I had written a favorable review based on my previous experience but must now write that I would not recommend this service. Previously, I had rented a car with a standard US driver´s license, but this time when I went to pick up the car I was told they would not let me rent it because I did not have an EU driver´s license or an international one. I was also informed that I would not receive a refund of the significant amount I had paid for what was to have been a 16 day rental. I was told that I was informed AT EVERY STEP of my rental process that I should have known this policy. As it turns out, not all rental companies have this EU/international driver´s license requirement (actually, RecordGo where I rent from often does not). I think DoYouSpain.com should make this possibility more clear on their site. From the check-in counter person that handled my case it was more than evident that he ran into this situation on many occasions. He said I could try to secure an international driver´s license on-line, but that for the moment there was nothing that would return my money. So, renter beware!

I was surpassed to see a far higher deposit after I have selected 500 RON. In the contract came with 1400 euro. So, I'm forced to cancel this reservation and to book it from other company. Your data on filters are not reflecting the reality.

Booked through DoYouSpain with Wiber in Alicante and had a very disappointing experience. At pickup, I was told I needed a €1700 deposit. My fully functional credit card (with a generous limit) was repeatedly “rejected” for the deposit without any explanation — yet the exact same card worked immediately for the extra insurance they pushed and for the €100 fuel deposit hold. It felt extremely misleading and left me with no real choice but to pay for an expensive insurance upgrade just to get the car. In the end, I paid more than double the original rental price. Neither Wiber nor DoYouSpain provided a satisfactory explanation afterward. Expect hidden costs and pressure tactics if you deal with these companies.
UPDATE: Thanks for the reply, Claudia. However, the payment method I used fully complied with the conditions stated in the rental agreement and fine print, and my bank has confirmed there was no issue with the card, available credit, or authorization attempt.
At the rental desk, the terminal only displayed a vague, general error without any concrete explanation. What makes this especially concerning is that the exact same card was accepted immediately afterward to pay both the additional insurance and the fuel deposit hold.
From a customer perspective, this creates the strong impression that the deposit process was either improperly handled or structured in a way that left me with no realistic alternative but to purchase extra insurance in order to proceed with the rental. That is precisely why I still feel misled and why your response has not adequately addressed the core issue.

I have used do you spain several times over the years with no issues.
On my current rental my experience is horrendous I have hired car and took out top level insurance via do you spain. On arrival at ok mobility partner hire company the staff were outrageous. I advised I had top level insurance with YDS they said it wasn't valid and tried to pressure me heavily in another insurance at £350 and then said I must buy roadside assistance at £65 I declined and they refused to check condition of hire car and said I would have to check myself with no way of reporting any issues.when I asked for location of vehicle a very rude staff member just said out there !! Over 500 plus cars in car park. Very unprofessional I will never use again If a member of YDS reads this please contact me.

Simple format, lots of choice, lots of information - including the small print and missing (or at least identifying) all the deception one normally encounters at car rental outlets.
