Clear on the first page?
If it was clear, it would say 45 POUNDS to unlock your phone.
No, better to pretend it's 15 and make 15 for nothing and then whack in the 2nd cost to actually unlock the phone?

Hi — Charlotte here. Sorry you’re upset.

We show prices on the order summary before payment and “All prices and delivery times are as quoted.” As our Terms state, “By clicking Credit/Debit Payment you wish for the order to be commenced immediately,” and purchases will appear on your card as Direct Unlocks.

I can’t check anything without an order reference or IMEI — you haven’t supplied an IMEI, and that’s required to find your order. In the absence of any reference, we cannot address your specific concerns. Please use the Live Support on your tracking page so we can look into this and sort it out quickly. If you prefer, reply here with your order number and IMEI and I’ll investigate.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m sorry you feel that way and I want to help make this right.

To investigate I need your IMEI or order reference — without it we can’t find your order or address your specific concerns. Please reply with the IMEI or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can resolve this.

Please note our Refund Policy states: "Wrong IMEI: No refund if the provided IMEI is incorrect." Once you share the IMEI I’ll check everything and work to sort it quickly.

Scam website - Takes money then demands more

I used DirectUnlocks.com to unlock my Huawei H112-372 5G router locked to Vodafone Qatar. They advertised a one time payment service so I paid $25 upfront. After taking my money they did not send the unlock code. Instead they came back and demanded an additional $54 to complete the service. This is a clear bait and switch scam. They advertise one price, take your money, then ask for double the amount again before doing anything. I refused to pay more and lost my $25 with nothing received in return. I am now reporting them to econsumer.gov and other scam reporting websites. Do not trust this website. Do not pay them anything. They will take your money and demand more. I wish I had checked reviews before using them. Save your money and use a legitimate service instead.

Hi — I’m Charlotte, and I’m sorry this has been so frustrating.

To investigate and fix this for you I need your device IMEI (or your order number). In the absence of any reference we cannot look up your order — please either reply here with the IMEI or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can review your case.

A few things from our terms so you know what to expect: “1.1 The service of sourcing and supplying any unlock solution begins at the point payment has been received…” and “2.1 It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” That said, our Refund Policy does allow refunds in specific cases such as “Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded.”

If you send the IMEI/order number now (or contact Live Support), I’ll escalate this immediately and we’ll work with you to find a fair resolution.

Bait and Switch Scam

First, they make you pay $25 to unlock the phone, which seems reasonable enough so you pay it. But then, after making you wait 30 minutes, they send you an email saying: "We are pleased to inform you that your device is ready to submit for unlocking," and demand another $54! They hold your initial payment hostage to force you into paying more. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay away!

Hi — I’m Charlotte, and I’m really sorry that happened — I’d be frustrated too.

Per our terms: "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order." and "Pre-orders ... are not covered by our money back guarantee." That can make it look like a separate second payment is requested when an unlock requires an additional service or upgrade.

I can investigate and get this sorted, but I don’t have your order or IMEI on file. The IMEI is essential to find your order — without it we can’t address your specific concerns. Please either reply with your order number and IMEI or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can resolve this quickly.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry you’re upset and I understand the frustration.

I can see your order placed 26 May 2026: you’ve paid $6.99 (Network Check) and $24.99 (Eligibility Check). Your current status is: Only paid for Eligibility Check — awaiting Unlocking Payment of $54.00. Please initiate that payment via your Tracking page to proceed.

Please note our terms: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." Also, as the site states, "there may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase." If your iPhone needs a Premium Service that will be shown in your status.

If you’d like, I can guide you through the Tracking page to make the $54.00 payment or check why the summary didn’t appear for you. You can also read other customers’ experiences here: https://directunlocks.com/unlock-iphone-13-att#review_section.

This unlock is taking a little longer than normal

My order ID is 359967720107397. I submitted a request to have my Samsung S24 Ultra unlocked on May 9, 2026, and as of May 26, I have still not received a resolution.
When I track the order, the status has shown “Estimated time remaining: Imminent” for several weeks without any updates or completion.
At this point, I am requesting either:
A full refund of my payment, or
Immediate completion of the phone unlock service.
Please provide an update on the status of my request as soon as possible.

Hi — sorry you’ve been waiting. I can confirm your order (ID 359967720107397) for a Galaxy S24 Ultra (AT&T USA) is currently In Process — it’s 99% complete and should be finished imminently.

You paid $24.99 for the Eligibility Check and $106 for the Standard Unlock. Per our terms, “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for,” and delivery times are guidelines: “These delivery times are variable and can decrease as well as increase without notice.” I’ve escalated this to our technicians to push this through now and you’ll be emailed as soon as it’s completed.

If for any reason we cannot complete the unlock, our Refund Policy covers specific failures for Samsung/Remote USB unlocks — we’ll follow that process. Thanks for your patience — Charlotte

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry you feel cheated — I understand how frustrating that is.

To look into this I need your IMEI (we can’t find or escalate an order without it). In the absence of any order reference or IMEI we can’t address your specific concerns — please either reply with your IMEI here or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can resolve it.

Note our Refund Policy says: "Eligible for Refund: Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded." It also warns "Wrong IMEI: No refund if the provided IMEI is incorrect." We’ll work through the technician checks first and escalate as needed once we have your IMEI.

