In my mind this is the perfect tour. It captures the variety and beauty of Italy and minimizes the amount of time spent on the bus. The length is ideal as students are just getting ready to go home on the last day. I've done it a number of times and will definitely do it again.
This tour was highly organized by the company, EF tours. In comparison to other companies offering similar tour packages we felt this experience with superior.
The experience was great and the tour guide was incredible! However, the dinner and preplanned meals were not good and at sometimes borderline inedible.
On a negative side, please fire whoever is choosing the restaurants, the experience was insulting to students and staff. The students were charged quite a bit of money to leave the restaurants (in Florence and in Rome) hungry or in disgust. The Padova hotel was borderline below human standards and the food was pretty bad. People not part of our trip were allowed to smoke in their room and stunk up the whole hotel, an Escort (she openly said she was) was hanging around the hotel serving customers in the same hotel. Last but not least the main floor was locked at night and no person in charge was to be found to let people in the hotel or to complain about the smoke or loud customers or just in case you needed an extra blanket. In my room a metal grill from the ventilation fell down from the ceiling almost hitting me in the head! Also a message to EF you changed the itinerary canceling the Vatican experience after the students had already paid, this behaviour is highly unprofessional. On a positive note, the tour guides were great, the Itinerary was great, our EF Leader Joanna was the best thing is ever happened to us and EF, she is super professional, caring and knowledgeable. The Montecatini hotel was nice and the food was great, the one in Rome was pretty good too.

My daugthers were both on this tour. The sightseeing experience and guides were very good. Hotels were left to be desired.
