Ideal for Europeans that regularly move within Europe
In the past 3 years, I moved between Germany, the UK, Switzerland, back to the UK, and then back to Germany again. I really wanted a truly European broker that I do not constantly have to get a new brokerage account. Degiro does exactly that. Great interface, not intimidating for beginners and it has all the main exchanges and stocks available. I might move back to Switzerland next year, and I know that I can keep my Degiro brokerage account. That is a huge plus for me! I should also mention: fees are super low!

Great experience with Degiro
No serious complaints so far. Very good platform for trading/investments in stock markets. Price is cheap and generally transparent. Their customer service is slow sometimes but overall satisfied. They have been making improvements in the platforms - really like the the way news and financial information about companies is shown on the platform.
A few improvement that can be made:
1. As an improvement it would be great if the financial information about the companies can be exported to excel.
2. Provide information in English for German accounts.

Very few fees, often cheaper than "free" order broker !!
Immediat execution of orders, great.
For friends of ETFs: There are some to buy without any cost and without a minimum amount. That makes a saving plan possible.
Prices for a buy at NYSE or NASDAQ about 1 € for stocks of 1,000 USD!
Negativ: Due to the Dutch regulation, there is no automatic transfer of my German duty to pay taxes on wins. I have 5 banking/broker accounts for trading. 2 "neo"-broker, 2 banking institutes and DEGIRO. In most categories DEGIRO is best.

Not accepting transfers
Was just told that I can’t transfer stocks from a portfolio at another broker to them, because they don’t accept any new transfer since August! So either they are bankrupt or this is completely unacceptable. Will transfer my entire Degiro portfolio to another broker and report them to the Dutch Financial authorities.

Due to a high volume of requests, there are currently delays in processing portfolio transfers to and from DEGIRO. Therefore, any transfer request is unfortunately taking longer than you would normally expect from us. We are working to process any request as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
If this delay is not acceptable to you, an alternative for transferring securities would be to liquidate your current portfolio and re-establish it with Degiro.
Despite the progressive digitalisation of financial transactions, transferring securities is not as simple as clicking a button. It is a manual process that can take several weeks.
The processing time depends not only on the institution transferring the securities, but also on the cooperation of the receiving institutions and custodians. In some cases, other entities are also involved in the transfer process.

I am satisfied with my experience so far. One drawback is that it don't have English version, so it could be problematic for international users. Also some charts are delayed and this could be improved. But since Degiro is supervised by Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) so I am sure that my money is in safe hands.

I am Irish and live in Germany
I am Irish and live in Germany. Onvista will not let me open an account unless I update my meldebescheinigung which is a piece of a paper proving where I live. But with Degiro it was very easy to open an account compared to other german institutions. And they are are very cheap compared to ING Bank for example. I like that i can see my day profit and loss as well as total profit and loss where as with ING I can only see total profit and loss. One negative is that if Degiro go bankrupt you are only secured up to 20,000 Euro whereas with ING it is up to 100,000. But Degiro is under Dutch regulations and they seem to be very strict so it does not concern me at the moment
