I tried this service a long time ago however it never really worked so I cancelled my subscription with them. Out of nowhere, and probably about 1-2 years later a $63 fee Is charged to my card. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want money to go missing randomly. Also, the positive reviews are most likely fake. If I could give this anything less than a 1 I would!

After I bought tickets for Disney World which I could not use for medical reasons (Covid), I contacted the Disney Travel Company, and although I spent 1800 dollars in tickets for my and my family, and tried to cancel them an get a refund two weeks in advance of our trip, the answer from Disney still was a resounding NO. Thus, it was with high hopes that I paid the services of DoNotPay, filled all required questionnaires, uploaded all pertinent documents and after three days of "We're solving it behind the scenes" the only thing you in fact get is a letter summarizing all the information for you (not them, YOU) to send to Disney. I already did that without their "help", I already wrote to Disney, I already call them and sent all documentation proving my case and the answer was no. Will this letter change anything? absolutely no! The amount you loose for DoNotPay services is not much (36 dollars), but the real sad fact here is that they give you hopes in that they will help you, that they will fight for you, but all they do is just collect all the information that you already have, paste it altogether in a pdf document and send it to you as if this would change anything.

I do not recommend this app! It was not at all useful to me!

Great company. APP has so many features. Customer service is very responsive and respectful.
Very, VERY shady business practices; extremely dishonest and predatory. The 5-star reviews are laughably fake. DoNotPay needs to be shut down and held liable for their blatant consumer fraud!!

Edit:
The sign-up chute is expedited without confirmation or feedback of the account you're creating. So when you sign up and pay $36, make sure to enter the correct email address. I accidently signed up with bad info, and it was unclear what account I was logged in as, and I saw none of the features touted by the app.
I was worried I was getting scammed, so this review was initially negative. Immediately Joyce from customer service replied to my support email and replied below.
There are a couple of neat features I want to test out and it seems like a useful service for only $36 quarterly. Once I have more experience with the app, I'll adjust my rating accordingly.
Feedback:
I think why this app has problems with negative reviews and people think it's a scam is that it's been targeted at people trying not to spend money, so when these people are charged a little bit of money, they get upset.
On top of it, the app promises everything under the sun, so expectations are high. But most of the stuff it does requires the end user to take ownership. It's more of a resource, then some magic app that you pay $36/quarterly and it solves all of your money woes without you having to do anything.
I'm in a different boat. I'm using the app more for the privacy tools and other resources. My issue was the sign up/in chute was "too quick" without confirmations. Of note, the bank charge was from DNP (real scammers are probably using a third party) and the customer service I received from DNP was immediate.

Be careful about downloading the app to your phone. I was charged without my consent. It seems to be a common behaviour - likely T&Cs/small print mention this but its not clear enough. In addition there is an aggressive sales-push in the app to buy their 1 year contract.
Having additionally researched and viewed other comments I have seen that a majority of people are flagging this app as a scam. Am in two minds about that.
1.) Its very bad to charge users if its not clear to them you are doing so.
2.) If you intend to use the service maybe its ok.
Just be very careful.
EDIT: I appreciate this is referencing the website. However the first page/splash screen heavily advertises the phone app so I think its still applicable to make this review

Quick and effective response from the support team! I had a problem with their product and could use it, but they sent a refund under 12 hours. Would go back if I need it again in the future.
Read the reviews before you download. Almost got trapped

I put my inquiry with this one regarding a legal matter that is in Canada, & I specifically inquired if the link that you guys have on the website to “contact the government official” is it only for people residing in the U.S only?! I need to contact the CDN government as they were sued recently & they are obstructing justice in a case that effects me directly! I received a reply from someone named Joyce and she had said “just go on the website and click customer service, and we can rely your message to the CDN Officials!” So I went on their website and their website would not read my card for some mysterious reason. I emailed the company and the reply that I received was that “the card has to be valid” to which I corresponded back and let these people know “of course it is valid!” Right after I received another email stating “oh currently we are US based & we haven’t expanded our services in Canada yet so I won’t be able to forward your message to them” So in my email to this on I typed that “that’s not what your said earlier?!“ Then someone with the initial of Joyce stated “oh I can forward your message to the CDN Government, just pay for our subscription!”
My card is accepted almost worldwide especially in China, but somehow their website that is being run from the States kept giving me errors!

If DoNotPay was genuinely interested in helping people they would be transparent about their pricing on their website. Let me know if you can find the cost published on the site without signing up first.
This should tell us where DoNotPay's priorities are, what other services don't clearly list their fees?
Finally read the reviews here. Many people were misled or did not get what they needed from the app.
I would be more impressed if the app was free or had a one-time charge, and we paid if the app can actually help in a given situation. Not every app needs to be subscription-based. The breadth of capabilities sounds great on paper but how many people need to use every feature? How often are users getting parking tickets or needing refunds on cancelled flights? At > $100/year, the value proposition isn't there for most users.

All of their good reviews are fake. Just check the account age of the reviewers, the way they type etc
How nice how they all also live in the US

The fact that this scam has so many 1 star review shows that TrustPilot can easily be gamed.

I have been trying to stop my service with this company and so far, it has been impossible to do so.
I emailed once, about a month ago and was told they would cancel. I asked for a confirmation email and never received one.
Lo and behold, I was just charged again.
Horrible company!

This is a fraudulent company! It’s confirmed by the BBB to be a dangerous scam. They send your full information to random inmates while harvesting money from your bank. If you gave them information, immediately candle your credit card and contact a lawyer. This “company” puts your life in danger!!
