Scam
Scam!
I was trying to unlock my phone so that I can use local service for an upcoming trip. Direct Unlocks charged me $24.99 only to tell me that my phone is locked with T-mobile which I already knew.
Then, they sent an email that I will need to pay $68 more!
As soon as I submitted my order, they posted on their website that I unlocked my phone from T-Mobile and that includes my name too, but the phone not unlocked.
I should have checked the Trust Pilot reviews first

Intentionally deceptive
Intentionally deceptive. This is a 2 purchase process! £14.99 turns into £44.99!
Their homepage lists a 3 step process:
1 enter your details
2 we process your unlock
3 your phone is ready.
Why does it not say that this is a 2 purchase process?
On the homepage your country is pre selected, you select the current network provider, and you are asked to put in your IMEI number, and click the “Unlock for any carrier”.
The order summary page will say “Unlock for [your device]” in bold, and then below in not bold it says (Eligibility check).
There is a block of text explaining the additional purchase that is required to unlock the phone. Unfortunately in today’s busy world with endless amounts of small text, websites like this hope enough people bypass this section, and rely on that you think you are buying an “Unlock for [your device]” and not an eligibility check.
The Direct Unlocks website is intentionally designed to mislead, while providing enough information to cover themselves.
Once I completed the initial purchase for £14.99, the checks are done and I’m asked to make another purchase for £30.00 to unlock the device.
I did not go ahead with the additional £30.00 purchase.
Then you receive 3 emails, including one “how our purchase process works” detailing info such as:
- this is a 2-stage payment process
- this was made clear to you
- this process is designed to protect you from paying the full amount and your device not being eligible
- you agreed to the terms and conditions
- this purchase was not covered by our money back guarantee
I have never received such a defensive email when completing a purchase. It’s almost like they anticipate people complaining. I wonder why?
Also, when I click “leave a review” on their own website, the page fails to load. How convenient.
I’ve learned my lesson to do my due diligence with future online purchases, but I hope this review will assist others doing theirs.
I would rather take this phone to a phone shop, and pay £50 than to give the additional £30 to Direct Unlocks. I don’t support shady and deceptive business practices. AVOID.

Money money and the money again....
They asked money for a check, then other money to proceed to unblock the device and then again, other money (a lot and we are talking about a stupid modem) after, what they said "a negotiation" with the phone provider. No comment. Stay away from this service.

They are very good scam artists
They are very good scam artists; keep far away from them. They stole my money and wasted my time, all stopped at 99%, and pretended to start over close to a month. I have paid off these devices, and for any reason do not work in Venezuela.. so Directs unlock are keeping your money

Got my phone unlocked
I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience with DirectUnlocks.
I paid for an unlock service for my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (AT&T USA), $24 for verification and then $106 for the unlock. I was told my code was ready after their verification. But I had to wait 2 weeks. but the service failed to unlock my phone. After that, I was told I needed to pay an additional $70 for another unlock method.
Since the original service did not work, I was proposed a credit-note. However, instead of refunding my money back to my bank account, the company converted the amount into store credit-note and is now encouraging me to use that credit only within their platform.
The problem is simple: I do not have another phone to unlock, and I should not be forced to continue using a service that already failed once.
What makes the experience frustrating is not only the failed service, but also the complicated refund process. A customer whose issue was not resolved should be able to receive a straightforward refund without excessive procedures or pressure to reuse internal credit.
I believe companies should prioritize customer trust and satisfaction instead of trapping users into store-credit systems after unsuccessful services.
I hope this review helps other customers make an informed decision.

This process was amazing
This process was amazing. I was referred by a family member to go through Direct unlock and within 10 minutes of me paying the $68 my phone was unlocked and had no sim restriction in the setting category. Thank you direct unlock.
Do not use direct unlocks
Do not use direct unlocks. Scam and will ghost you and take your money without doing wat they say they will

Very much so satisfied with the service
The experience with unlocking my Samsung Note was amazing it did not take long at all and have no problem when the car was sent just in a matter of time I will definitely recommend this app and definitely will use it again
services are not working
I paid $24.99 for an Eligibility Check, which, according to your Terms (Section 7.3), should inform the customer of the actual unlocking cost. The system failed: it didn't warn me that my device required the Premium Service due to its condition and instead induced me to pay $54.00 for a Standard Service that was never going to work, as it didn't display a Premium unlock button at that time.
The "Premium Service" button appeared 48 hours later, proving that the $24.99 eligibility check was neither accurate nor timely. I still haven't unlocked my phone and have only lost my money. I demand that my $54.00 payment be applied to the Premium Service or that I receive a full refund immediately.

