I rented a car from DRent at Sofia (Terminal 2)
I rented a car from DRent at Sofia Airport (Terminal 2).
The rental itself was completed, and the vehicle was returned on time and without issues.
However, the 800 EUR security deposit has not been returned.
The company claims there were “penalties” but refuses to provide any official documentation (no invoices, no fine notices, no photos, no written explanation).
Additionally, their official email addresses do not accept incoming messages, making written communication impossible.
As of today, the deposit remains withheld with no legal justification provided.
This matter is now being escalated to the bank and consumer protection authorities.
I strongly recommend being very cautious and documenting everything if you decide to rent from this company.
