The service itself was good and the car was in good condition, and the rental period went smoothly. However, the €400 deposit that was frozen on our debit card was never returned. We contacted the company several times and tried to resolve the issue, but the money has still not been refunded. Very disappointing experience regarding their financial practices.

We have catched a great deal, but first we were a bit skeptical, because some Reviews were negative. Everything went smooth for us and we had an Overall good experience. So we do not understand the Bad Reviews.

Huge scam, please do yourself a favour and don't rent with them. As soon as you arrive at the desk the employee tried to pressure me into purchasing an additional insurance policy, which I refused. She mentioned that any minor damage would cost a lot of money — a veiled threat that I wish to denounce as an unfair practice.

When I returned the car, no additional damage was found but they charged me 443 euros for a made-up scratch...freaking thieves!!!

after reading so many poor reviews I thought I should leave a more positive one! I booked through VIP cars so knew the amount shown was only for the car hire and was expecting to have to pay for 2 car seats when I arrived at the desk - so a £53 rental for 4 days went to £125 - still very good. the guy at the desk explained the insurance - that I didn't have any insurance so he recommended I buy theirs. I informed him I had my own policy and he was quick to ask if it was through the broker. When I informed him it wasn't and id done it myself independently because I hire several cars a year, he was happy with it and didn't try the hard sell. so id recommend doing excess cover through a company separate to the car hire booking.
picking up the car was quick enough - they go round it with you and you both need to point out all the damages - our car was pretty beat up and I took around 30 pictures of every angle - which proved valuable on my return when they used the bit of paper in the office to show them the damages and one spot was not marked, they were obviously going to charge me for it but I showed the images and it was all ok.
so if you book through these, protect yourself - make sure you have a credit card in the same name as the main driver - they hold 1000 euros which was then released a day after returning the car.
make sure you take lots of pictures of the car before driving away and make sure you get a decent excess cover, purchased away from the car broker.

Easy car hire in Sicily. Picking up the car was quick and simple with helpful people at the desk. The return procedure was efficient also.

Tragic company scams people with extra payments and does not take virtual card

customer service was excellent and straight forward, no overselling of insurances and related products, (although I would recommend having excess cover, italian drivers are little bit non plussed about overtaking and obeying the highway code) actually received the car I ordered

I was given no option regarding insurance, it was simply forced. Shortly after, the car had a flat tire and constant alarms. I had to pay out of pocket to fix these issues and wasted an entire day of my holiday just finding a tire repair shop. To make matters worse, they still charged me extra for a scratch that occurred during the tire repair. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional — the worst rental company I’ve had i seriously suggest you to pay a little bit more but avoid those scammers

The car itself was comfortable and good value. However, it was really stressful collecting the car as we were put under a lot of pressure to buy additional insurance even though we had palready paid for the higher level of insurance with AutoEurope. From what we have read recently, this seems to be a scam.

Leave well alone - plenty of other car hire companies to rent from. They are only after your money and the staff are rude and unhelpful.

Very friendly and helpful, the shuttle service is great and we got lost on way back but called and explain would be 10minute late they was very understanding. Perfect size car for what we needed it for and clean. Would recommend

Organized SCAM!! DO NOT RENT WITH EASY CAR HIRE
My partner and I rented a car from Catania airport. On pick up they showed a car full of paint damages, scratches etc. The representative noted the major damages in a very easy and fast inspection.
After 4 days of rental where absolutely no incident happened, upon delivery another representative found a minimal sctach almost invisible to naked eye. This was intentionally to suck some money after us.

Ironically, on arrival, on the pick up counter another representative deceived us into make an extra insurance (costing roughly 180€) that would cover all kinds of damages, but in case of an incident we had to pay the first 200€. Guess how much they charged on my credit card for the invisible scratch? yeah, they have charged 198€!!!

I will never again rent and will spread the news around... Easy car hire is organized SCAM!!

