Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 55 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with product quality, including furniture that quickly deteriorated, had damaged parts upon arrival, or was not fit for its intended purpose. Reviewers also frequently experienced poor customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to get a resolution for their problems. The delivery service was a major source of frustration, with many reporting significant delays, missed deliveries, and a lack of communication regarding delivery dates. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, praising their helpfulness, knowledge, and patience in assisting with choices. Some customers also noted that the delivery team was helpful in setting up the furniture, despite overall issues with the delivery process.

Bad quality sofa-bed bought on finance

Bad quality sofa-bed bought on finance. The sofa had issues from day one and developed more defects within weeks.
DFS tried to put the blame on me. I had to go through furniture ombudsman and I won eventually. It took 18 months for the whole situation to get resolved.
Avoid at all cost!!!!

Disappointing and Uncomfortable Experience

Review: Disappointing and Uncomfortable Experience

I purchased two of
the Jardin sofas less than a year ago, and I regret it deeply. From the moment it arrived, it was clear that this sofa was not designed with comfort in mind. The cushions are incredibly firm, offering little to no support. Sitting on this sofa for even a short period becomes an uncomfortable experience, as the lack of padding makes it feel more like you're sitting on a bench than a plush sofa.

The back support is equally disappointing. It doesn't contour to your body at all, leaving you feeling stiff and sore after sitting for a while. The cushions seem to have lost their shape within a few months, becoming lumpy and uneven. I expected much better quality, especially for the price I paid.

Aesthetically, the sofa looks fine, but that's where the positives end. The poor build quality and lack of comfort make it a terrible choice for anyone who values a comfortable and supportive seating experience. If you're looking for a sofa to relax on after a long day, I would strongly advise against purchasing this one. It has been a huge disappointment, and I'm already looking for a replacement.

Our sofa was 18 month old when recliners started failing, so far two mothers down and now been 4 weeks waiting for a third party engineer to attend and fix again.
Warranty is by someone else and useless.

Won't buy another from there

Definitely not recommended

Avoid avoid avoid this company like the plague if you're looking for good customer care and service and especially if you have any issues following furniture delivery. 8 months from first reporting an issue with the frame of my reclining sofa badly rusting and with said rust permanently damaging my carpet they dragged their heels and stalled at every corner to avoid rectifying both issues. They insisted I organise a carpet clean which was futile, they insisted on me allowing them to paint over the rusting frame which was also futile. In the last week the sofa frame was replaced at their insistence resulting in yet another visit and a huge waste of my precious time and are now refusing to deal with the still outstanding issue of the damaged carpet caused by their faulty furniture. And heads up folks, if you want proof of what conversations you've had with them on the phone, record all calls yourself. When I requested a transcript of all calls between us to support a court claim I was advised by them that they don't always record calls or retain them for any length of time.

Rock hard cushions, totally uncomfortable

Had my new sofas delivered today. They cost over 2k. They are the most uncomfortable sofas I have ever sat on in my entire life. The seat cushions are rock hard. To the point my back is hurting after 45 minutes. Just awful. Its not possible to even get comfortable on them! Beyond disappointed. Wish I could've afforded to get another sofa from Next.

Incorrect Feet

I purchased a 2 sofas, including a sofa bed.
It was delivered 31st July, 2023.
The feet on the sofa bed are the wrong colour.
I have been waiting since then for replacement feet.
I’ve had at least 8 txt telling me that the feet were in stock & with the supplier & someone would contact me.
I’ve also had emails saying they were in stock and still nothing!
The last email I sent on Monday wasn’t even read properly because they didn’t acknowledge my complaint & simply said yet AGAIN - that the feet are on order.
I would never buy so much a cushion from them again!
P.S This has gone on so long now I had to amend the date so I could post the review!!!!

Complaint

Complaint
My new sofa arrived on 24 August under order no MAZQBL6ZG. There are a number of concerns here which is why I would advise everyone to run from dfs, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM, it is a high risk!
1. My herringbone pattern flooring has been scratched and chipped from one side of the room to the other where the delivery driver dragged it across the floor, dfs are refusing responsibility for this despite the photo and video evidence!
2. The delivery driver screw the legs into the sofa so tightly, the wood is cracked in almost every single leg.
3. The sofa delivered is a completely different feel to what was tried and tested in the show room, it is less than 2 weeks old, and already looks ready for the tip, it is sunken, bad quality and horrendous filling.
4. A service manager came out to see the sofa, and that was just the style of the sofa apparently, and agreed theyre awful quality.
5. Darren from the returns team, told me I need to pay £160 for a return despite the sofa being of awful quality, and different to the warehouse, and the legs all being damaged upon fitting, not to mention the chips on my brand new flooring which cost £3k!
6. Darren from the returns team then told me I didn’t have the right to return the sofa, as I’d seen it in store.
7. The service has been absolutely shocking and disgusting. I am stuck with a sofa, whoch is not fit for purpose, with all damaged legs, and chipped wooden flooring.
8. BEWARE - run a mile!

