Love it!

I love this book! its truly for any artist at any point in their career, I was dissapointed after leaving art school how little was taught on the bussiness aspect of the working career as an artist, and this book is the perfect manual. Thanks Delphian and all authors involved.

Bought a superb book from the Delphian Gallery and although they were sorry for it taking a long time coming, I thought it was more than an acceptable delay considering the situation. The book itself is a lot of fun, and a nice addition to my library. I wish I could buy one for many of my friends.

This book arrived quickly and all I can say is it's really good. Lots of great advice that makes sense. It's written in a friendly, supportive way, with honesty and a real view to sharing ways towards success with artists.

"Navigating the Art World" is a compact yet very insightful and useful book that accompanies the reader through the meanders of the artworld with Q&As with artists and gallerists.
Proceeds are used to support young artists, so the endeavor goes full circle on its topic. Commendable!

A fantastic book for artists in any form of the medium from painters to photographers, sculptures and beyond.

This book is one of the best guidelines that any aspiring artist should read. It is providing the fundamental notions relating to the world of art, which is something that is really hard to get online or from among the available connections - mostly because all the information that you could find in "Navigating the art world" are made by reliable sources.

There are so many nuggets of truth packed into this insightful book that I’m sure I will dip back into it for years to come. Meaning it’s not just for emerging artists but also those maturing into their practices. The range of contributors made it feel like an honest, raw view of the art world and how to ‘be’ an artist. Words and phrases that will stay in my mind: be discoverable, it’s a long haul, form a community, contribute to the community, love your work and write about it, social media is a business tool. Excellent read.

I bought this book at just the right time from the gallery as I set up business as an artist. It's an easy read, has really practical advice and more importantly is up to date with suitable advice about going forward into the digital world. What I have also been impressed with is the galleries follow up and customer care. When covid restrictions are over, I look forward to visiting the gallery! Money well spent. Thanks!

Insightful book including useful advice for early career artists. Read it quickly, but will be returning to it again for inspiration and advice. Hope Delphian produces more series like this with resources for art professionals.

This book is great for…

1. emerging artists who are just entering the art world and who may have questions like “How do I price my work?”, “What if I really don’t like social media?”, or “How do I become noticed?”

2. artists interested in completing an MFA or are just entering grad school. Perhaps you are coming from a small town and moving to New York, or maybe you are self-taught and feel a little behind on “how things work” in the art industry.

3. artists who may have already been in the scene a while. This book is reassuring and encouraging even if you may know about most of the topics covered. For more accomplished artists it discusses questions such as “What do I do if I hit a plateau in my career?”

4. Dad, Mom, or Brother who don’t understand how the art world functions. Or maybe Grandma who has suggested you “simply bring your slides to a popular gallery and have a solo-show with your wonderful work.”

It's a nice little guide for the starting and established artist to market their work. A must have!

This little book is well written and goes straight to the point with practical advice that is directly applicable by any artist at all stages of their career. It also reflects quite honestly and courageously (for a gallery) on the new opportunities for artists to market themselves and how the gallery model needs to adapt itself to stay in the game.

This is an excellent book for any emerging artist, or indeed someone unfamiliar with current trends and marketing.
It's packed full of practical tips advice and know how.
Its an easy read and a must have in these days of social media etc.
I thoroughly recommend it. Its already prevented me from wasting valuable time on tasks that would have no benefit to me whatsoever.
