I found the US office to have delivered some of the most perfect customer service.... ever....and I am quite the "picky guy"!

Used the BRC authorised repairers to replace the sole unit on my beloved boots. Absolute nightmare.
1st try - sole unit went too high up the sides of the boot, making them too small
2nd try - sole unit was a size smaller than the boot
3rd try- same as first.
They replaced my boots in the end, but that was a problem as Dubarry have changed the shape of the footbed and the Galways now rub like mad.
I'm left with a pair of unwearable boots that I cannot bear to throw out, and had to sell the replacements as they were not comfy.

The boots a bought for my wife started to crack and split across the leather on the uppers of both boots despite following Dubarrys care instructions . They were expensive and i wont be buying another pair or recommending them to anyone else .

Had received very good reviews about these from friends and family. They used to be the go to boot for country pursuits and would long outlast any of their rubber counterparts.
I therefore purchased a pair of Dubarry Wexford Boots along with all the leather and nubuck care products from a local shop. Unfortunately, despite the leather and sole still being as new, similar to other reviews on here the midsole has started to crumble and the sole has come away. Meanwhile, my expensive at half the price different manufacturer rubber boots are still going strong.
Dubarry's approved UK repairer can replace with a new complete sole unit for a charge, and Dubarry of Ireland have approved this style of sole for their boots.
There must be a reason why Dubarry's UK repairer has an approved fix for this problem and is so busy at the moment?

Terrible customer service, Dubarry try to claim that service experienced whilst using their boot repair company is nothing to do with them - yet Dubarry are the ones that took payment for the repair, via the Dubarry website. I bought the sole repair service, unaware that I was sending them to The Boot Repair Company, not Dubarry. Once the company ran over their 6-8 week deadline, they contacted me to tell me they need to charge me £40 more for the sole repair, even though I’d purchased sole repair at £75. By this point they’d had them for two months so I just wanted them back. I declined and had them returned. I then found that Timpsons do Dubarry sole repair at £75 with a 10 day lead time, but sent them in and the cobbler called to say he sees the same issue time and time again, specifically with Dubarrys. The issue is that the leather base of the shoe that the rubber sole is stuck to turns to almost dust so that no sole can be properly restuck to it.
I emailed Dubarry to let them know that their repair partners were letting them down, but had no response from Dubarry.

Absolutely outstanding products and service. I have worn Dubarry shoes (various styles of boating shoes) for over 30 years, and never have I been disappointed.
The Dubarry Ireland site is fantastic! I even had a pair of shoes delivered the day after I played the order.

My husband bought me a pair of Dubarry boots last year and almost immediately the metal emblem fell off. I contacted yourselves and you sent me a link to speak to the company who would repair them, so I contacted them, even though I thought your customer service would have assisted, and they asked for a photograph, which I sent back immediately and now nothing. I've not heard a thing back even though I've sent further emails. Firstly, this is not the best quality of boot if parts are falling off with hardly any wear especially due to the cost of them. Secondly, what sort of service is it when your going from pillar to post with no contact and thirdly after reading previous comments I really hope I'm not expected to pay for the emblem when it should not have fallen off within such a short amount of use.
Would I buy these boots again? No I wouldn't.

What a terrible response from Dubarry to my comment about their boots !
New, means new - it does not matter where I purchased these boots from, they were unused when I got them.
The sad fact is I have wasted over £200.00 on these boots.
Dubarry - it’s about time you woke up to the poor quality of product that you are providing - you must be ignorant beyond words to dismiss all the negative reviews from people who feel they have been ripped off by purchasing a product not fit for purpose !!!
Rubbish expensive boots.
I purchased the Wexford boots as new second hand and today as my partners did, both soles have come apart. I have worn these boots a maximum of 20 times !
They were still expensive second hand and I certainly won’t be buying another pair !
Not fit for purpose !

Used their ‘approved’ boot repair company in the uk. Was informed there may be delays of 6-8 weeks for boots to be returned….. nearly 11 weeks on and numerous apologies from both Dubarry and their approved repairer we are still waiting. No sign of goods being returned and nearly £100 out of pocket. Shocking customer service. Extremely disappointed, would not recommend.

If you had asked me 4 years ago what I thought to Dubarry boots I would have said they were the best in the world. My first pair of Dubarry boots I had for 8 years and they were well worn with the very occasional wax and polish. I bought them from a country show where a chap was standing in a bucket of water with an old pair on and proving their resilience and durability.
Eventually my boots had to be replaced and I spent £400 on a new pair. They lasted 13 months!! When I rang to complain about leaks and cracked leather uppers, I was told the boots were out of warranty and that I had not looked after them well enough.
Stupidly I bought a second pair and the same issues occur. Leaking boots and cracking leather. I polished these boots regularly and still they allow water ingress.
Dubarry boots are perfect for the city or for households who have butlers who polish them daily.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
NOT THE COMPANY THEY USED TO BE!

I also bought Dubarry boots thinking I was getting a high quality boot that I saw at the Hampton Classic Horse Show, a premiere show here in the U.S., a boot that was quite expensive. I took excellent care of these boots and when the sole separated from the boot I was totally shocked when Dubarry told me they could nothing to repair it and offered me a 10% discount on a future purchase. What??!! Boots that have an expiration period? My local shoe repair shop confirmed that any attempt at repair would not last. Shame on you Dubarry for advertising a boot that can withstand all kinds of abuse but not the test of time.