Unprofessional and horrendous

My experience has been absolutely hideous. They staff are clearly untrained and don’t give a monkeys after they have had your money. My sofa has been delivered three times in the wrong colour. It really beggars belief and I would never ever use the company again. Honestly folks go anywhere else but this store, particularly Cambridge as the “Manager” in that store is as uninterested as possible! Disgraceful overall

Firstly i don't even give them one star…

Firstly i don't even give them one star but that's not an option,i ordered a 4 seater and 2 seater that we liked,it was 4 weeks for delivery which I thought was pretty good until delivery guy arrives with just the 4 seater,he said i should have received a phone call to advise me of this but i didn't,it took me a week to find someone who could tell me why i didn't get full delivery,2 seater was left behind and they couldn't explain it(full of apologies alright but nothing else)I've had to keep chasing them for updates even though i was told by a manager i was his number 1 priority so I'd hate to be further down on his list as i had to keep contacting him about it,i was eventually informed that my missing sofa was due to be delivered to distribution centre on Friday 2nd August and i would be receiving it on Sunday 4th August(i was phoned and given a delivery slot and assured sofa was ready for delivery)and surprise surprise no delivery so i contacted customer service who eventually admitted that they didn't even have the sofa and it might be the 9th of August before they get it in distribution centre, you have to ask the question how can they LIE to you and expect to get away it,I've paid for 2 sofas and only have one, shocking disgraceful customer service, take a chance with them if you want but don't be surprised if they shaft you and leave you high and dry!!!

Really bad customer service support.

Really bad customer service support.
My leather sofa has developed blue patches.
They will not accept it isn’t my fault.
CAB gave me a form to claim a new sofa.
I cannot find an email anywhere for head office.
I will have to print and send it.
Next step the ombudsman.

Purchased a 5 seater recliner corner…

Purchased a 5 seater recliner corner sofa from DFS Beckton. Was delivered but had a foot which came broken. Delivery team requested for me to call DFS support to arrange for a technician to come and repair it. I made a call and was told I will receive a call back. I did not receive a call back. I only received a call from the store manager only when I complained and was told a technician will come within a couple months and that she will call me the next working day to arrange the date. It has been over a year now and I have not had the part replaced or receive a call.

Purchased a reciner 3 seater sofa and…as..

Purchased a recliner 3 seater sofa and recliner chair £3300 paid by visa was told 1 week delivery by salesperson. Gave away our sofa and chair in anticipation of receiving new furniture. The delivery never happened although many phone calls were made to DFS. At this very moment in time would not recommend DFS and any verbal promise commitment from them, full of words with no commitment to money paying customer's. Order placed on 8th July promised for 18th July 2024 did not happen despite calls made to Ashford DFS.

Do not buy leather from DFS.

Brought a sofa around £2,800. Started having problems with the colour comming off.on several ocassions. Pictures were taken seat covers replaced. Eventually blame was accepted as we would change the sofa. So we did we then purchased French connection in leather colour zinc. App £ 5000 just over. Exactly the same has happen in 6 months we had to have them come out . And there after seat covers changed re coloured. After 4th visit we had enough ive asked to have it changed . Only to be given its wear and tear. Do you take blood thiners. Lol. Its the heat. The guy who repairs told me it's a problem they have. They will do nothing so I'm left with a awful looking sofa which never looked new paid over £5000 for it went wrong again after 6 months related seat cushions to be told wear and tear when on the first sofa purchase to be accepted as faulty. DO NOT BUY ANY LEATHER SOFAS . I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO SORT THIS. ITS DREADFUL . HARD WORKING PEOPLES MONEY . JUST DISREGARDED LIKE IT DOES NOT MATTER. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Can't remember the exact date this all started.

Broken sofa and parts missing on delivery expect me to pay 4,000 for a new sofa to have it repaired because the parts were missing not a chance have been fighting with you for a refund for 6 weeks under act 15 I am intilled to a full refund so give me my money back or you will now get taken to court and pay court fees too a manager from banbury came out to look at it and agreed it was faulty and bolts missing so why after q week were we told can bring the bolts out and put more stuffing in no way I have told you time after time I want a full refund and compensation for the crap you keep telling me for example your policy says a technician has to come out and look at it no you don't the law says under act 15 we can have a refund your policy is not the law
Trading standards know about what your doing to people you really need shutting down all you do is talk people into buying something send crap out not fit for purpose and don't want to know give me a refund
This is now a safety issue because the bolts are missing the recliner collapsed so turned the electric off so don't get reclined if my grandaughter uses it and jams her foot or hand in it I will sue you big time so get a van to pick this crap up and give me a refund
If anyone is thinking of buying from dfs DONT they don't even ring when they say and won't give you a phone number only customer service who tells you you will get a call in 72 hours then don't and you call them again and get told anther 72 hours crap company actually breaking the law by not giving people a refund for faulty goods NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN

5 stars from me

I felt I had to write this review after reading so many poor ones and worrying that I shouldn’t have ordered my couch from DFS.

Saleswoman in carrickmines who sold us the couch was brilliant. Couch arrived on time and was what we ordered. Great tracking system for keeping an eye on the delivery timeline etc from placing your order down to picking the delivery slot. They even deliver on Sundays.
I’d give DFS 10/10 currently but we’ll see how the sofa wears over time.
I’m not affiliated with DFS at all.

Disinterested staff

Visited Blanchardstown store today. Staff completely disinterested in helping customers. Assistant spent 2 minutes with me then told me I could look up sofa information myself online. She then ran back to chat with her other colleagues. All four sitting around, talking and having fun chat while ignoring customers in store.
