexible fingers. I listened to Dec's advice and found it very encouraging. I devised a set of exercises to improve flexibility in my fingers and began to follow the course after reading through most of the beginners chapters. I practice twice a day (I am 89 years old) and I am pleased to say that I can now, after 5 weeks or so, play a couple of the first songs as recognisable music. I mostly play with earphones so the keyboard is muted to save the torture of my practice from my wife of 68 years (to late for a divorce) To relieve monotony, I attempt some of the tunes I play on the harmonica, even attempting to copy them out with numbers system. I am encouraged by the simplicity of this system and hope that by Christmas this year I cane surprise my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by playing them a carol or two especially Amazing Grace. I would recommend DecPlay to anyone who wants to play a piano or keyboard.

I must congratulate Declan for making such an easy and helpful piano course. I am enjoying taking part immensely.

My course is complete with beginner within a month be able to play two songs.I am happy with the progress although still long way to perfection.

I am so glad that I discovered Decplay. I’ve wanted to learn the piano for many years but couldn’t understand reading the music. When I looked into doing this course it gave me some hope. I love the fact that you can do this course at your own pace and can go back to parts that you don’t quite get. You can also slow the speed of the teaching down which I found to be very useful. I’m really enjoying learning the piano and would highly recommend joining.

At 78 years old you could think me too old to start learning piano but with the Decplay system I'm not!
After just a couple of weeks I could play a proper tune ,amazing.
I had never played a musical instrument in my life before .The system and the backup are excellent .
