Honest John erased. Appalling interface. No classic car reviews. No longterm tests. No reliability data. Shameless promotion of Volkswagen group. Who designed this utter rubbish. Gott Im Himmel.

About Drive

Written by the company

A better way to get moving

Drive is the new name for heycar. We’re building on the excellent customer reputation heycar earned, with the same commitment to making it easier and more reassuring to find your next vehicle.

Getting on the road looks different for everyone.

Some people want to buy a used car outright. Others prefer leasing because it suits how their life works right now. What's right for one person won't be right for the next, and that's fine. Circumstances change, priorities shift.

The hard part is usually making sense of all the options out there. That's what Drive is for. Drive is a digital marketplace that brings different ways of getting on the road into one place. You can explore a wide range of Volkswagen Group vehicles and funding options, see what's available, compare what actually matters to you, and make a decision that feels right.

With Drive you can:

  • Browse thousands of approved used vehicles from Volkswagen Group and other authorised retailers.

  • Explore new leasing offers alongside used cars.

  • Compare buying, leasing and finance options to understand what best fits your budget.

  • Read expert reviews, buying guides and helpful advice to support your decision.

  • Move forward with confidence, knowing every vehicle is warranty-backed and supplied through approved retailers.

Finding your next car should feel exciting, not exhausting. That's why we've built something simple and easy to navigate, designed around how real people actually go about this. No pressure. No unnecessary complexity. Just the support you need to move with confidence.

Confidence backed by expertise

Trust matters when you're making a decision like this.

Drive is brought to the UK exclusively by Volkswagen Financial Services, working hand in hand with Volkswagen Group's approved retailer network. Together that's decades of experience helping people get on the road - and a network that knows the Volkswagen Group brands inside out.

It means every vehicle comes from a source that understands these cars, with finance options provided through Volkswagen Financial Services - bringing consistency, transparency and confidence to the whole experience.

Behind the simplicity of Drive is a strong foundation of expertise: warranty-backed vehicles, approved retailers and expert reviews and guides written by people who know these cars, there to guide your decisions from first search through to ownership.

Nice and easy does it

Just had a callback from a very helpful member of the team, Karan. We discussed the process and next steps. Nice and easy to deal with just like the website.

No reply from Heycar

Nothing has been replied from Heycar since 1 week after my full payment.

I need my car urgently and the salesman Kenan Boateng disappeared and did not reply my email or give me a phone call.

Please reconsider to purchase cars through Heycar if you are about to do so.

Not a great experience

My experience was disappointing. I was assured that the car would be thoroughly checked before delivery and was told it needed two new rear tires. However, this wasn't addressed before delivery, and I ended up having to arrange the tire replacement myself. The car arrived with two bald rear tires and the service light on.

After I paid the deposit, it was difficult to get in touch with the sales team, and they seemed uninterested in assisting me. On the positive side, the customer support team was excellent. They eventually covered the cost of the two rear tires and agreed to pay for the service.

Hey Car…Process Improvement Required

What started off as a great experience quickly fell apart. I placed a £99 deposit for a vehicle on the website yesterday. Received a welcome call from Henor. Very nice guy, full of knowledge and outlined the process. On the call he told me that the car had sold and suggested another vehicle. I also found that same vehicle. We agreed on a price and he spoke to his manager to confirm. He than moved my deposit over and explained that he would get the order form over to me. However his system would not allow him to send an order form past 6pm, more like he wanted to go home but fair enough. I than called at 9, 915, 930 and continued to call until 11am. Finally he returned my call. Have you monitored your phone calls hey car? Customers constantly ring and the phone goes to voicemail. I spoke to two separate people and each time Henor was on the phone. He must be selling lots of cars to be on the phone for a solid 2 hours. I have emailed as well. Guess what? The car was gone as somebody bought it over night. The customer service and process is severely lacking. If I were you heycar, I would look into your process and look to improve the interaction and buying process. I am not happy at all.

They will avoid you when you pay deposit.

Started off completely fine until they got my deposit and then you don’t hear from them, You have to call them up multiple times just to get an answer or a update on what is happening, Very slow service, even though I was told I would have my car by a certain time they failed to meet this and still avoid your calls and emails. I then got told I could pick up my car soon and then received another email saying the opposite. Do not recommend at all I’ve been waiting ages and still do not have the car. But they have my money.

The dealership staff were very helpful.

The dealership was very nice and they were able to give us the money that we needed to get for our vehicle.
The salesperson was very well mannered and treated us very well, informed us about the vehicle and made us feel like people not just a customer, he took us through all the details Joshua was a credit to the company nothing was to much trouble for him from start to the final day of pick up even taking me to tax the vehicle. Well done to him. Would l recommend him to anyone wishing to buy a vehicle from the company, yes I would.
