Faulty Cooker
Faulty Cooker, Failed Collection and No Solution
I very rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been appalling from start to finish.
I had to argue just to have my old cooker collected, then rushed to organise an electrician and have it disconnected and palletised outside, only for the delivery driver to refuse to take it.
To make matters worse, the brand new cooker delivered was faulty. After chasing hard for an engineer, he confirmed the fault and recommended a replacement. It's now a week since it arrived, and I still have no solution, no clarity, no working cooker, and I haven't received one call.
I now have two unusable cookers taking up space: the original one they failed to collect and the faulty new one they delivered.
We have a newborn at home, which was explained to try create urgency, and my family has been left without a working cooker while I chase updates by phone and email.
Faulty appliances can happen. What is unacceptable is the lack of ownership, communication and urgency afterwards.

So I have reached out to the Service Team to obtain the email thread. I can see from both sides where there is frustrations - our Team were genuinely following protocol and I also can understand why you were looking for a quicker solution. As a Mum to a young child myself, I fully appreciate how frustrating this whole thing was for you and while the actual fault of the product doesn't lie with Donaghy Bros - as the distributer and your point of contact, you were obviously within your right to feel annoyed at us.
However I must reiterate that our Service Team did initially act in this situation as they have been advised to do. They are only humans doing their job and following the lead of processes that have worked for us for years. This is partly to do with DB but also mostly to do with how our external suppliers (such as the brand you bought from) do things. We can try and hurry things along, but truthfully the ball is in the court of the brand of the engineer/ created your product.
So while you are obviously disappointed in what happened (and fully within your right to be annoyed at us as your point of contact)... please, please understand that our Team are only doing their jobs in the way they have always done and we want to find the best solution for everyone if there are issues. That is our top priority, honestly.
I have not been privy to any other information regarding this (eg phonecalls or discussions with Management) so if I have missed apologising for anything else you felt fell short in your communication with us, again I can only apologise! Everybody who works at Donaghy Bros is a human, doing a job - we aren't bots (yet!!!) so human error and delays can occur and for that we are truly sorry.

Missed the mark this time
I'm a big fan of Donaghy's, having bought a BBC computer from them in 1982, and have been a sporadic customer since then (I only moved back 10 years ago).
I was looking for 2 x tall fridges at short notice (delivery within a week) and it was a, generally, frustrating experience.
I ordered on the website, received the PayPal notification, but no order confirmation information. I called the following day, and it was explained that there was an internal systems issue - the order was received and everything was in order. We arranged for a Tuesday delivery while on the call.
The week of the delivery, I got a call to say there was an issue with the supplier, and they had not received the supply as expected, and could deliver the following week (which was too late for me), I cancelled the order and was refunded straightaway.
Everyone that I dealt with was very polite and helpful, and it would not deter me from using Donaghy's in the future - although my relaxed viewpoint was helped that I was able to get two other fridges from a different outlet.