Misleading service
I wouldn't even give 1 star. The $25 fee was high enough for the unlock code I thought I was paying for. Because it was after hours to contact Carrier. Then they wanted an additional $69 unlocked fee. Misleading service so be aware. Will not use them again

1000% the worst company to deal with…. First it appears they offer immediate unlocking… rarely is that the case… second, they advertise a price but that’s just to search… then they hit you with another fee…. Then they tell you it’ll be at least a week
Then I got the actual company to unlock the phone and I get an email from this company saying, ‘we unlocked it!’ Liars!!! Then I leave a bad review and I get a message saying they’ll refund me in full if i remove my review. I agree because maybe I’m a one off
Then for almost a month I’m back and forth with customer service saying they’ll refund are working on it and will respond in 24, 12, 6 hours…. Not one promise was kept… they kept trying to pressure me to take a credit which i refused because i think the company is useless and that they were more inclined to deny. Every time they’d say that according to the original setup, they don’t offer refunds… finally I said stop saying that because I’m not making the complaint based on the original agreement, i accept I agreed to that, I’m complaining based on my review and their promise.. they said they’ll refund could forward to the owner and when i accepted, they blocked me!! Is there a zero star
Is there a zero star? My card got charged by directunlocks for an initial service. They will email you with the progress and will charge you again for the unlocking process to be completed. The next day, my bank kept on sending me notifications of unusual activities such as Roblox UK, Guns and whatever UK, etc. I am currently in the US so I didn't understand where these transactions were coming from, only to find out that the charge from directunlocks also used UK service. I had to call my bank to block all those services and requested for a new card. After all those mess, my iphone 14 pro max remains unlocked.

Although I read negative reviews where platforms…
Although I read negative reviews where platforms suggested that this was a “ high risk” entity! Not only were they able to unlock my mother’s (who has dementia) phone in a matter of hours (although they said it would be 18 hours), but the price was very reasonable without any bait and switch pricing! I even got a credit! 😁😁😁

I have unlocked before 1 year a phone with direct unlocks , it worked but it get 8-10days to unlock it . Today I am very impressed it has unlocked within 5minutes .Thank you !

Scam
Scam. Don’t do it. You can do it for free with carrier online. They Lear you into paying $24 to “unlock it” then hit you with an additional $68 to really unlock it. The $24 was an eligibility check.

Directunlocks is a SCAM !!
WARNING: DIRECTUNLOCKS IS A PREDATORY SCAM
Stay as far away from DirectUnlocks as possible unless you enjoy throwing your money into a black hole. They start with a "cheap" price, then hit you with a massive $239 "Premium" fee once they have your first payment. For over a month, they kept me trapped in a loop of "99% complete" and "updates in 2 hours," which were nothing but blatant lies to prevent me from charging back. I was promised resolution dozens of times, only to be met with the exact same copy-pasted script.
When I finally demanded the refund they supposedly "guarantee," they blocked my access to live support, claiming "misuse" simply because I asked for my money back. They are professional thieves who hide behind fake "Eligibility Checks" to steal your initial deposit. They have no intention of unlocking your phone; they only want to drain your wallet and then ghost you. Do not trust "Anna" or their fake technical team—they are bottom-feeding scammers.
Save your sanity and your money: NEVER USE THIS SITE.

I filled out the info to unlock my…
I filled out the info to unlock my mother's phone so she can get calls from the family. She has dementia and was diagnosed with possible stage 4 cancer, and then they tell me the price I paid was to confirm the network the phone was locked to. Why would I do that if it says on the back cover of the phone Consumer Cellular? I bought the phone. I contacted Consumer Cellular. Not only that, but I know the phone's history. Then they say it's nonrefundable and want me to pay 54 dollars to get the codes. I paid 30 dollars to take that for doing the unlock; at least that was the way it was presented on the website. Update: All the unlocks come with a network check, and you can't find it unless you go to frequently asked questions and look under :How can I find out what network/carrier my phone is locked to?
Even though we offer a network checking service,
All of our unlocks come complete with a thorough check as part of the process.
If an incorrect network selection is made, we will automatically adjust this at no additional cost to ensure that your phone is unlocked from the appropriate network. At no additional cost, so if I did a phone unlock, why was I charged 30 dollars for a check? This is how I understand what I just read.
