Brilliant !

My water filter system arrived within a few days of ordering which was a great start . It was simple to assemble with clear instructions and while the first couple of water filtrations to prepare the ceramic filters took hours to complete it now filters through quickly . I’m in a rhythm of filling it last thing at night so I have a full container the following morning. The water is clear and tastes pure . Delighted !

MADE IN BRITAIN ? NO IN CHINA

when a website carries a Made in Britain emblem which encouraged me to choose their system, I ordered the filter system and to have all in stainless steel of safe trustworthy quality I added their tap which arrived first in a box marked MADE IN CHINA but the price was twice as expensive as other similar taps made in China. Nothing against China only I chose MADE IN BRITAIN like the site advertises. Very annoyed at this deception so have cancelled the whole order and am returning the tap. I left a message by phone, no come back so far. . . photos to prove my complaint if required. No trust now so they can keep their filter system too;

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment and appreciate the opportunity to provide some clarification.

The ceramic filters supplied with our systems are manufactured at our factory in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

Some other components, including certain accessories, are sourced globally from carefully selected manufacturing partners. While the tap you received is marked as being manufactured in China, we can assure you that all parts used within our products are chosen specifically for their suitability, quality, and material safety.

All systems and components undergo rigorous quality control inspections and routine laboratory testing to ensure they meet our high standards. We also hold WRAS certification in the UK and NSF certifications in the USA, providing independent verification of the safety and performance of our products.

We are sorry that our sourcing of certain components did not meet your expectations and regret that this has affected your confidence in our products. We always value customer feedback and will take your comments into consideration.

Helpful clarification of issues by…

Helpful clarification of issues by telephone prior to purchase.
I wanted a certified product.
Purchase via the Doulton website was straightforward and delivery was quick.
The filter was easy to set up and I think the steel unit looks good. I had to reduce the water pressure to the unit but this was also straight forward. The flow rate is not fast but my research suggests it's compatible with other filters of this type. Flow rate via the tap remains normal.
There was a very clear improvement in the taste of the water after filtration.
Very pleased so far.

Good filtering system

Pros -
1. Water taste is good.
2. Pleased with the patient and courteous customer service. I asked a number of questions going back several times to customer services and found them very helpful.
2. I like the fact that there is no plastic in the system (except for the tap which can be replaced with a more robust stainless steel one). This is the main reason I decided on this filtering system.
3. Besides the initial priming of the ultra sterasyl filters which does take a while the rate of filtration is very acceptable. I also would not want a filter which filters too quickly as I think it is less likely to filter efficiently.
4. Prompt free delivery.
5. British made.

Cons.
1. I felt the price of the system was a little high and mentioned this to customer services and I felt the better quality stainless steel tap should be cheaper and included in the price.

Overall, I would recommend this filtering system. I have only tried the ultra sterasyl filters and so can't comment on any of the other filters.

Definitely recommend. The reason I have not given 5 stars is…

The reason I have not given 5 stars is because the 6 litre filter comes with a plastic tap, I ordered the separate stainless tap at an extra cost and put the plastic tap in the recycling bin. Ideally I think it should come with a stainless tap as standard, as having a plastic tap defeats the object of filtering any micro-plastics and we all need less plastic in our lives. Initially the ceramic filters need 'conditioning', which entails first cycle of water, which takes about 12hours plus, that first cycle of water I used on plants instead of throwing away. After this initial cycle it filters more quickly.
Apart from that, I love the fact that it does not need plumbing or electrics, was easy to set up and it looks stylish in the kitchen without taking up much space. The key reason I would recommend this product is that Doulton British Berkefeld filters are proven to be effective, distinguished by their rigorous third-party testing and NSF certifications that verify their contaminant reduction claims. Unlike many competitors in the gravity filtration market, these systems have undergone extensive data-driven analysis, including testing to twice their marketed lifespan (e.g., 800 gallons for a 400-gallon rated filter) to ensure reliability and safety.

Thank you so much for your review, and we appreciate the honest feedback. We can assure you that our test data shows no microplastics are leached into the water through the tap, and the quality of the filtered water is maintained; however, we do understand your concerns. Thank you so much again for trusting us with your drinking water.
