Different Snow are fantastic, couldn’t recommend them enough. They obviously know Japan so well and have put a lot of thought into their suggested itineraries because it really was the most amazing holiday. Part of the package included guides they had written, a separate one for each part of our holiday; these were invaluable, especially the hints and tips, and made the trip so much more enjoyable. Their attention to detail in our itinerary made the holiday go so smoothly and puts them streets ahead of other travel companies. Thank you Nick and Jess!

Different Snows attention to detail regarding travel arrangements, hotels and advice on resorts was impeccable. There was a lot of traveling within Japan which all went without a hitch. The resort guides were accurate, honest and very useful. Would definitely recommend them for a ski trip to Japan

Before we went - listening to our wants and needs, asking the right questions and setting out the options, clear communications, patience in adapting to us changing our minds (always going to happen in a group), clear financial deadlines and easy to pay as individuals (again, helpful in a group), detailed itinerary with a huge amount of useful information before we went. We were well prepared for our trip and all with minimal effort on our part.

During - Nick's expertise and local knowledge clearly pays off as the itinerary went off without a hitch. The ability to just settle in and enjoy the time you have there without having to worry or spend precious time working out how to get from A to B or what you might find when you get there was invaluable. And of course, Nick and Jess can’t make it snow but they did do the next best thing…book us a guide who took us to all the best stuff!

Nick and Jess and Different Snow organized our recent ski trip to Japan. Their planning, attention to detail, flexibility, and availability were exemplary. We have never used any travel company that even comes close. Thank you Different Snow!

I rarely do reviews as i am of a certain age, however i am compelled to do one now after returning from our trip to Japan. We contacted Nick at Different Snow last October and with his help we planned a 2 destination ski trip with a little down time in Tokyo at the end. The information that Nick and Jess provided us with prior to leaving was incredibly detailed and the planning appeared to be meticulous, the only question we had was whether the trip would run as smoothly as planned once we were on the ground. Well it did - everything they had arranged went like clock work. Despite the weather conditions we had a fantastic 2 week trip and although we didn't get the absolute Japow experience we were hoping for we can't really blame Different Snow for this. As and when we go back to Japan we will definitely be using Different Snow to organise the trip for us.

From arriving in Tokyo, onwards to Sapporo then to Hakkaido and arriving at our accommodation in Hirafu village, all the connections and driver picks worked very smoothly.
Great chalet apartment in Hirafu village, with ample space for 5 chaps. Clean, great kitchen lounge area.
Convenient walk to lifts but having our own van worked well to get to other resorts.
Onward transfer then to Sapporo back to Haneda, on to Nazawa Onsen all very stress free. Nazawa was the counterpoint to Niseko, if you like seeking out a different experience, this is the place. We loved it.
Onwards to an amazing visit with the snow monkeys, so pleased we followed Nicks advice. Delivered safely back to Nagano to Tokyo via bullet train for a few amazing days.

Just came back from a 2 week trip to Japan (including Hakuba for 8 days, Tokyo for 3 days) organized by Nick Coates, his team and company. I have nothing but praise for this company. Amazing, honest and continual communication, fabulous bookings (hotels, guides, trains, day trips and shuttles) and detailed information package about everything you can expect when travelling to and within Japan. He was always responsive and helped troubleshoot when plane was delayed. Responded to emails quickly. Everything was as planned and scheduled. While we were unlucky with snow on this trip - no JAPOW for us :( , the experience was fantastic and we learned alot about japan. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them if you plan a trip to Japan. No reservations.

Just returned from a trip to Japan, organised by Nick and the team at Different Snow. It was amazing. He organised a seamless holiday, from the pick up in the airport, the transfers to Hakuba, activities (hire, passes, guide), then onto Shibu Onsen and the Tokyo. All excellent. His pre travel info was also extremely helpful. We would definitely use him again.

We had a superb experience in Japan thanks to Nick at Different Snow! Nick listened attentively to what our needs/wants were out of a 12 day adventure to Japan. He put together a tailored agenda for our stay, booked all hotels, and all modes of transport. We went skiing in Hakuba and Nozawa Onsen and also spent several days in Tokyo. Everything went seamlessly and we never had a doubt that things were taken care of every step of the way. He also provided very detailed guides on everything we would experience which took away anxiety around travelling halfway around the world. I'd recommend Different Snow to anyone who wants to have a tailor made trip of a lifetime to Japan!

We have just returned from our trip. We spent 6 days in Niseko 3 days in Nozawa and 4 days in Tokyo, All the organization was spot on , Pickups, Tour guides , Hotels All as promised, The material Nick put together was top notch and easy to follow, I have never worked with such a professional company, Even when BA messed up our flight Nick took care of rearranging our transport from CTS to Niseko ,

we will defiantly be using Differnt Snow again

Many thanks to Nick and team at different snow for a F A B U L O U S nearly 3 week vacation. We just returned from a trip of a lifetime to Japan which encapsulated culture in Kyoto, Tokyo sightseeing and 11 days in Niseko skiing. The attention to detail is second to none. The process is flawless and the documentation excellent. Nick is a proper operator. Would love to do this again. If you want to go to Japan and experience a flawless skiing experience with bells on, this is the Company to go with.

Excellent experience having this team to work with. Every detail was thought through and the villa we stay in (Jun Chalet) was OUTSTANDING. I highly recommend it. Everything went smoothly with Nick and he was there to help in Niseko if we needed the team. Will be back for sure!

We have recently returned from a fantastic trip to Japan which included two ski resorts and stays in both Tokyo and Kyoto. We can’t thank Nick and Different Snow enough for the faultless organisation and the extremely useful, detailed information provided for all stages of our trip.

His organisation an attention to detail is excellent and I would recommend Different Snow without hesitation, Japan is a bit 'tricky' to navigate, but Nick makes it easy for you.
