Honest John erased. Appalling interface. No classic car reviews. No longterm tests. No reliability data. Shameless promotion of Volkswagen group. Who designed this utter rubbish. Gott Im Himmel.

About Drive

Written by the company

A better way to get moving

Drive is the new name for heycar. We’re building on the excellent customer reputation heycar earned, with the same commitment to making it easier and more reassuring to find your next vehicle.

Getting on the road looks different for everyone.

Some people want to buy a used car outright. Others prefer leasing because it suits how their life works right now. What's right for one person won't be right for the next, and that's fine. Circumstances change, priorities shift.

The hard part is usually making sense of all the options out there. That's what Drive is for. Drive is a digital marketplace that brings different ways of getting on the road into one place. You can explore a wide range of Volkswagen Group vehicles and funding options, see what's available, compare what actually matters to you, and make a decision that feels right.

With Drive you can:

  • Browse thousands of approved used vehicles from Volkswagen Group and other authorised retailers.

  • Explore new leasing offers alongside used cars.

  • Compare buying, leasing and finance options to understand what best fits your budget.

  • Read expert reviews, buying guides and helpful advice to support your decision.

  • Move forward with confidence, knowing every vehicle is warranty-backed and supplied through approved retailers.

Finding your next car should feel exciting, not exhausting. That's why we've built something simple and easy to navigate, designed around how real people actually go about this. No pressure. No unnecessary complexity. Just the support you need to move with confidence.

Confidence backed by expertise

Trust matters when you're making a decision like this.

Drive is brought to the UK exclusively by Volkswagen Financial Services, working hand in hand with Volkswagen Group's approved retailer network. Together that's decades of experience helping people get on the road - and a network that knows the Volkswagen Group brands inside out.

It means every vehicle comes from a source that understands these cars, with finance options provided through Volkswagen Financial Services - bringing consistency, transparency and confidence to the whole experience.

Behind the simplicity of Drive is a strong foundation of expertise: warranty-backed vehicles, approved retailers and expert reviews and guides written by people who know these cars, there to guide your decisions from first search through to ownership.

Selected a car and paid the deposit

Selected a car and paid the deposit. After paying the deposit Heycar imposed a number of obstructions. It is clear that this company did not want to supply the vehicle because the transport distance from dealership to me was too far and not viable.

Members of the public should be aware of these tactics.
I would advise people to buy direct from the dealer who has the car for sale and bypass this organisation. I went direct to the dealer and received excellent customer service.

Used car experience

The sales executive looked at my enquiry very efficiently. No pressure was applied to secure the deal l was looking for.
The car was ready at the time arranged full of fuel and battery fully charged. Excellent service.

3 stars because the car itself is…

3 stars because the car itself is lovely, as described and a good price point.

Unfortunately, the process was extremely drawn out and trying to get in touch with anyone regarding an update was almost impossible. Numerous calls and emails went unanswered. The date I was told I would receive my vehicle came and went without any contact from HeyCar. I felt I was left to do all the leg work, asking for updates and estimate delivery dates without any straight answer. I was passed to numerous different members of staff (who were all very polite and apologetic) with nobody appearing to take responsibility or be willing to provide an explanation.

A really shame as the vehicle is lovely, but I would not return or recommend HeyCar if you want your car anytime soon.

Scammers - Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service - 9 (7) working days after reserving the car I get a email saying they have arranged to pay the dealer but that will take another 3 working days - no idea when the car will be scheduled for delivery - a shambles of a scam by complete incompetents - they are scammers keeping your money for as long as possible to try to make interest on your money (millions) - save time effort and stress by going direct to the dealer

A smooth experience

I purchased a car via the HeyCar app. The process was simple, I was put in direct contact with the dealer that was selling and all went through with no problems. The dealer was great and the purchasing journey straightforward.

Like many people I was a bit skeptical…

Like many people I was a bit skeptical about buying a car without having a physical inspection and a test drive. The particular car that I bought was over 200 miles away so free delivery was very attractive. I dealt with Henor who explained the procedure and was then passed over to Liz who handled the delivery details. The car was driven to me by a very polite, helpful and interesting driver who handled the neccesary details and paperwork. On the day he phoned me a couple of times to let me know his progress on the journey.
All in all, the process was very easy and quite quick. The car is as good as I hoped for and I have been very satisfied with the experience.

Great until they had my money

Great until they had my money then disappeared without a trace for 10 days. Phoned me on day 11 to say there was paint scuffing on the boot due to loading and unlading heavy items. Said it would be two weeks to repair or I could have £300 off if I accepted as it was. After being sent photos and them upping their offer to £500 I accepted. Upon delivery there was additional damage to the wheel arch and a much larger and deeper paint scratch which they hadn't mentioned. This was consistent with a collision - it looks like someone had reversed the car into something solid. It was impossible to speak to customer services as no-one answered the phone and despite leaving messages no-one got back in touch. Eventually 5 days after the car was delivered someone replied to an email. Several emails later they have offered a paltry £150 further off the car. Will go back to using CINCH as they were completely transparent with detailed photos of even minor blemishes and they actually answered the phone.
EDIT: They eventually offered a further £150 which I've accepted. However, there is no sign of the cashback offered when I bought the car (£700). According to their terms and conditions this is supposed to be offered after 14 days and we're now on day 26.