Please send the IMEI or open Live Support and I’ll get this escalated right away.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! This is a SCAM!!
At first you think its 15 pounds to unlock your phone from the network provider.
Next they ask you a further 44 pounds as they need to get your unlock code for the sim, before you pay it says that this will 100% unlock your phone. I go ahead with the next step as I am in real need of my phone, nothing seems to be happening. I message there live support who of course is AI and I immediately request for a refund. The AI keeps suggesting not to ask for a refund yet but to wait, however at this point i've just been conned and I know it. 6 hours later I receieve an email telling me I have received my codes however when I have a look...

Your unlock request was rejected by Spark as the following criteria were not met:

Out of contract.
Not financed.
No outstanding payments.
Does not belong to a prepaid network
We have negotiated a Premium Release Fee from Spark of just £54.00 . Once this is paid the phone will be resubmitted for unlocking automatically.

This service has a 100% success rate. As stated in our Refund Policy, if Premium Service fails for any reason (such as your phone being blacklisted), you will receive a full refund to your card, including the Standard Service payment. No additional payments will be required.

YET AGAIN asking for more money for the next step.
PLEASE BE AWARE. I checked the reviews on trustpilot and it seemed mixed, what I got from it was that genuinely people get there phone unblocked and get the use back however that is not the case.

THIS DID NOT WORK. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Hi — I’m really sorry this has been stressful. I can see your order from 24 May 2026: the £42 Standard Unlock payment was refunded to your card and you were issued a credit note; the £14.99 Eligibility Check is non‑refundable.

Spark rejected the standard unlock because your A5x didn’t meet their criteria (out of contract/financed/outstanding/prepaid) and asked for a carrier Premium Release Fee. As our Terms say, “'Pre-orders' also referred to as 'Eligibility Checks' are not covered by our money back guarantee.” Also, our Refund Policy confirms: “Premium Service Failures: If the service fails for any reason, you'll be refunded along with any Standard Service payments you have made. Premium Services are only relevant to iPhones.”

If you’d like to proceed, we can submit the Premium Release (the negotiated £54 fee) and resubmit to Spark for you — if that fails you’d be refunded as above. Or you can use your credit note on another service. Tell me which you prefer and I’ll get it moving. — Charlotte

We can’t look up your order without the IMEI or order reference — please send your IMEI or use the Live Support on your tracking page so we can investigate. In the meantime, please note our Refund Policy does set out specific eligible refund cases (for example: "Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded.") and also lists non‑eligible situations (for example wrong IMEI or already unlocked phones).

Send your IMEI or contact Live Support and I’ll personally chase this up right away. — Charlotte

Simple unlock experience

I was really happy with how easy the unlock process was with Directunlocks.com

I was able to use a web browser on my phone and pay via Apple Pay. Which is so much easier than other services I used in the past.

Hi — I’m sorry the pricing felt misleading. A couple of points from our terms that explain why extra charges can appear:

- “’Pre-orders’ also referred to as ‘Eligibility Checks’ are not covered by our money back guarantee… If you decide not to proceed with the unlocking payment, we cannot refund the cost of the Eligibility Checks, as we have already performed the service.” (T&C 7.3)
- “An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code… you will instead have to use a Remote USB unlock at additional cost.” (T&C 7.4)
- “If your phone requires an upgrade (e.g., from Standard to Premium Service), any initial payments are non-refundable.” (Refund Policy / Not Eligible)

To look into your specific case and explain exactly why you were asked to pay more, I need your IMEI — without it I can’t find your order. Please reply with the IMEI or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can resolve this quickly.

Thanks, Charlotte

Hi — sorry for the confusion, I understand how that looks.

Your $24.99 payment was for an Eligibility Check only. As our terms explain, "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable" and "there may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase." Since your order status is "Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of $54.00," the remaining $54 is the unlock fee to complete the job.

Please initiate that payment via your Tracking page. You also have a credit note that can be used at checkout ("Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service" — T&C). If you want, I can guide you through the Tracking page — just tell me and I’ll help.

READ EVERYTHING & CHECK B4 PAYING

You'd better READ EVERYTHING & DO EVERYTHING carefully! They have an initial charge just to see if your phone is capable of being unlocked. I thought it was the cost to unlock the phone. eMail from them says it can be unlocked for addtl $70 and cant get $30 back (strongarm incentivizing tactic). I paid to have it unlocked only to find that it couldnt -- I must not have seen or paid attn to it saying to put a sim in to see if it asks for an unlocking code (why wasnt this step 1 ???). Of course mine doesnt so no refund. Only reason I gave 2 stars was they gave a credit note and progressing through their hoops didnt seem nearly as bad as my actual results were (costly + time consuming by trying to unlock it 10 times before seeking assistance)

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this has been so frustrating.

A couple of important points from our terms that explain what happened:
- "‘Pre-orders’ also referred to as ‘Eligibility Checks’ are not covered by our money back guarantee." (Terms 7.3)
- "An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code when an incompatible sim card is placed in the device." (Terms 7.4)
- "Android phones which don't ask for a code, will be refunded in the form of a Credit Note... to be used against a Remote USB unlock, if that service is available." (Terms 7.6 / 7.10)

You didn’t include your IMEI, and without that we can’t find your order or review what happened. Please either reply with your IMEI here or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can pull up your order, confirm the credit note, and check whether a Remote USB unlock is available to finish this for you. Again, sorry for the hassle — I want to help get this sorted.
