DFS sofa. Buy at your own risk

We bought a three seater recliner from DFS. We now have a sofa that is too hard to sit on, waiting, covered, in the middle of our living room, unused. DFS were extremely friendly and courteous up to the point were the sofa was delivered and after two evenings my wife developed a stiff neck and a pain in her back. They have refused to take it back or give us a refund. It was very much harder than the one we sat on in the showroom and they have now told us that it "needs wearing in". My wife's reply was, if she tries to wear it in, she will end up in A&E. We have hid a brick wall. We have since found that others have had exactly the same problem. Looking on social media forums (too late/ we should have done it before going to DFS) Their after sales care is very poor. Stonewalling legitimate after sales problems seems to be company policy AND they appear to be reading from the a script. I wonder how many more people are in the same position?

Bought the okra very dissatisfied you…

Bought the okra very dissatisfied you have to puff the cushions up daily which would be okay if it was just the back ones it’s also the sit on which are heavy, if you don’t feels like your sliding off, I’m 72 and find this difficult got them out they said there’s not a problem, will never buy from dfs again nor my family discusted with them

I am extremely disappointed with DFS…

I am extremely disappointed with DFS due to the appalling behavior of their delivery man. His rudeness and complete lack of professionalism were unacceptable—he treated me with blatant disrespect from the moment he arrived. This kind of behavior is inexcusable, especially from a company that prides itself on customer service. My experience has severely tarnished my perception of DFS, and I cannot in good conscience recommend their services to anyone.

Carrickmines - Bad experience

Was reluctant to buy a certain couch due to colour and was worried about it getting dirty as we have 2 dogs and children with additional needs, she advised if we take out the extra insurance then it would cover stains and also full clean if becomes discolored, firstly trying to make the claim was a nightmare, was passed all around different locations....turns out the insurance doesn't cover cleaning and it is a she said he said situation....even though myself,husband and kids heard her say it...what a waste of money....I will not be buying from dfs again, nor will my family and friends please train
staff to not lie when trying to make a sale!

Orka corner couch won’t click together

Got the orka corner couch for my first flat, delivery was good and the sales person was lovely however the actual couch is shit, it’s in two parts and clicks together we moved the room around and the couch won’t click back together no matter what we do! So when ever we sit on the couch it comes apart

Arrived quickly and on time

Received my sofa today I placed the order on 30/12/24 I was told it would be here the end of Jan/start of Feb it literally only took 4 weeks! I bought my sofa in the Hanley store and the workers there were lovely, efficient, and helpful. Once I ordered I checked delivery reviews which were terrible so I began to worry HOWEVER the communication was great, I was informed of a delivery date the week before and of a delivery time period 2 days before. On the day of delivery the delivery people told me they would be with me within an hour and got to mine around 10am (I was given time period 8:37-11:37am) the men carried it in and unpacked and screwed the legs in, they were very efficient and friendly. I asked to keep the wrapper for my old sofa which they happily let me do.

There are many bad reviews for their delivery service which makes you worry like I did but I really didn’t need to, everything was completely fine, and I’d use DFS again.

I don’t think this company is worthy of giving them a one. The worst customer service I have ever received from any company in my life. The sofa I bought is not fit for purpose and getting somebody out to look at it is near on impossible

I ordered the three and two seater…

I ordered the three and two seater Livia sofa from DFS. It arrived in November and we are only in January to say I’m so disappointed is an understatement after paying nearly €2,000 the sofa is going flat, if so much as a drop of water gets on it there is water marks!! I phoned DFS their answer “you didn’t have insurance and it’s says any marks should be professionally cleaned” seriously water is a basic! I would never buy again I can see myself having to purchase new sofas before the year is out but it won’t be from DFS!! I don’t have children so imagine if I had or animals disaster.

Bought a expensive corner sofa a year…

Bought a expensive corner sofa a year ago. Took our this fantastic cover with guardsman had a few claims which were not done properly last claim they decided to cover some of the chairs. 6 months still nothing parts in country they don't know where they are called DFS 72 hours later call back basically told nothing to do with DFS as complaint is with guardsman. So keep away from DFS and guardsman large companys don't do what they say or lok after there customers

Awful loco bed sofa uncomfortable…

Awful loco bed sofa uncomfortable seriously unhealthy posture delivery cost £100 and got abused and threatened by a 6ft5 lummox inside my own property who after asking them not to unpack it in THE GUTTER he started taking the mick and abusing me on my street making a scene and then dumped the sofa in the living room infront of my old sofa against the wall on its end for £100!!!I complained and dfs reluctantly after several telephone complaints with cctv proof part refunded me for the cost but only to the finance company! I have a spinal disability and it's made it significantly worse it creaks loudly, Staples are falling out of the structure and the cushions are flat making it not fit for purpose and faulty I tried over the past 12 months to exercise my consumer rights and reject the sofa and every time they have refused its a costly £800 mistake from clever sales pitch lies at the store peice of trash that's nothing like the sister display sofa i was assured was the same structure just slightly different style arms! never buy from dfs again with this money grabbing attitude failure to accept liability and very bad experience still negatively affecting my quality of life and health

A £2000 leather sofa lost colour

A £2000 leather sofa lost its colour after three and half years of normal use. The company just wished their hands of it and were not interested. I would not recommend buying from this company.

Avoid Avoid Avoid !!!!!!!!! the worst customer service I have ever experienced , 4.5k on a suite of furniture to have the sofa delivered 2 days before Christmas , you might think that was a result just a shame the other items haven't been delivered , trying to get answers like pulling teeth , latest being you will receive a call on the 15th of Jan , totally unacceptable

Avoid DFS like the plague!!!!

My daughter is currently awaiting a sofa from DFS - the courier has delivered half a sofa and a chair! The store seem unable to help and unable to locate the other half of the sofa!! How can this be?? Dreadful service, dreadful company - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Happy to take your money and lousy at service !!

Finally got our sofa delivered within a…

Finally got our sofa delivered within a hare’s breath of Christmas,3 weeks of getting fobbed off from original delivery date . Wrong back legs that are incompatible so sofa is sitting on the floor .
1/3 of our sofa was sent with the wrong back but considering we was facing Christmas without furniture we were just happy to have something.
No contact from dfs ,no return phone call no offer of any sort of compensation, nothing at all.
Not even a mention of waving the delivery charge at least