Awful company & an awful start to our holiday at this rental desk in Catania. The small lady with the black hair was a horrible, aggressive woman with zero charisma & even less customer service skill.
She tried to charge us several hundred Euro for additional insurance we had already paid for via our booking company. Our booking confirmation clearly stated in bold ‘You do NOT need to purchase additional insurance at the rental desk’. The angry woman made out our cover was inadequate, despite the fact she had no knowledge of it at all and was condescending and rude asking if it was the 1st time we had rented a car. She didn’t want to let it go and ranted about how much it would cost per mile if we broke down or the car was damaged or stolen and continually threw her hands in the air saying ‘Ok fine’ and generally acted like a petulant child. She then didn’t bother to give us the documents required to collect the car. The people before and after us seemed to be given similar treatment, one of them was charged double. We then got a v small ‘SUV’ with many scratches. I was expecting the worst when we handed the car in but they were actually pretty efficient and fair on the check in; no damage. I would bump the star score up but the pick up was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever endured, so leaving 1 star. I would not recommend using this company.

Terrible experience, complete scam, do not use this company.

Rented a car from Catania Airport in Sicily. We were preasured to take an additional 450€ insurrance with almost threatening that something would happen to the car if we did not.

Still tried to avoid it, but then they simply would not give us the car at all - unless we could pay with a credit card on the exact name of the primary driver, which we do not have. Using a debit card or a credit card on another name was not possible with no explanation given. So after over an hour of quarreling with extremely unfriendly customer service at >30°C we bit into the sour apple and just payed it.

On top we were afterwards charged another 400€ for a tiny scratch we caused in the plastic above one of the wheels. I understand a charge of course but the amount is more than unreasonable and also even the additional insurrence we did not want does leave 500€ retention because **** the customer.

DO NOT HIRE HERE, they lie and make you pay for things you do not need (damages that wasn't your fault, inscurances, different credit cards etc etc). Worst place ever, read other rewies and save your self from all the troubble.

The car itself was perfectly fine.
However, the experience at the service desk during pickup was extremely unpleasant. We were put under heavy pressure to purchase an overpriced insurance package. When we declined, the staff became condescending — mocking us and making us feel ridiculous for not agreeing.

Upon return, we brought the car back without any damage and with a full tank. In fact, we returned it with more range (550 km) than when we received it (500 km). Still, we received an email claiming the tank was only 7/8 full and were charged €65 to "refill" it — a completely unreasonable amount for a small car like a Volkswagen T-Cross.

All in all, a disappointing and untrustworthy rental experience.

IF I COULD SCORE ZERO I WOULD.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE SMALLEST MARK ON THE CAR AND WILL NOT THEN REPAIR THE MARK. I HAVE JUST BEEN CHARGE 200 eURO FOR A SMALL MARK ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE THE FRONT BUMPER WHICH WAS DESCRIBED AS A BAD SCRATCH AT BEST IS WAS A MARK THAT WOULD POSLISH OUT. THE PERSON WHO INSPECTED THE CCAR TOOK 10 MINUTES TO FIND A MARK. HE IS PAID TO FIND LITTLE MARKS ON A CAR WITH LOTS OF LITTLE MARKS. DO NOT USE THEM PAY A LITTLE MORE UPFRONT AND USE A REPUTABLE COMPANY

Great car hire service and people are nice, polite, helpful and friendly too. No issues whatsoever with the the car (Citroen C3) nor the overall hire experience. Would strongly recommend and will use them again in the future.

Do not rent from these people, they run the worst car company I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. Their business model seems to be one where they never fix tiny scratches, many of them barely visible so they can charge other unsuspecting travelers for the same scratch. They don't arrive in the office till 8 am when many travellers have already had to check in so you are at their mercy in returning your security deposit in full-any in many cases they don't claiming damages that are very questionable, in the case of my son a small scratch that was noted on the damages list when he rented the car.
