I've owned Dubarry sailing boots for some years but used them very little. On a recent trip, both boots suddenly came apart at the sole. It's obvious that the rubber in the sole material is turning to powder and losing its strength. That's clearly a major design/manufacturing defect and the boots are not fit for purpose. I see from the internet that there are many identical reports from others so it's not just me. What are you going to do to rectify the problem, Messrs Dubarry?

I bought a pair of brand new Dubarry Galway boots a number of years ago at a country fair. I thought I was making an investment purchase. The marketing information gave a glowing picture as to the reliability and longevity of the boots. The price point certainly lead me to believe I was purchasing high quality prestigious footwear. But alas this was not the case in my experience.
My boots were carefully worn, well looked after and kept correctly. Over time I was disappointed to find that the sole of one boot had separated from the footbed along half its length and the other boot was cracked along the sole line. The boots were completely unwearable and not repairable by two well regarded local shoe repair companies. I took their collective advice and contacted Dubarry for their comments.
I was completely transparent regarding that this had occurred after the period of manufacturers guarantee.
After contacting Dubarry customer service I was eventually told that “Your boots have suffered from a natural process called hydrolysis which occurs due to the breakdown of the rubber midsole over time”. I was assured that this was not a fault. However, had I known about the possibility of hydrolysis occurring within the footbed I would not have purchased the Galway boots. I was offered a 20% discount off a new pair of boots. It was claimed in the Dubarry email to me “Which can last a lifetime”.
In summary, my purchase of the Galway boots represented very poor value for money and had a high cost per wear. They fell way below the standard of performance I reasonably expected from a Dubarry product and I feel that their durability was not commensurate with marketing or price at the time of purchase.
Unfortunately the offer from customer service did not inspire me to repurchase any further Dubarry product.
My confidence in the Dubarry brand has been reduced to zero.

Owned my Dubarry boots for less than a year, routinely cleaned and leather creamed them using Dubarry branded products and as per care guides, absolutely disgusted that they started leaking in less than a year and when Dubarry were contacted their only response was to blame my care, the fact the leak was not even occurring from the areas that have creased (which is what they wanted to blame it on) was entirely disregarded, they simply want to blame it on me. I have only worn them for dog walks and so not hard wear, the quality is completely inadequate and despite careful care have not held up and customer service entirely unhelpful. Not worth the price, you are not getting a quality product, nor are you getting good customer service. Could not recommend less or be more disappointed. The fact they even state on here that their "motto is “BUY BETTER LAST LONGER”" is beyond ironic.

Amber at Dubarry of Ireland was so professional and extremely helpful with the return and exchange of my Galway boots.
I’d had them a while, still in the box with tags on and after a knee injury couldn’t get the left boot on.
I now need a bigger size to fit injured leg.
She and her colleague Matthew agreed the exchange even though I’d had them a while.
They represented their company very well.

I am blown away by the customer care service at Dubarry. I had an issue with my boots, which Dubarry were brilliant and flawless about, they did everything they can to fix it. They are perfect again. I spoke with a wonderful lady called Amber, she couldn't have been more helpful if she tried. Kind, helpful, patient, generous and impeccable. The best boots ever, and the best customer service I've encountered.

Unfortunately i did need to contact customer services due to a mark on one shoe that came by post.
Have to say at the end of the support process I am left feeling impressed. Particularly, and mainly, with Amber who dealt with my issue from end to end. Amber went out of her way to essentially project manage the exchange of my shoes making sure with their quality department I wouldn't be disappointed. She sourced the product from another branch and had them delivered to be in quick time.
Well done Dubarry and Amber in particular.

I was recently gifted a pair of Men's Briggs - Brown shoes, approximately 7 months ago. I have only worn them a handful of times and have just noticed that the sole is made up of different materials and the adhesive is now disintegrating and one part of the sole is coming away from the main sole. This is probably the third pair from Dubarry's that it has happened to. I am a lifetime customer of Dubarry, but feel that they have neglected their quality and craftmanship in recent years. Shame to see such a mistake from a company that prides itself from being established since 1937.

Purchased Dubarry Galway boots but did not wear for some time as I had another pair ~ I was still using.
After a couple of wears the mid sole disintegrated (hydrolysis). There is no wear on the sole itself so no value in replacing the sole. When called the customer service lady said it was my fault because I had not worn them enough! The local shoe repair shop said the mid sole is defective. Customer services so unhelpful - would definitely NOT recommend to anyone else.

My wife loves her Dubarry boots so much that the sole wore out. I wanted to buy replacement soles as the boots are still superb which isn’t straightforward. I went to the King’s Road branch and Floarea helped me get a pair which required some investigation. She went way above and beyond normal service, was kind and polite. She also chased me up on the phone to collect them which I really appreciated. Thank you again Floarea for keeping a long time customer happy.

I bought my wife a pair of Dubarry boots almost 2 years ago. She says they're incredibly comfy, warm and smart. She wears them regularly. Unfortunately they developed a leak recently. However, the customer service team were exceptional. We'd looked after the boots well and kept them in great condition. On that basis the team asked us to return the boots for inspection. After doing so they were able to see the leaks in both boots and offered a brand new replacement as goodwill gesture. This despite being out of warranty. Thank you

I purchased a pair of mens dubarry boots.Supposedly a premium product at definitely a premium price. The soles on both boots fell apart after minimal use however dubarry say that because the boots are more than 12 months old dubarry are not interested. Surely they should be fit for purpose and not self destruct .Customer services being very difficult.
