They sold me an inclusive policy with full insurance, then the day before collection cancelled the insurance for no valid reason, telling me that I had to take insurance out direct with the car rental office at 32 euros per day, and also I could get no refund on the hire cost of the car. Its an absolute scam and I would recommend that you STAY WELL AWAY FROM WHAT IS A COMPLETE SCAM

I booked a car through DoYouSpain specifically because their website allowed me to filter offers accepting “debit card only”. I do not own a credit card, so this condition was essential for me.
During the booking process, I was also encouraged to purchase the “Platinum Excess Insurance”, advertised as:
“Full coverage, no need for any additional insurance.”
Based on this information, I expected transparent pricing and a stress-free rental experience.
Reality was completely different.
When I arrived at the Goldcar desk, I was informed that because I did not have a credit card, I had to pay an additional ~370 EUR for insurance. This was despite already paying for the supposedly “full coverage” Platinum package.
What is even more concerning is that the voucher stated that any potential supplier surcharge would amount to approximately 111.40 PLN per day (around 556 PLN total). Instead, I was forced to pay approximately 1564 PLN.
The additional insurance cost ended up being more than THREE TIMES the value of the original rental itself.
After a long journey, in a foreign country, customers are placed under enormous pressure and effectively left with no real choice but to pay unexpected charges.

Avoid DoYouSpain – Complicit in rental scams
Booked a car with K10 through DoYouSpain for Mallorca Airport. The voucher vaguely mentioned that debit cards were accepted “if you subscribe to the supplier’s insurance”. What they conveniently forgot to mention is that this “insurance” costs a shocking €252 (hidden mandatory fee).
At the K10 counter we were put under heavy pressure: pay the €252 immediately or lose the car, while they reminded us other customers were waiting. Classic trap.
On top of that, K10 falsified the fuel gauge (3 bars instead of the real 2 – I have timestamped photos as proof).
What makes DoYouSpain especially guilty is that they knowingly host and promote predatory rental companies like K10. They are fully aware of these widespread scam tactics (hidden fees, pressure at the counter, falsified documents) but continue to partner with them without clear warnings. They are not neutral intermediaries — they are complicit.
This is not just bad service. It’s an organized system to extract money from tourists.
I strongly advise everyone to avoid DoYouSpain completely. They enable these dishonest rental companies. Look elsewhere if you don’t want to get ripped off.

Should be zero stars….This agency is a waste of time and money….
The old scam of confirming a low price at the portal then adding costs when you go to pick up the car….
The initial rental cost was listed at €42
The premium insurance with ‘total cover’ and ‘zero liability’ made it €82…. Well done, you’ve completed you’re booking…but you haven’t
On Arrival at the rental place which is off site, not on the airport…
€35 fuel handling charge plus €125 fuel deposit because you’ve failed to elect ‘full to full’….
And additional €180 for insurance with a €200 deposit…unless you want to leave a €1200 deposit
Honestly I thought this sort of rubbish was got rid of years ago…I’ve cancelled and been charged a €42.50 cancellation fee….ive effectively paid €42.50 to have an hour and a half of my time wasted by these useless scammers….save yourself the hassle, book direct

I would strongly advise anyone booking through DoYouSpain to be extremely careful, especially if you do not own a credit card.
I specifically filtered offers on their website to show rentals accepting “debit card only”. During the booking process I was also encouraged to purchase their “Platinum Excess Insurance”, clearly advertised as “full coverage, no need for any additional insurance”.
However, upon arrival at the Goldcar desk, I was suddenly informed that because I did not have a credit card, I had to pay an additional ~370 EUR for insurance - despite already paying for the supposedly “full coverage” package.
What makes this worse is that the voucher mentioned a possible supplier surcharge much lower than what I was actually forced to pay on site.
After a long journey, being placed under pressure in a foreign country and told you must suddenly pay an amount exceeding several times the original rental price is not acceptable.
In my opinion, the way these offers and insurance options are presented is misleading and lacks transparency. The “stress-free full coverage” promise turned out to be very far from reality.
Very disappointing experience and definitely not the transparent customer experience I expected.
EDIT (in response to DoYouSpain’s reply):
Before posting this review, I had already contacted customer service directly and received a generic response that did not address the concerns I raised regarding the misleading booking conditions and unfair practices I experienced.
That is why I find this public reply difficult to understand. It appears helpful on the surface, but unfortunately it does not refer to the actual issue described in my review nor to the earlier correspondence.
What I expected was a genuine attempt to address the problem, not another template response repeating information that had already proven unclear and misleading during the booking process.

I thought I ordered a ford focus station wagon, but realized it was a combi version minutes after ordering. Then I tried to contact the company to get it right, but it was just automatic answers and no understanding. I still hope they will modify the order, so I don’t need to order two cars.

Booked a 9 day car rental via Doyouspain, however upon arrival at Goldcar Malaga Airport offices, Goldcar refused to hire me the car I had already paid for purely because I declined an extra £200+ optional waiver insurance on the pretext that I was not insured (this is untrue). Goldcar instructed I contact Doyouspain so I called the tel number on the Car Rental Voucher but there was no answer (after 5pm). Me & my wife were left stranded at an unfamiliar airport with no recourse. I am battling 2 types of cancer, medically advised to avoid stress and easily fatigued but Goldcar did not care - profit before customer care.
Submitted a customer support request online after paying for a taxi to accommodation and received an automated response saying “they would get back to me shortly”. Since then I have emailed several times asking for assistance & that they call me to discuss as it is easier to explain. No call but receive an email at close of each business day by different agents (Barbara Analia, Irene Hanson, Daiana) and it is clear they have not read my comments but issue a standard scripted response which does not accurately represent my situation.
Doyouspain stance is that I am not eligible for a refund because I signed a contract with Goldcar which I did not do & I have asked them to obtain evidence of my signature on a contract which they won’t have plus despite Goldcar acting in a brutal & irresponsible manner (all pressure selling & commission based). Then DoYouSpain said I was not eligible for a refund as I had collected the car, which again is untrue as Goldcar refused to rent me the booked car….they continued with this same response with every email despite me informing them several times I did NOT hire the car as I was denied it!! Doyouspain are not interested in assisting me even though as their customer, I have a legally binding contract with them and they have a duty of care. They are more concerned in not upsetting Goldcar, ensuring they retain commissions on their bookings and avoiding their commitment rather than refunding me my payment for a service I didn’t receive. DoyouSpain also had no compassion in assisting or supporting me even knowing my medical conditions.
I hope this review helps other people avoid the same situation occurring and raise awareness that Doyouspain customer service is very poor - fingers you don’t need their assistance. I suggest using a more responsible supplier.
DoYouSpain have a website that is easy to book car rental and offer competitive offers but please be aware that this price will be greatly increased when you arrive at Goldcar plus if Goldcar try to overcharge you or refuse you the car rental DoYouSpain will NOT help at all.

Awful experience. Extremely disappointing experience with DoYouSpain. The customer service staff were completely dismissive, rude, and showed no genuine concern for their customers or the stress caused by the situation. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, they repeatedly hid behind “policies” and blamed the customer, despite the fact that we wasted over 3 hours of our vacation dealing with problems related to the booking and faulty rental cars.
Ironically, Europcar staff were far more helpful and professional, and they managed to modify my reservation directly for me twice, while DoYouSpain made no real effort to assist at all.
When customers are travelling and dealing with stressful situations, the least they expect is empathy and proper support. Unfortunately, DoYouSpain completely failed in this regard. I would never book through them again.
