Incompetent customer service and pathetic delivery service

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received during my recent order. One of the items was missing, and instead of helping, your customer representatives, Sara Islam and Mohamed, were incredibly incompetent and rude. They didn't even bother to check with the restaurant about the missing item.

I had to call the restaurant myself at 2 AM to find out that your delivery person only picked up one item and left the other behind. Despite being hungry at that hour, it was the restaurant, not Deliveroo, that took responsibility and sent their own person to deliver the missing item.

I spoke to three different customer service representatives from Deliveroo, but all were dismissive and unhelpful, refusing to take any further action. This lack of support is unacceptable.

Don't be fooled by Deliveroo. Talabat and Careem provide much better service and actually help if your order is incomplete. Deliveroo doesn't care about their customers at all.

I ordered my order

I ordered my order, the address was correct, everything was correct. I never received my order, it was indicated delivered. I waited more than four hours. Nothing received, it's unacceptable, they don't want to reimburse me.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Food arrived it was ice cream, completely melted with non of the toppings I paid for or any of the sauces. 150aed for nothing and Deliveroo won’t refund me or even speak to the restaurant!

No food delivered, refused a refund.

I only post rarely but I'm hopping mad. Just had a run in with Deliveroo. We ordered a takeaway from the Hu Nan Chinese restaurant in Leeds via Deliveroo yesterday.The delivery window was given as between 1715 and 1745.

The delivery driver eventually arrived at 18.07. He started by asking for our "code" - which has never happened with any other delivery companies. We told him. He then handed me the bag, and it didn't seem like it contained the food we'd ordered, so I opened it to check. There was no food, just 3 or 4 drinks cans.

We told the delivery guy it wasn't our order. Initially he insisted it was, then went running back to his car - taking the bag with him. He came back saying it wasn't his fault (which we didn't think it was anyway).

We then phoned the restaurant who (quite abruptly, though I suppose it was Friday night so they would have been very busy) said refunds were nothing to do with them, and we needed to contact Deliveroo for one.

And that's when it went wrong. I completely accept that mistakes happen, but what marks decent customer service is how those mistakes are handled. In this case very badly!

What? There's nothing about taking a photo on the website. So told them we didn't have a photo. Next response:

So we can make sure that orders are successfully delivered, you may be asked to provide your rider with a two digit code. Once this has been received, a delivery can be deemed as successful. I can see that your rider obtained this code, so we won't be providing a refund/credit/redelivery in this instance. We're sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

Once again, nothing on the website about not giving the code until you've checked the order - and I doubt the delivery people would be happy to stand around while you did. Also - the guy asked for the code BEFORE he handed the bag over, like it was a prerequisite.

Surely Deliveroo could check with the restaurant- who must know the wrong order was sent - or with the delivery guy? Anyway luckily, the entire exchange was captured on our Nest camera, so it's indisputable. Told Deliveroo this, and they showed no interest.

I won't be using the Hu Chan restaurant (Raglan Rd, Leeds) again, nor Deliveroo. We normally use Just Eat and have never had any problems.

It's now in dispute with Amex. It's only £33, but it's a matter of principle.

Phew - glad to get that off my chest. And remember: if someone suggest Deliveroo, just say NO!

Worst experience of my life

Business to business service is SO BAD! They just ate my money for five months and they always make me do so much hard work for my product pictures in the end to just get rejected just because they waited a whole month to even review them and then they go “oh your product pictures are not in the good format or your link expired” SO WHY DO YOU WAIT A MONTH. And when they call they want it immediately. TELL ME HOW ITS POSSIBLE TO DO THAT THREE HOUR JOB IN FIVE MINUTES!! I want a refund or else I will sue your company and report those employees to the board of directors and you can happily be unemployed.

Worst delivery app, the drivers get lost, they deliver to different address or drive to opposite directions, you most of the time don’t get your food. I don’t recommend at all

Removing / Adding Ingredients

I cannot eat cheese at all, it makes me sick. Every time I order from Deliveroo, I ask them not to add cheese onto my food. Again today, my meal arrived with cheese on it after I specifically told them "NO CHEESE!!!" This is not the first time that it has happened. Every time that this happens, I am left hungry and having to try and figure out another solution. Why give customers the option to add or remove certain ingredients if you are not going to full fill on the request? Removing or adding an ingredient is not a suggestion.

More than 1h delay for the food, I couldn’t receive the order anymore i had to leave to work. They didn’t cancel the order apart from my request. They just advise me if i couldn’t it to dispose it after when i get home. Money lost!

Order never delivered bad customer service for updates

Today was the first day of Ramadan and I ordered the dinner whi h never arrived. I waited two hours for my order and in the end was advised upon calling customer service that the restaurant is closed. The status tracker continued to display the order would be delivered at 0105am. All updates on the Deliveroo App were false and in the end they said the would make it up to me. No idea how as I have to figure where to find a place to order from after midnight.

This is one of the worst apps ever I had ordered donuts for myself from Krispy Kreme, and it is one of the worst decisions I ever took because it took so much time. It took two hours to come, and I had already paid the order. The rider has said the location was wrong, and it was out of his region and he delivered it to some wrong home, and the company didn’t even refund me back on my money. It is one of the worst apps ever such a time was such a Disgusting staff not at all helpful at all. They literally just ate my money up and they didn’t give anything in return. I didn’t get any refund. The agent just told me to go and change my location in the app and I said that I would never even download this app ever I’m uninstalling it because it is literally the most useless app ever I would recommend noon and talabat service more .

I recently upgraded to Deliveroo plus…

I recently upgraded to Deliveroo plus and since I have my orders are taking more than an hour to an hour and a half to arrive from restraunts only close to me. I order EVERY day from Deliveroo and I have decided I will stop and change to another app.

If I could give zero

If I could give zero , I would do. Made an ordered through Deliveroo. Specified exactly what was required. Order was wrong. Rang Deliveroo.sent a photograph for proof. Cannot replace. Tried calling the phone no wrong no. Staff so rude. Calling my POD daughter blind.
Spoke to supervisor at Deliveroo. She told me cannot help . Told me phone no to restaurant were unresponsive. Thought only humans could be unresponsive . I have no choice but ti escalate to DED for a refund. As replacement cannot be done . Only asked for the wrong ordered to be replaced. Nothing so difficult.

So disappointing !

Very bad with finding a solution when a mistake is made. Only chat no call possible to explain, a piece of my delivery was missing because I added a note at the wrong place on their app, and they didn’t offer any solution!!! They just let me down!!!