I don’t often rant about anything BUT……
I invested in a £400 pair of Dubarry boots around 4 years ago. I thought I was buying into a good reputable brand - for life. It was a big investment for me but I thought I had done my research. I only ever wore them for dog walking but not on the beach. I live on the coast so purchased a pair of “Lookylikey” boots from ALDI for £40 for my beach walks, my expensive boots were for grassy walks only. I looked after my Dubarry boots, polished them and kept them safe. Not so much the Aldi boots - they were worn far more and ashamedly, slightly neglected as they were less of an investment.
Despite the Dubarry boots description saying:
“GORE-TEX lining ensures Longford boots are waterproof”
THEY LEAK!
On contacting Dubarry, I was told, and I quote:
“There are different reasons why boots develop a leak, a piece of grit or something similar can be accidentally picked up by the wearers socks when changing in our out of boots or fall in during wear. It will not always be obvious that this has occurred and the wearer will not always feel it underfoot. This foreign body may in time work through the inner protective layer and puncture the Gore-Tex lining.
There are different ways that Gore-Tex membrane can get damaged and it depends hugely on the actual wear and care on the boots and possible wear patterns as outlined, light wear or robust wear can have a bearing on the reason why the boots may eventually leak so no two circumstances are the same as no two boots receive the same.”
They offered me a 20% discount on a non sale pair of boots.
Moral of this story?
Buy 10 pairs of the Aldi boots - despite many stones and lack of maintenance, they are still waterproof and the supply will last you a lifetime!
I would be grateful for anyone passing this on as I would hate others to feel cheated, as I do, when they discover that their premium brand boots are not waterproof after all.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IT’S “ACCIDENTAL” DAMAGE? YOU HAVEN”T EVEN LOOKED AT THEM OR ASKED TO SEE THEM. THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF BOOTS - GREAT FOR POSING AROUND TOWN BUT DEFINITELY NOT COUNTRY BOOTS, WHEREAS MY 40.00 ALDI BOOTS HAVE TAKEN EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE THROWN AT THEM AND CONTINUE TO BE WATERPROOF.

Used Boot Repair company service on beloved 12 year old Galway boots as sole beginning to part on left boot. Fabulous service, boots returned wrapped in tissue, conditioned and both boots sporting new welded soles. Good as new! Delighted to have my faithful walking companions back for the inevitable snow up North.

Purchased a pair if Galway boots back in the summer before the price increase. Just started wearing them in the wintery weather, didn't realise how hard they were. I have a blister behind my ankle which I never got from new Timberland or RM Williams boots. Sadly this has spoiled, what I thought would be a quality boot. I will try to carry on wearing them and hopefully they will soften and become more comfortable. Is this normal?

I have received a reply from Dubarry and I thank their response for my older boots which have received very light use. Debarry Galway boots are expensive and just because they are old I would not expect the Sole to keep peeling away. If you buy a Rolls Royce you don't expect the wheels to fall off when they are low mileage and we'll looked after as was clear in the photos sent to Dubarry early in December of my boots. The cobbler in Rye informed me that he is frequently getting Dubarry boots with this problem. I have since asked him to repair
and he was right. It's just peeled the layer on top but he only charged me £5. The Boots are useless yet they look practically new.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I saved for ages to buy a pair of Dubarry Ultima sailing boots. When I got them I was so excited, comfortable, dry and what seemed to be a very good product. After very little use the soles started to come away from the boot. I sent pictures to Dubarry they told
me they could not do anything about it. They advised I go to a Cobbler. When I went to the Cobbler he told me once the soles de-laminate on that boot, there is NO glue that will stick them back and no way to put new soles on. He has had many pairs of that boot and he just tells customers to throw them away. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I WOULD HATE OTHER CUSTOMERS TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. Stay away from this product.

Having bought a pair of Galway Slimfit boots, not direct from Dubarry but from a supplier nearly 3 years ago. Expected them to last a 'lifetime' considering I rarely wore them - other than when tramping in Scottish hills foraging for greenery when decorating for my business. Took the greatest care of them - drying carefully and using Dubbin for protection. Couldn't believe how badly they leaked after about 1.5 yrs. Still in excellent condition, barely worn but simply useless for what I needed them for. Stopped using them unless in totally dry conditions. Wore them again on 3 seperate occasions in pouring rain. Soaking socks each time despite drying boots and leaving before using again.
Convinced myself it was my fault/allowing my jacket or trousers to drip into boots! Until short time ago - put them on, went and stood in a stream for a few minutes and then sat and took boots off. Totally soaking socks. Approached the company I bought from . Was told that the guarantee was only for 1 year! Couldn't be less interested. Took deep breath and approached Dubarry. Could NOT have been more charming and helpful - Donna particualrly. Asked for photographs of boots and I think it was evident that there had been little usage. Said I should have been told what treatment/'magic sauce' to use to keep them in great condition and fully waterproof. Too kind - offered to replace them AND sent me some 'magic sauce'. I've not worn them yet but am excited to do so and believe they have dealt as I would have done with a customer who genuinely could not understand how such an expensive product could fail. I've learned a lesson in after care and will do so henceforth. Thank you Dubarry. Apologies for length but good customer service deserves the full nine yards!

The most appalling customer service I’ve ever experienced! I have been accused of lying, told I have mistreated my boots and given no support whatsoever. I’ve spent a fortune on my boots and then bought all the care products on top of that. The boots still cracked even tho I cared for them as I was told to. I reproofed and cleaned them to ensure they would last which they haven’t. Very rude customer assistant who offered no solution or help to me. I’d never ever buy from Dubarry again or recommend them to anyone. I’m disgusted by the way I was spoken to and the accusations the assistant put my way. Stay clear spend elsewhere!
